Saw Jimmy with John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters at Carr’s Beach Md in the 1960’s. Also saw him at. Armory in DC and became friends. He was having trouble with epileptic fits, but was the nicest man I ever met

In the Army in '65 a friend shared he played Jimmy non-stop coast-t-coast on an 8 track in a big ass 58 Bonneville. Great times.

In 1955 I was 14 years old and listened to this over and over and over.Impossible to get tired of.I didn't realize it but the music for me was never going to get any better than this song.Hundreds of records I have heard since then that I like just as much but I will say it again if necessary.Now I 77 and I still love this song.Also You Got Me Dizzy lots more Reed.

Grew up in Whiting Indiana near Gary Indiana. VeeJay records owner Vivian Carter played the best. None better than Jimmy!

My fav Jimmy Reed song. 1st heard it about '55. Picked up a guitar been playing the blues ever since.

I learned to play harp from listening to Jimmy in the mid 1950's.

I had this on a double album. Am a singer and have been a blues singer ever since.

We lived half way between Memphis and birmingham off of 78 hwy my dad got out of world.wAR 2 and rented a farm I was about 7 year old I remember walking with him to 78 to flag down a gray hound going back after a furlow

I picked up a Chicago trib. And read they had found Jimmy dead in his hotel room. He was in l.a to put on a show made.me sad back in the 70s love all his songs

2018 in 1953 my mom would stop us working in cotton patch for 30 minutes in afternoon to go to the house and turn on radio to listen to a blues show all of us 5 kids loved the blues i am 81 now and jimmy reed is still wonderful

Love your anecdote Dorothy. I think listening to good music extends your life. Every evening I listen to a blues artist, a Motown artist, or just plain old R&B.

I think of Jimmy Reed the same way that I think of the GREAT Hank Williams. A natural song writer. These great songs were just flowin' out of him.

Listen carefully to Hank Williams sing "Move it on Over" and then many years later the first Rock N Roll Song, called Rock around the Clock by Bill Haley & the Comets had the Move it on Over Melody.

Albert "Blues Boy" King on the Drums! He always had the rythym. Godfather of the blues and the best guitar player ever. Sorry Jimi, BB, Eric, Freddie and Al Collins. None of you can hold a candle to the Velvet Bulldozer. Alber Named the record company too.  Came up with The Vee Jay name.

I'm puzzled why a Leap Year dance would be in Jan.  Should be the end of Feb, no?

it is odd, who knows maybe they were taking the mickey out of it and it had nothing to do with an actual leap year, funny maybe its just a bad mistake :)
