REO Speedwagon - Little Queenie Lyrics
I got lumps in my throat
When I saw her comin down the aisle
I got the wiggles in my knees
When she looked at me and sweetly smiled
Well there she is again
Well she looks like a model
On the cover of a magazine
But she's too cute
To be a minute over seventeen
Meanwhile I was thinkin
Well if she's in the mood
No need to break it
I got the chance and I oughta take it
If she can dance we can make it
I said go, go, go, little queenie
I said go, go, go, little queenie
I said go, go, go, little queenie
Won't someone tell me
Who's the queen standin over by the record machine
Well she looks like a model
On the cover of a magazine
But she's too cute
To be a minute over seventeen
I said go, go, go, little queenie [3x]
[Solo]
Meanwhile, I was still thinkin, hmmmm,
Well if it's a slow one
We'll omit it
If it's a rocker, then we'll get it
If it's a good one, she'll admit it
C'mon queenie, let's get with it
I said go, go, go, little queenie [3x]
[Solo]
I said go, go, go, little queenie [3x]

REO Speedwagon Little Queenie Comments
This song is way KOOL. Dig it!!!! 34 haters.lol No Music taste buds.
This is the album I judge everything else by. Love this song . . . . Boots is wailing.
boots randolph "rocks the house & brings 'em" 5:28 to 5:35. best rock saxophone ever
Great Cover Song ....Love It Better Than Chuck Berry's Version
A great band we all miss in
Gary r.
This is the only album Cronin was worth a shit! RIP Gary!
This one goes up to 11 on my amp
Cause, you know, it's louder than 10.
The great Boots Randolph on sax. I remember one summer at the hydro boat races in Pasco Washington around 1977. We were camping in the Park by our motorcycles. A guy pulled up with a Van loaded with stereo gear. Huge speakers all over the top and to the side of the van. He blew this whole album out at airplane decibels. I remember getting baked and laying in the grass listening to Golden Country while staring at the stars. Queenie is my favorite though because of the driving sax.
Kick ass version of Chuck Berry classic.....great sax and bass.....
BadAss! Tell me Whos the queen standin over by the record machine!
If she can dance, we can make it....come on Queenie,.....let's shake it.
REO..TWO....KICKED BUTT.........BASIC HARD DRIVING R AND ROLL.
Nothing more stupid than a band doing someone else's song on their "new" album
Boots Randolph on sax with Superb guitar licks from Gary. Saw Reo with Joe Walsh and Barnstorm. What a great show. Rip Gary !!!!!!
did you know REO Speedwagon was an old fire engine in Chicago?
taz jammer no, but Gary & co....smoked. 🎹🎹🎹🎸🎸🎸🎵🎵🎵
It stands for Ransome Edward Oldsmobile, The founder of REO Speedwagon. they made fire engines and mostly trucks and cars it was the forerunner of the Oldsmobile car company.
@prebooomer Actually, it was Ransom Eli Olds. His cars were called Oldsmobiles. Prior to be purchased by General Motors in 1908, the company was independent and started making cars in 1897. They were, until discontinued by GM in April of 2004, the oldest car company in the USA.
Cronin's voice is way more rock and roll in the early days then in the Hi Infidelity era
Awesome song my favorite
I love Gary too, but Dave is great too, give him a chance, not his fault whatever happened.
One of the best pure rock and roll albums.......non stop boogie music.
Awesome
They beat everybody on this rendition except Chuck B.
🎸🎸🌷🌷RIP CHUCK BERRY
Awesome song.
Excellent solo!
One of the best albums they put out . A positive
Yup. Just 2 albums. They were just working stiffs playing the midwest
I seen them in Colorado Springs when this album came out. Gary rocked the house. Down on the floor, 10 feet from the stage.
Gary smoked the stones on this one.... and I love me some stones.
Ricky Marlow Gary was a powerhouse
Gary had alot of them smoked.......
I heard them in the early 70's at the Colorado Springs auditorium. Wow this rendition still gives me goose bumps
+Gregory Sanchez I was there too. On the floor next to the stage where Gary was. Wasn't that something? I think they only had 2 albums out at the time if I remember correctly?
I saw them 2-3 times at the Denver coliseum back in the 70's
killer intro!
Gary, COME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lynne Musicalgenius Yes Gary we miss you so Much!! You are a LEGEND...
Gary..............The Best!!!!
The absolute most under-rated rock guitarist of all time.
KEVIN CRONIN best lead singerREO ever had here's why
+Melanie Whitt I just wish Kevin still sounded this good
he does in my book
@bannsidereddie GARY RICHRATH died last SUNDAY so sad my nephew texted me this afernoon and told me
Been a fan since '79 and was ecstatic when they decided to play Belfast in '85.Still a fan and get to see them anytime they're playin' near me which is Toronto nowadays, actually headin' to Detroit this Sunday for the show with Nightranger.Anyways i'm not runnin' Kevin down,he's just so high pitched these days which i think doesn't sound so good with all the old classic stuff.Heard about Gary that day, tragic, just wish they had a patched things up and got him back but hey we got our memories.
+bannsidereddie kevin and Gary made peace he even proformed with them for one night back in 20002 i think it was KEVIN done right by GARY he is even planing to speak at his funeral
great tribute to chuck berry awesome song
KDHX 88.1
Perfect
Legendary Boots Randolph on the Sax for the album production... Kicks Butt
For real ? Boots Randolph jammin with REO? Rock on.
KSHE95
Both Boots and REO out of Decatur Illinois.
i think Boots had to loaded ... not really his type of thing... and he was great real pro
REO Speedwagon recorded this album in Nashville.
Thees Boots are made for jammin.
At least most every man's Dream !
This song is like about everyone's Dream !
I used to blast this one on my cassette player in the car. It's a wonder I can still hear.
@M King For me it was vinyl!
I listened to it on a Victrola.
The version of Little Queenie on this album featured Boots Randolf on the sax. They never did it better!
@ Mark, I had this Cassette too and would blast this in the car too!!
I played this cassette so much that I used to have to constantly tighten up the tape with a pencil.
there best album by far IMHO . non of that bubble gum shit they put out later
Your humble opinion is just fine !
After the second coming of Kevin Cronin REO , without even the actual leader of the band is fired, at the request of Cronin. This song is just Rock and Roll just Straight up.
Boots Randolph on sax......killer.
Wow, me too. I was stationed in Biloxi and most of the concerts I went to down there were in New Orleans except for this one. It was in Mobile. Great concert.
these guys were damn deadly in thier prime
Cricklewood green one of the epic albums of all time (ten years after ruled in the day!)
They were better before Hi Infidelity in my opinion. They went a bit poppy in the ned. The first and second album are the best i think.
Boots Randolf played on this recording.
I love REO-They used to play for free at lunchtime on the Quad at UI-they played for about 3 hours opening for Sly & the Family Stone because Sly was wasted---
We have similar stories from Terre Haute. REO was a damn fine hard-working band in the early days.
The ultimate rock & roll song!
This was My Favorite Album...Im From Southern Illinois...And We All had This EightTrack...
@bsbscott Boots was a regular in our area at that time {IL}, he played at the Decatur cocktail lounge alot !
Almost 40 years since this came out, Wow! First time I ever heard this I was a 10 old 'little brother' in my sister's delta 88. This album is the epitome of 70's rock and roll. Thanks sis for turning me on to the right kind of music and thanks danmilam11 for posting. Flash Tan Queen please!
@scottishjones This has to be their best album! I remember hearing that 8 track play over and over in my Dad's Ford Galaxy 500 convertable. I miss the times and the music. Do not get me wrong, I like ALL the era's of REO. I prefer Gary playing though.
This is the REO I saw in concert in 1975! Real rockers! Then they got all sugary and sappy, and I stopped listening.
who knew REO could crank out rock n roll like this before they got sugary. well done Kevin & company.
REO 1 and 2 were great records, still sounds good and rocks, then REO changed just like we do over the years. Rock on...............
This song has probably been done more than any other song. This has to be the all time best version . Such a ROCKER!
I think this is the best rock n roll song of all times when REO sings it !!!!
I just figured out how to post a comment that isn't a reply. But I gotta go now to flip over and gently drop the needle on side 2. Can't wait to hear Flash Tan Queen.......
@DONNANDMARY Of all the versions of this song, NONE BETTER. Even Mr Berry gets goose bumps when this is cranked up loud. Boots performed on the studio cut by a rare coincidence. Saw the band play it live more than twenty times in the 70's and early 80's. No sax, but Gary was there - WOW!! Also....is there a better rock album than REO TWO? Champ-bana talent, catch it.
@mtoasty PROBABLY BETTER TIMES THAN YOULL EVER KNOW.
@busseybootlegger YES SIR!
Great remake of Little Queenie. Boots Randolph was one of the best on the sax and he showed it and Neal wasn't too shabby on the keyboards as well. I was in Evergreen Colorado in the early 1980's in a bar. Neal came up on stage and played with the band. Good times!
