R.E.M. - Ages Of You Lyrics

Postcard stowaway within
Pristine indigo without
Banded ottoman as such
Sofa seated one too much

All along the range, ra-da-da-da-da
All along the range, ra-da-da-da-da
Ra-da-da-da-da
Ages of you
Ages of you
Ages of you

Postcard stowaway within
Pristine indigo without
Banded ottoman as such
Sofa seated one too much

All along the range, ra-da-da-da-da
All along the range, ra-da-da-da-da
Ra-da-da-da-da
Ages of you
Ages of you
Ages of you

Train pulls over hanging bridge
Conductor looks up, thinks
Out and down, hands stuck to the left
To the right, you should fall,
The horses just don't gossip anymore

Postcard stowaway within
Pristine indigo without
Banded ottoman as such
Sofa seated one too much

All along the range, ra-da-da-da-da
All along the range, ra-da-da-da-da
Ra-da-da-da-da
Ages of you
Ages of you
Ages of you

  2. A.... B....

    Ages of you.

  3. M.... ....

How many times can you hit the like button?

  4. C.... B....

    love that Rickenbacker sound

  5. D.... H....

Another outtake from Reckoning that would have fit just fine🙂

  6. G.... M....

Reminds me of the first time I got high. The soundtrack to many stoned outings.

  7. N.... S....

Best Dead Letter Office song. Who agrees? (Bandwagon is second for me, also dig Burning Down, Voice of Harold)

    N.... S....

bandwagon one of my all time preferite

  8. D.... L....

So fun to perform this one live!

  9. B.... B....

    Genius......

  10. R.... k....

I want to remake this song in reggae. How do I go about doing so?  in matter of contacting for permission?

    R.... k....

I'm sure Stipe and the other members wouldn't be opposed to that. Just do it, as long as you are don't release it commercially it shouldn't cause legal problems. Maybe contact Stipe, somehow, I dunno.
I would be thrilled to hear this song in a reggae version!

  11. M.... Y....

    自分にとってのマストなアルバム。最初に買ったというのもあるんだけれども、このコンピレーションアルバムが一番しっくりきます。

  12. j.... s....

When REM was good!,never bought anything after Green came out.

    j.... s....

I was teaching English in Japan in 1990, and I had brought a tape of Green with me. My boom box ate it, leaving me pretty pissed off. I wanted to replace the tape, but all I could find locally was a copy of Dead Letter Office. This was my favorite track off that CD.

    j.... s....

Same with me. I dont think I have ever been that disappointed with an album or a band, as when I heatd green that first time. But from chronic town thru lifesrichpageant they were flawless.

  13. D.... S....

    Sofa seated one too much.

  14. S.... K....

Is this live? It almost sounds like a concert hall

    S.... K....

I'd say it's maybe recorded 'live' in a studio, i.e. not overdubbed but not at a concert either.

  15. W.... B....

They are actually insane for not putting this on an album

    W.... B....

Wally Brando What album was it going to be on?

    W.... B....

@Matt from Sunderland They recorded it during the Murmur sessions, so I would guess Reckoning.

    W.... B....

Wally Brando it could certainly have been an album track. It has a similar feel to the tracks on Murmur. Which for me personally is the most complete album I’ve ever heard 👍🏻

    1.... R....

I never bothered to think about what the lyrics are on this bit, but jeez, what the hell is this song about?!

  18. L.... ....

Lol Stipe said this was just a warm up on their rehersals. Silly lyrics

  19. W.... ....

So like.. Peter implies in this album's liner notes that this and Burning Down were kinda the same song that they got sick of and threw away. But I think they'd actually make nice bookends to an album. Opening and closing with the same motif.

  20. L.... C....

    one of R.E.M.'s finest

  21. j.... ....

So many great throwaway songs on this album

    j.... ....

So true. This one, Wolves Lower etc...

    j.... ....

I love that they included the Chronic Town EP at the end of the album on CD

  22. J.... B....

wasp outside my east widow is an omen to take care of business if you nowudimeen..

  23. D.... ....

My fav version of this unique band ever. They were so amazing circa 81-86.

    D.... ....

Murmur, Dead Letter Office and Fables of the Reconstruction are so amazing and then they kinda blew up around Green or Document IMO they kept putting out really great pop music (with the exception of the slightly over produced Out of Time which I still adore) until Monster, my personal favorite of all their albums despite being the most tragic really. R.E.M. are easily one of the top 5 American bands ever for me.

  24. A.... N....

    Their bestest song ever!!!!

    A.... N....

I think he is saying.. " So conceited.. want too much... what does proceeding mean anyway? Not sure though..rsvp..:)

    A.... N....

Chris Shafi line is sofa seated one to much

    A.... N....

Hi Joyce....Haha..Really?? I like your interpretation!! but I think you are RIght!! lol...What does Sofa seated one too much mean anyway? it doesn't make sense...lol Maybe.. someone sat on the sofa too many times? and it looks old or something? rsvp

    A.... N....

Also do you know what the verse in the middle of the song is saying? I can't make it out at all!! lol The verse where the Song Climaxs...

    A.... N....

    Definitely!!! :)

  25. L.... ....

    Fantastic.

    L.... ....

pristine indigo with purity that produces power not about religion it's about relationship.

    L.... ....

    all interactions are spiritual

    L.... ....

    INDEED!! MY FREIND.. :)

    L.... ....
