I'm stuck on Brandi Carlisle's version...she really means it and just crys it all out, but damn, her voice is so blessed, she sounds like an angel when she crys, screams, and, just lets it all pour out of her soul...sounding so true. nobody beats her version for me, but music is quite personal....isn't it?

I think artists should be allowed to cover songs without getting bitched at, lol. I covered this song, totally my own way, with piano, I don't play the guitar...big deal. You try to perform in bars, and the owners will tell you, people want to hear covers. Original music bands don't always get a following. I covered this song and people tell me, people I've never met, that live in other countries, that they think it's the best cover they've ever seen of this song. Now, I look like shit in it and the timing isn't right, but some people dig it. And I KNOW it's not that great. 
I am not even trying to be nasty, just seems like when you're a performer, you can't do right sometimes by your fans just because you covered someone else's song. It's about putting yourself into a song you really respect. I will continue to listen to covers of Creep as long as they come out.

+Kirstin Frosheiser Oh, absolutely! Postmodern Jukebox with Haley Reinhart did an EXCELLENT vintage cover in that 40s blues/jazz style, and there's also a performance here by Carrie Manalakos. Both of which are very different from this and one another, though I'd say they both show off some vocal skills that also help with the emotion of the song more than this. That being said, I have always been a huge Damien Rice fan, and he really does get the emotional aspects down in his own way. And apparently this song is one of those that gets a lot of covers, which I think is a testament to Radiohead's song-writing abilities, actually.
