Reed, Jimmy - I'm Going Upside Your Head Lyrics

Yeah, yeah, yeah
Better believe what I said
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Better believe what I said
If you don't straightin' up baby
Honey, I'm goin' upside your head

Yeah, you went out last night, baby
And the night before
Tellin' you right now, baby
I ain't gonna take it no more

You better hear me baby
You better believe what I said
If you don't straightin' up, baby
Honey, I'm goin' upside your head

Think you so smart, baby
Mens all call you fine
You better have them to know, baby
You're mine all mine

You better hear me, baby
Now, believe what I said
Hear me, believe me, baby
'Cause I'm goin' upside your head

I bought you a Coupe, baby
Cost ninety-nine, ninety-nine
Now ya wanna mistreat me, baby
And stay gone all the time

You better hear me, baby
Better believe what I said
If you don't straightin' up baby
Goin' upside your head.

When I was in the Navy back in the 60's in Charleston SC, Jimmy was a huge star. Not so in my backward Ohio. They wouldn't play black artists hardly at all. How sad... Glad that this white kid was educated in the blues and a lot of things while in the Navy in the South!

@johnnymccrowe Shame on me for not doing the right research. Yes, you're absolutely right. It was recorded in 1962 (I found it here: harptab(dot)com/lyrics/ly3756.shtml) for Vee-Jay records where he recorded his best from 1955-1966 (allmusic(dot)com/album/upside-your-head-r108268).

    W.... V....

1953 was the year of his first hit on Vee Jay: "You Don't Have To Go"

    @MrPHBarr1919
This was recorded in 1985 and released on the album "Upside Your Head" (Charly 1003).

    W.... V....

Wrong, he passed away in 1976, that made it hard to record in 1985
