Reeves, Jim - Roses Lyrics
(Roses, roses...)
Roses, I send you roses
With all the love their tender blossoming discloses
Just like my arms, they'll open wide
Please dear, embrace the roses
Until I come to you and when the long day closes
Our spark of love will burst to flame
And put the red red roses to shame
(Please dear embrace the roses
Until I come to you and when the long day closes)
Our spark of love will burst to flame
And put the red red roses to shame
(Roses, roses...)

Not to bad for a man that said he couldn't sing wow are we kidding no one will ever again sing as good as Jim Reeves ever again there just not made like Jim Reeves anymore. So Jim for you saying you couldn't sing I beg to differ you were by far the greatest singer that ever lived.Thats my opinion now how about the rest I believe they will say the same. This is from one of Jim's greatest fans as Jim would say SCOUTS HONOUR.
Fabulous song 66
Simply said...Gentleman Jim had the best male voice ever used for singing. It was as easy for him to sing as it was to take his next breath. RIP Jim, and thank you for all the gifts you left us.

I don't know if you'll get my comment... I am wondering which album this is from, of Jim Reeve's? It was a favorite of my adopted mom, who recently passed away and I am trying to find it for purchase.
Such a beautiful tune! This song can be found on several of Jim Reeves RCA albums, including "Moonlight and Roses" (1964), "Jim Reeves: Nashville '78" (1978), and "Collector's Series" (1985). There are later releases on other labels.

The Sons of the Pioneers also have a great version of this. but Jim's is also a great version.
This is the theme song of that famous radio program "Kahapon Lamang" hosted by Senator Eddie Ilarde in the '60s. It is sort of advice program especially in matters of love among the thousands of listeners. It is aired Monday to Friday 1-3 pm.
I was looking for an entirely different song, but i stumbled upon this song and its so amazing, for some reason i picture my dad singing something like this x3
You are very welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed it. The pleasure was all mine. . . . Romy

Thank you for your beautiful comment, I'm glad you liked the video.!
Beautiful song, beautiful video.
Well done!
I remember back in the 1950's and '60's, I always wished that I could sing like Jim Reeves, then I realised that nobody ever will, he was unique.
Thank you for a great post.
@ romy
The version that Eddie Ilarde used as his theme for the program was by a "Big Band". I can still hear it playing in my mind especially the reed section which dominated most of the melody. I just don't know who the group was. It could have been Sammy Kaye or Billy Vaughn but I am not sure.
@Ulitawo I grew up with "Kahapon Lamang" but I I vaguely remember the song. A friend from San Francisco requested that I do a video based on the song. I searched the internet archives and I found this version of the song by Jim Reeves. I don't remember finding an instrumental version. If there was, it must have been by Mantovani or one of those big bands popular n the 60s. Thank you for watching and regards from Cleveland, OH.
An instrumental version of this song was used as a signature and theme for Eddie Ilarde's weekday afternoon Radio program, called "Kahapon Lamang", in Manila, the Philippines, in the late 50s through the 60s.
@jeeire Hi Julie ! I;m glad you love it. Regards - Romy

@26greenrose Hi Loyd - Thank you very much for your beautiful compliment. I knew roses were your favorite flowers, like the friend I dedicated it to.
