Tiare Mendez They talked about it in a interview. he suffered from really bad depression for a couple years and he lost a ton of weight. bony knees is talking about him losing all that weight and feeling like the world had him on his knees. Sleepy eyes is self explanatory. It's hard to sleep when you're thinking about all the shitty.

Lauren Sabino bony knees symbolize people /mostly kyle fasel/ getting up and moving forward and getting along with everything. sleepy eyes is for the nights you WANT to sleep but you can't fall asleep due to thinking too much and anxiety/other mental illnesses getting the best of you.

I hate how people compare Sleepy Eyes or Bony Knees to I'm not sad anymore. That line was only in the upsides and was not on every track as everyone is making it out to be. Please stop comparing please they are two completely different things and two different bands.

The Wonder Years barely used "I'm not sad anymore" in their new album. That was mainly for the Upsides album. Each of their albums have kind of a tag line.

Still love this band.
