If I shold choose ten of all my records to call my "Best of" collection, TODAY IS MINE, would be one of the ten collection. Such a wonderful song played and sang and written by the great Jerry Reed. His daughter Seidina has recorded this song recently and does a wonderful job singing it.

After my parents divorced when I was six, my younger brother & I would see my dad two days a week, on Wednesday evenings & Saturday afternoons. He had a cassette player in his car, and bought a few cassettes, I think mainly for us to listen to. We certainly did listen to them, again and again, over the next couple years. Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, Bobbie Gentry, Andy Williams. One of them was a Jerry Reed album with this song on it. I loved it then, and I love it now. It brings back those visits with my dad, almost like they were yesterday, and not 45 years ago.

Even though there has been another song that has been played for the last few years when that show comes on, I still here this one in my head. I wish that Mr. Dance would would bring this back for just one more episode of his show. Brings me back to how I felt as a kid.

Man this guy could write... In 1972, I was 7, and my parents gave me his best hits album, which included this song. One of the first albums I started to sing to, the sentiment runs very very deep. Big love for this man's songwriting and playing
ability. I tip my hat and say thanks to this man for his music, his humor (God it was contagious!), and his artistry. Blessings and best wishes to his family, friends and fans all around the globe.

I was in the US Air Force in 1977. I was reporting for duty and played this song in my 8-track deck. This song was beautiful...that day was mine.

Jerry Reed was such a treasure. Full of life and such a musician and singer. This song so resonates with me and I am so glad to hear it again. I heard it first on one of his albums years ago and then just thought of it recently. Could not remember the name of it but I knew it instantly when I heard it begin to play. Where ever you are Jerry keep on creating such beautiful music.

It began from the controvercy on a band called ICP and remembering facing the same thing as a Kiss fan in 1974. This morning before getting started, something made me think of this song and.
