It's basically a capitalist dystopia, and it's ironic how it's set in Russia.

Ah. "The weather is about to turn real crummy" is talking about Global Warming and how we are fucking up the world and it's climate.

The poets represent creativity being lost, and they are basically coughing up works of art all the time. Kinda like how content creators tend to get really stressed when put under pressure. They are going deeper into this realm of dollar bills.

I think this song is a criticism of capitalism; money and bank are predominant in the video clip.
In the first verse, she exposes how fool we are to fall into consumerism, Coca Cola is a perfect representation of goods for the mass. In the second verse, Regina tells about the conscious ("poets") who tried everything (coughing up blood) to awake the "deep sleeper". And finally, the third section predicts the collapse of the modern economic system when "everybody gonna want their money" and the bear (the people) will be conscious of his power, chasing those on top.

The impression I got from the lyrics and this amazing video was an analysis of the Russian Revolution. Especially this part:

"All the poets in the alley coughing up blood
And their visions and their dreams

They can either wake up or go deeper"
She's talking about the poor, hungry, fucked intellectuals and artists who have this whole ideology and dream in their heads but are constantly oppressed by their poverty (and the disease that comes with it) and of course the money and the politics, why not?

The thugs and the violence particularly remind me of the oppression of the Czar and how when the hungry masses, mainly women and kids marched out to his palace on Bloody Sunday he just had his troops shoot everybody down.

This is the part where the people wake up and fight back, killing their enemies.

This is what I got from the song and video and I think it's all kinds of brilliant!

At first I was super skeptical of this song and this music video but a couple months later, it is one of my favorite songs. The lyrics as well as the video are so hauntingly beautiful and chilling (or should I say melting).

This should be on one of those gangster tv shows. Not that that's either a good or bad thing, I'm just nutral to them. But, this would be kind of fitting.
