Jean-Paul Marat, 1743-1793. French politician, physician, and
journalist. Leader of the radical Montagnard faction during the French
Revolution. Assassinated in his bath by Charlotte Corday d'Armont, a
young Girondin conservative. Marat took frequent medicinal baths to
relieve a skin infection. Lyric: "Marat's bathing."

Those echoing booms in the song just seem to fit so well for some reason. Though it turns out that they're just some pool game that was going on in the floor below, only the sound was edited with some effects.

For me the echoing booms in the song are a lovely poor Mike Mills stuck inside a computer game in which he stumbles in an unfortunate manner onto unsteady computer game floorboards and falls down a level in the game with each boom, whilst the band are playing the song of course, but he's smiling and playing bass all the time and at the end he finds out he won the game just because he's Mike Mills and is lovely!!! :- D
