The war scenes were beautifully shot, too bad the editing was pretty atrocious and the dialogue in scenes with Sun was terrible. With the raw footage they could almost just make a movie with Huang Keqiang. The actor who played Sun wasn't bad, and while his dialogue wasn't as convincing as it could have been, it's really the acting of the supporting characters in his story line that ruin it for me. Jackie Chan played a really good role though, and for the most part the supporting actors in the New Army weren't half bad.

What injustice (only a glimpse), these people endured? Why did they riot? What is the meaning of Revolution to these people? What made them braved against the officials during that time? Shouldn't resources and effort be spent on Evolution instead of Revolution (Differences)?

While Revolution seems to liberate people of China, it does distinctly suggests .... Independence and Choices of Individuals; similar to being Democratic. However a system cannot exist without uniting specific political ambition. In the end, revolution party fall apart because of the leader's selfless disposition, Communism takes over.

It seems to me in simplicity ... There are those with Power and those Powerless. Individuals decide path and directions and the political system should allow and support his or her moving forward as long as there is no abuse to the system, nor affect others.

I believe around 100 million Chinese died between 1850 and 1950 due to wars and revolutions. A lot of it had to foreign countries interfering/attacking. What a tragic period.

@BlueSwampyCraft without the Western Powers influence the idea of a Republic where the people have the right to vote for their own rulers would never have taken place. and if the West never interfered in Asia, Africa and the Americas most of the people would most likely still be under despotic or autocratic rule to this day. the main issue that causes this giant mess in former Colonial territories was the way in which the Western Powers carved out their territories regardless of the ethnic or religious ancestry of the areas they conquered, if they had instead divided the regions they conquered based on sticking by the principal of keeping religious and ethnic majority communities together the mess we see today would occur far less frequently. Colonialist Imperialism is not bad by its nature but the Countries who did use it did a horrible job of managing those Colonies for the most part which has led to so much senseless conflict.

But in China there are still a bunch of idiots that can’t even take care of themselves especially after the one child policy. I met some who can’t even boil water. I’m just shocked how dumb many are compare to the people from HK, and even the Chinese American seem smarter. I’m sure the best of the best in China will be used as an example for how great China is but so far I’m not seeing it.
