Red Hot Chili Peppers - Green Heaven Lyrics
About this planet, there is something I know
There's a very big difference between above and below
A friend foe, or bro, leave your body on the floor
Let your spirit fly away like the soul of a crow
And yes, it does include the Ku Klux Klan
We got a government so twisted and bent
Bombs, tanks and guns is how our money is spent
We got V.D., heroin, greed and prostitution
Tension, aggravation, L. Ron Hubbard solution
Not to mention hard-core chemical pollution
If you think you're just away, you're in a mental institution
And that's a heart felt shame
'Cos everyone's crazy, everyone's the same
So, why should only Larry, Curly and Moe be to blame?
Time now to take you to a different place
Where peace lovin' whales flow through liquid outer space
A groovin' and a gliddin' as graceful as lace
A never losing touch with the ocean's embrace
Diviner than the dolphin, that there is none
'Cause dolphins just-a like to have a lot of fun
No one tells 'em how their life is run
And no one points at them with a gun
They have a lot of love for every living creature
The smile of a dolphin is a built in feature
They be movin' in schools but everyone's the teacher
Someday mister dolphin, I know I'm go'n to meet you
Back to the land of the police man
Where he does whatever he says he can
Including hating you because you're a Jew
Or beating black ass, that's nothing new
Trigger happy cops, they just like to brawl
They use guns, clubs, gas, but that's not all
They got puke, ridden prisons and sex sick jails
Fuck the poor, if you're rich you pay the bail
So support your police, support your local wars
That's the way to open economic doors
Why do we do it? 'Cause the president's a whore
We assume the position to sell the ammunition
What the fuck? It's the american tradition
Along with going fishin' apple pies in the kitchen
Isn't it bitchin' seeing dead men in ditches?

This is so gorillaz
What a song man daaaaaaaamn!!!!
this is the best song in the world
Back in 1988, before the internet, before you were able to look up the lyrics to songs like these, my friends and I had to guess at some of the lyrics in this song. Sometimes we didn’t know what Anthony was saying. The lyrics weren’t included in this tape/cd. The middle part was easy to understand, the part about the whales. We didn’t know how heavy the lyrics were until years later when one of us finally got the idea to look em up online. Even heavier than we thought!! I love the first album.
Sounds like sir psycho
Masterpiece
muito bom véi

Funky metal
Flea, kiedis, chad, slovak ,frusciante ,Dave gracias enserio por tanta buena música!! Gracias eternas
This song started to define the chili's sound in the next albums
I dig this song, but there are better live versions. I wish the peppers still did songs like this though. Thanks Chilizard. I'm feeling it right now.
my favorite place is the peace loving whales in liquid outer space.
RATM on drugs
9 people are retarded
3:17 the best part
badass song
such a powerful song
Can really hear Melle Mel's vocal style in these vocals, except Kiedis' lyrics are so cringe-worthy and embarrassingly shite. The music itself isn't too bad though.
That's a Gary Panter cover, right? Did he do a coupla RHCP album covers?
There's some cool like "weird" punk elements in this too like the birthday or flipper but mostly like a heavier funk this shits so cool
Greatest peppers song ever.
Stevie C. Thanks
demo is a lot more better.. in my opinion. this recording is with Sherman, and fuck jack sherman. plus the demo version is sloppy and at its finest
aumentar velocidad a 1.25
1.25x. thank me laterrr
champion
ok so there are songs called green heaven and green hell, weird
also Green Manalishi
WHY SO SLOW
Slow and deliberate! I don’t know. Maybe so Anthony can get all the words out and be understood at the same time? I’ve never thought about it being too slow personally.
@drewper73 it's slow compared to the demo version
N M Okay. I haven’t heard the demo version, or if I have it’s been a while. When I think about the tempo for this song I think about this version. I think they got it just right. I love the music but it’s the lyrics that make this song.
AMERIKKKA 2016
WOOOOOL
this song is very much Rage Against The Machine, maybe this was an inspiration for them
Considering red hot chili peppers came out in the early - mid 80s.. Yea I would say RAM, was going even around yet
No hagas comparaciones estúpidas estimado
TheWidow the guitar line is nothing like Rage
Boris Gadea Espiritu a que cancion de RATM dicen que dr parece ?
I agree.
perfect song for all the shit that's been going on in this country in 2016!
would love to blast this over the speakers at the RNC convention, lol!
should be the democrats theme song. they are more than content to ruin this country so they can have absolute power. all they want is to keep people with their hand out so they can stay in power.
am I the only one who prefers jack Shermans version?
nope :o I think he's a great guitarist. His live performances sounded amazing. The producer messed up the guitar sound on this album.

This song is so awesome! "dolphins just like to have a lot of fun" "back to the land of the police man where he does a what ever he says he can!" Fucking 32 years old and this song is still great and relevant.
ap2pat Probably more relevant now than it was in 1984. Definitely one of Anthony’s best raps.
Green Heaven live at Kawasaki is wayyy better
Justin Brule I do like this version in its own way because it’s so funky
lol I can see what Anthony means by too squeeky clean in scar tissue. The live version is way more aggressive than this
hahaha i also read that
I feel like it sounds better when you speed it up. More their style!
The guitar on this is genius. Hillel was amazing it's so sad to see so much musical talent wasted. Also, for the record I am aware that Hillel didn't play on this record but he still wrote the guitar part for this song.
I totally get when flea says he doesn't like this record. Watch them perform this song live, it's way way better.
@Bryce Thibodeaux they improved it.. but jack did a good job
Joaquin 1522 Jack Irons? I’m just wondering because Jack Irons isn’t on the first two albums. The badass Cliff Martinez was. I love his style.
@drewper73 jack sherman :v
Joaquin 1522 Gotcha.
10 years before rage against the machine
+10110 01001 I'm sorry, but I don't get what you mean, I Adore both bands, Red Hot Chili Peppers being my favorite out of the two. Could you explain your comment please :)
10 years after: rage against the machine ;)
Best description ever, man. So true.
i wish they would still play songs like this live, love 80´ peppers!
Yea they play songs from their older 80s albums quite rarely.
besides me and my friends and higher ground
FunkyBlackCat
emq video ele fala sobre essa música?
Badass song. Shame it's still appropriate for today.
Christ they have come a LONG LONG LONG LOOOOONG way
sooo goood!!!!
I had to actually go check because i didnt believe it wasnt hillel on this record i have this recording too how did i not know this green heaven & true men... 2 of my favorite songs ever ill have to check out more music by jack sherman thx for setting the record straight
dont, well this is late as fuck but jack sherman sucks ass and hillel wrote the guitar lines :p
I wonder if anthony knew his hair would look exactly like the cartoon on the cover 15 years later
Hillel doesn´t play here. But I get your point.
Hillel Slovak, era um John Frusciante na época...... Banda perfeita!
Indeed, but i thought, he meant the jam which was arranged by Sherman. Nevermind, great funk!
actually its Jack Sherman :)
It was actually recorded by Sherman - Hillel had quit the band by then (he returned on Freaky Styley record session)
Hillel Slovak :P
Demo is better.
Do you think it's Hillel?
Hillel jams it good!
When they were good.
Jimi Hendrix...
you should hear the demo version :)
hip hop isn't so bad,at least,it isn't.today you ALWAYS see at least one rapper or a hip hop singer,on pop musics, some song have more than 2.
hey, smart ass,did you know the black invencted the rock?beyond the jazz, rap hip-hop and much more?
oh yeah,Get up and Jump demo is much better than this song on the album
Really liking the like/dislike ratio you got going up there! lol Really love the RHCP!
Old Good Red Hot...
@GrizCC ...now i'm confused are you joking?
@GrizCC Where do you think rock came from!?

@McGeed97 Cliff burton!

Sherman actually did a very good job on this
Sherman did a very good job at this and the demos from this album are very interesting too
