The band needs to make better album choices. "I'm With You" would have been an amazing album if "Hanalei", "Victorian Machinery", "Love Of Your Life" and "Sunset Sleeps" had been on it, rather than half the unimpressive songs on there. Actually, the only song I enjoyed on that album was "Factory of Faith"...

All of my favourite RHCP songs are B sides, and the only plus to that is in knowing I'm listening to amazing tracks that most haven't even heard of, including many people who claim to be RHCP fans, you're not much of a fan unless you've heard their incredible B sides.

Sometimes i think that's right, but The Sunset Sleeps is my least favourite chilis song since One Big Mob. 

But it's definitely a more difficult decision when they make so many great songs!

i agree. factory of faith was the only good song on the album. i didnt even notice josh's vocals in it! and the bass on it is AMAZING.

EXACTLY!!!! Whoever idea was that should get a pink slip and never work with a record label again.

I understand that these were made after the release of the album, but still, they are far better than the ones in I'm With You. They should be a new different album.

@Stefano Ponce I'm pretty sure these songs 'I'm Beside You' as they're called as a group I believe, were recorded and produced in the same period as the other songs that are featured on the original I'm With You CD. Just like RHCP made about 40-60 songs for Stadium Arcadium and 'only' dropped 28 of them on the double CD, RHCP has created many more songs during the recording sessions then we will ever hear, and these B-Sides are part of them, just as 'Million Miles of Water' is a B-Side from Dani California could 'Victorian Machinery' be a B-Side song from 'Even You Brutus' (Just an example).

Anyway, I was only saying that the I'm With You b-sides are better than the actual album. And by the way, RHCP themselves mentioned that they had recorded 38 songs for Stadium Arcadium but they only put 28 in the album.

@Stefano Ponce I get it. I was surprised too when they came along. And I agree. Most B-Sides really are better than most songs on the record, except for Monarchy Of Roses, Ethiopia and Police Station, these three definitely are my favorites, just my opinion. You might be right on the 38 songs for SA thing, I had heard or read RHCP produced 60, but now you mention it I actually think that was about IWY writing and recording, not Stadium Arcadium.

I think it's funny how people say they miss "THIS, they miss THAT, the Peppers are so mellow/soft now, different..blah blah blah.."
By the way, "By the Way", is one of the most laid back, softest records of recent memory. Oh, and by the way again, it's also a masterpiece!
These Peppers are not that much different than they've ever been. John came back for Californication, emphasis on the chorus was the new formula; back up vocals was also more prevalent. SAME THING NOW!
This song in fact, sounds a lot like parts  "Savior" in forms of structure. Josh's back up vocals are amazing...

The first part sounds a lot like some song from One Hot Minute, but the chorus sounds a lot like nothing Red Hot Chili Peppers have done, even with Frusciante

Well I was saying that in the book, it explains why they chose to put that into their music. I'm not saying that I agree or disagree with you, but it just has the edginess of One Hot Minute, and that is why it reminded me of it. If you don't agree with me, that is okay- you have a right to your opinion as I have a right to mine :)

They've been releasing singles since july 2012.

I agree that it does sound like a little bit of that is thrown in there. It is a nice blend that is reminiscent of several of their albums.

Why not? This song sounds a bit edgier and rougher than most of the I'm With You tracks/B-Sides. To me, One Hot Minute always gave me the feeling that it was a darker and rougher album (and it was; if you read Anthony's book "Scar Tissue," you'll see why). The feeling of the intro and verses just reminds me of OHM for some reason. That is just my opinion, though :)
