Ray Stevens is one of comedian of my life-time and this is one of wonderful country music song back then and it is funny today.

This song actually sent a chill up my spine when I was little, sounded a whole lot different coming out of our old TV.

This used to scare me to where I couldn’t sleep I’m only 15 I would watch the tape at my grandparents house every time I stayed the night good times

I grew up living with my Grandmother. She got me into Ray from the beginning and I was hooked from then on.

My Mom sat up with Uncle Jim on her honeymoon week in 1940's. Later a lady died in the bed next to her and the young nurse was nervous about cleaning up the bed the woman passed in and mom ended up comforting her. Mom took it as part of life and knew her own pension plan was soon and she was ready and was not afraid. My last funeral in a home viewing was my grandmother viewed in my uncle's house in 1957.

I remember my granny talking about sitting up with the dead back in the old days they didn't have wakes or viewing at the funeral home they had the viewing at the house then they took the body to the grave in the casket and then they had the funeral there and buried them . I've herd of sitting up with the dead. And she explained why they sat up with them . because rigamortis would set in an they would have to try to keep the body flat to fit in the coffin when it was finished being made
