Richie Sambora - Mr. Bluesman Lyrics

He was a man
A ramblin' man he was yes he was
Guitar in hand
His home was on the road and that's where he was

He's seen a thousand roads
He's been a million miles
And when he'd bend a note
A tear would fill my eyes
Where are you playin'
Mr. Bluesman
Mr. Bluesman

Town to town
Honkytonks and dives all look the same
His gipsy heart keeps his shadow ridin' through the rain

A graveyard full of scars
His life will paint his songs
'Cause when you're on the road
There's nowhere you belong
You're just alone
Where are you playin'
Mr. Bluesman
Mr. Bluesman

He's seen a thousand roads
He's been a million miles
And when he'd bend a note
A tear would fill my eyes
Where are you playin'
Mr. Bluesman
Mr. Bluesman

I've paid some dues
Now I make my living as a music man
I play the blues
I guess the blues must be just what I am

A graveyard full of scars
His life will paint his songs
'Cause when you're on the road
There's nowhere you belong
You're just alone
Where are you playin'
Mr. Bluesman
Mr. Bluesman

He's seen a thousand roads
He's been a million miles
And when he'd bend a note
A tear would fill my eyes
Where are you playin'
Mr. Bluesman
Mr. Bluesman

Richie was a better singer than Jon.  This album is proof.  Bon Jovi should have had Richie sing more.  Just my two cents

    p.... ....

patfromjersey I agree, but Jon was much more unique, original and more memorable sounding that Richie. This sounds like everything we’ve heard before. Jovi was original sounding. But Richie is awesome!

  5. S.... O....

    Unmistakably Clapton celebrating this song.
    Keep on playing Mr. Bluesman!

Yes. Eric sounds wonderful over Richie's acoustics sea.

  15. J.... M....

I'm not familiar with Ritchies music or Bon Jovi, i checked this out after reading an EC interview. I have to say- what a voice and what a bloody good song!

  16. j.... ....

I watched BB. King with Richie doing "The thrill is gone", I just had to see what else he has done without Bon. I'm happy I found this one.

  17. c.... ....

Amazing solo by Eric Clapton. Yes he WAS the Mr.Blues Man Richie was writing about ...

    c.... ....

@clandebouyekid yes, fantastic guitar tone. When eric wants to do it....he really can

    c.... ....

+Pablo Pérez That's what you get when you ask Eric Clapton to free style when you have hardly any song to go with when get him, and give him free rein after asking. Then you build the song around him, love it, love Richie and love the GOD, ERIC CLAPTON is a guitar god.

    c.... ....

    Richie plays this solo

    c.... ....

@Miguel Arturo Vélez ordoñez Eric Clapton tocó el solo y quedó espectacular como toda la canción... Richie 🤘🎸👏
