REO Speedwagon - Sophisticated Lady Lyrics

I have this orginal album. I love this band. Sadly I was not born when this was released

Must have seen them 30 times at the UofI BEFORE they became a chick band

This was their first single to crack the U.S chart, and it did so 48 years ago in 1971.

New Years Eve 1969/1970 at the Sherwood Country Club. Loved these guys shorlty after they got started and were doing gigs all over Illinois and Indiana. Won this album of off WNAP!

I can just imagine some American Idol favorite, a real clean-cut, God-fearing, pure-as-the-driven-snow type, announce on social media that he's going to perform his favorite REO Speedwagon song for the finale. And then, with an entire nation expecting him to sing Keep On Living You, Can't Fight This Feeling, or Don't Let Him Go, he gets up on stage, smiles, waves, blows a kiss to the cute girls in the front row...

...and uncorks *THIS.*

Gary is just unbelievable he plays at a different level than just about anyone. He never got the recognition that he should he also wrote a lot of songs. He is in the top 5 of all time

First time hearing this after becoming curious about the history of REO and doing a Wikipedia search... Wow ! What a kick Ass Jamming Song ! What great all around musicianship. Dang !

R.I.P. Gary Richwrath...Great guitarist all around will be missed.. but not forgotten!!!...i have all the vinyls from 1971 to the present so i will always be able to enjoy the real music....party on !!!

I bought this in 1971 and loved the whole thing,I never really cared for the later version of REO Speedwagon, Back then bands made real music and took chances experimentally,you can't find classics done this way anymore.

I saw REO several times at hs sock hops in 71 and 72 just before the first lp came out.
ni the summer of 72 I was back home in Ft. Wayne and heard REO was coming to The Lantern. I called up my friend Mark in Arlington Hts, who had 1st turned me on to REO, to invite him down.He said they were quite the same.
I asked how come?
Well, they have a new singer.

So nice to see others out there who actually know about this! You wouldn't believe how many people still think "Hi Infidelity" was their first LP! This is an amazing song, real raw! REO's been my fave band since I was fifteen, and I still love them, and this song! Too bad they don't play it live anymore! I'd love to hear Kevin Cronin singing it :)

they played the Northern Wisconsin State Fair and snded up at my brothers house to relax before the show because he lived a block away he met them working with the catering service...he didn't tell me until they left town...what a dick!

heard this for the first time on KAAY little rock arkansaw Beaker Street and went to the Truckers Union the next day and had them order the LP for me...fun times

've seen them at Carmel High School twice, Carpentersville High, Nowhere In round Lake Beach, Some burned out barn in Algonquin opening for 5 Man Electrical Band and on and on.

I have always thought the debut REO album was VERY DAMN GOOD!! And very underappreciated! It was good to see it finally get released on CD last year!

I have the vinyl too but I don't have a way to convert this album but a good friend of mine gave me a copy that I saved in several formats I can't miss this excellent album to listen every time!!!here are places where they make it but I do not give this album because is an album collection!!!, You know what? last year it released on CD along with REO / TWO!!!!!!!

Good Rock'N Roll album!!!!!!!, I buy the REO Speedwagon's first almbum without knowing it because I began to listen to this wonderful music in december of 1983 and after the success of Hi Infidelity and Wheels Are Turnin ' I am a big fan of REO Speedwagon, I collect his album, cassettes, VHS, CDs, DVD...Well my collection is not the biggest but it is very special for me because I love the REO Speedwagon's music from 1971 till now...by the way i love Dead At Last!!!and Anti Establishment Man!!!

Great rock and roll album. Man, I haven't heard this song in probably 25 years. I did see it live about 10 times though. Love the 70's
