the synths in this song's background were low-key ahead of its time. On the surface its a typical rugged east coast beat - a gloomy filtered sample and some murky boom bap drums, but then you've got them weird electronic synth plucks in the back. Not many other Hip Hop songs from this era used synths so its odd to hear them here. It fits in with the atmospheric sound of this album so its not immediately out of place, but if you hone in on them it sounds almost like the sorta stuff you'd hear in later Grime tracks. interesting for sure
