Ray Price - Touch My Heart Lyrics

Touch my heart feel the hurt it's destroying me
I've tried but can't seem to shake her memory
Touch my heart feel the hurt the pain and misery
Then tell me again what love can do for me
If you lived in my world awhile you'd soon forget how to smile
In my world there's a million ways to cry
If you had my eyes you could see how someone changed my destiny
I'm a man who can't live and yet can't die
Touch my heart feel the hurt...

Touch my heart feel the hurt...

Big R shit on me i waited a week and checked everyday for my parts i need 8n parts they told me after 7 days they dont know who i am and no parts on the way

  5. R.... F....

Two nights after Ray passed away I had a dream that I was in the flat plains of Texas or so it seemed. There was someone in the car with me and to this day I cannot remember who. Anyway I was in a telephone booth right after a thunderstorm, everything was bright green. I am on the phone with Mr. Ray Price who keeps calling me son and to remind me to drive careful as he was waiting on me. As he stated waiting on me to come home and had been for a long time now.
Being a longtime singer who loved Ray Price and covered his material, I still feel he was calling me, I don't doubt it at all

    R.... F....

That was quite a dream. I just saw him 30 or 40 times in concert. Talk to him twice

  6. C.... ....

I made my band learn this song, just so I could play the intro with that beautiful counterpoint lick by Buddy; such a monster player for all of eternity.

  7. J.... M....

Great song written by the first real Country Outlaw, Donald Eugene Lytle,  who performed and penned great songs under many aliases, most notably Johnny Paycheck.

    J.... M....

Yes, and he played with the Cherokee Cowboys for a while

    J.... M....

He did, he played bass.  I think at that time he called himself Donny Young.  At any rate Donny Young is the songwriter credit for "Touch My Heart"

  8. R.... S....

Ray Price was the Rembrandt of country music. So smooth, so rhythmic, so soothing it and relaxing. Every word of every verse was magic. Love him so much!

    R.... S....

Yes indeed, I saw him 40 times

  9. m.... p....

    *country is just farm emo*

  10. m.... ....

A masterpiece by the master................ RIP

  11. B.... H....

NEVER EVER WILL I GET TIRED OF THIS MAN AND THE TRUE COUNTRY MUSIC.......

  12. E.... E....

What a voice! Too bad Nashville forgot what the term country music means a long, long time ago.

  13. d.... ....

With the great Buddy Emmons on pedal steel.

    d.... ....

I saw him performing with the Everly Brothers ten or15 years ago. He was fantastic

  14. C.... W....

    A TRUE LEGEND R.I.P.

    C.... W....

    CountryBoy Williams boo

  15. d.... ....

the cherokee cowboy was one of the very best.

    d.... ....

Not one of the best, the very best

  16. d.... ....

Back again listenin' to the master do his thing with his understated and casual manner like nobody else can. You're still numero uno with me Raymundo. RIP

  17. M.... P....

My dad cried when Hank Williams died my mother said and that was the only time she ever saw that but I cried when Ray died !!

    M.... P....

Many of us who so loved the man AND his music Miles did likewise. When death came I couldn't bring myself to come to these comment forums and post something...anything right away. We knew it was coming, but still - even with a devout belief in life everlasting - it couldn't cushion the blow that smacked you right in the olde HEART. And y'know what Miles? Maybe...just maybe I thought, with some time passed to heal the wound, it should be just that way. A sentiment of love's impression branded to the heart.

    M.... P....

You know I did not know how much Ray's music meant to me till I heard that Ray had passed and my eyes filled with tears and my mother's words came back to me in that instance and I also realized that a window to this life had closed and another opened to the other side , Ray's voice and music was haunting in a special way, I never had the privilege of meeting him but I wish I had known him as well as you ,Thanks for your thoughts!

  18. J.... M....

Beyond his singing, Ray's vocal range was amazing!!! (I mean, highs and lows)

    J.... M....

When he was younger, he could really hit the high notes. It gave me goosebumps

    J.... M....

Sure. Since I am from Argentina, country music is not too well known down here. I only knew him in the US in the seventies, when he sang "For the Good Times" & ""I won't mention it again". Back then, his low notes were really remarkable. On the whole, his vocal range was out of this world. The only comparable popular singers I know - in this particular sense - were Engelbert Humperdinck (british) and Andrea Bocelli (italian).
Another thing worthwhile mentioning is that when he sang live, he hit difficult notes without any visible effort, as Sinatra used to.
Ray Price was amazing, and surely deserves a much, much greater place in the memory of WORLD music.

  19. d.... ....

Seem like I come back here once a year or so and rejuvenate myself listening to the best friend that a fine song with emotion-filled lyrics ever had. Had the chance to meet Ray once, along with The Big E, and he's the same fella in person that he projects professionally. Gentlemanly reserved, polite and willing to casually chat as if he knew you for years.
What a legacy of work he left us. About the time that you listened to one song and thought it might have been your favorite Ray Price tune another, just like this one, came along.
For me one of the top three male solo voices of all time in the country/pop field, maybe even #1.

    d.... ....

+doctorhugo yes, quite a guy. I saw him in person about 40 times

    d.... ....

Certainly agree. Met him in Branson, MO. So nice.

  20. M.... M....

  21. L.... J....

  32. d.... b....

I got acquainted Ray Price at the Western Swing Festival in Wichita Falls, Texas several years ago. He told me it was "quite a party" living with Ole Hank way back in the day. Both are two of the greatest there has ever been or ever will be.

    d.... b....

Thats a good story--they sure were great

  33. a.... p....

    Still love you Ray Price.

  34. d.... ....

There will never be another Ray Price! I have most of his music on my IPOD and listen to it as often as I can. The Frank Sinatra of country, but I love Ray more!

  35. S.... H....

like Marty Robbins there will never be another Ray Price

  36. B.... O....

Ray's voice grabs us by the ears & enters our hearts & soul with extreme feelings of love, sorrow & happiness! If we are lucky, we may be able to catch him again singing with the likes of Patsy Cline & the many great others who have passed on to the other side. I can look forward to that!

    B.... O....

    Thanks for watching

  37. G.... v....

Like "Look at us " from Vince Gill with John Hughey on steel.

  38. G.... v....

The title says it all, and it does touch mine. So does Buddy Emmons on the steel.

    G.... v....

    BUDDY THE BEST,

  39. B.... F....

    NICE SONG

  40. S.... C....

this song really touches my heart

  41. c.... ....

A master of phrasing. One of Frank Sinatra's favorite singers....Ray Price could do no wrong as far as I'm concerned.

  42. d.... r....

    i love this guy

  43. a.... p....

    One of the best.

  44. p.... d....

Ray Price is one of THE greatest singers who ever sang a song. There will NEVER be another. His range was unprecedented; in that he covered a wider range than most men ever. Singers that tried to duplicate it will tell you, if they are truthful, that they have to strain; where Ray did it effortlessly.Truly a listener's treasure. But I have something even greater to me: The man that played that unbelievable kickoff, backup, break and ending, on this song, was THE greatest steel guitar player who ever lived. He was none other than Buddy Emmons. He was just about every player's idol worldwide. Truly an unbelievably creative and talented musician. And one of the reasons Ray wanted him on many of his recordings. Jimmy Day, of course,  preceded Buddy, on such songs as "Crazy Arms" and "invitation to the blues", etc. But as good as Jimmy was; he would be the first to tell you that Buddy was indeed THE greatest ever.I shall always treasure the fact that Buddy and I were friends for a long time. May Jesus bless his dear soul and may He rest Ray's and Jimmy's soul.

    p.... d....

That is quite a tribute to all three--and well said. I saw Ray about 40 times live in as many years.

    p.... d....

Then you may also know what many do not realize. There was an unstated mutual admiration society of RESPECT between Buddy and Ray and it carried along from when Buddy first started with Ray right on through the creatively successful Step One years. Buddy, as I think many longtime fans could attest to would say to him that "you re-invented the steel guitar as an instrument as you re-tuned and improved yourself" with his attention to specificity of detail. I passed along that very opinion at the Steel Guitar Convention once and he just smiled and just silently gave me a thumbs-up acknowledgment, which I smilingly returned with an identical thumbs-up. That was Buddy to me.

  45. D.... W....

I was at this show in WI Dells, Great show, He came out after the show and signed autographs. He really cared about his fans.

  46. S.... M....

    that says it all.

  47. N.... L....

met him in person, in Silverprings In Ocala Fl. was with my hubby and got one of his CD's

  48. L.... ....

Ray Price is my 5th cousin on my dad's side of the family

    L.... ....

I got aquainted with Ray at the Western Swing Fesitval in Wichita Falls several years back. He came here for it a few years and we kinda got to be buds while here. I was impressed he would remember my name every year he saw me. Great man and one of the best singers there ever has been or ever will be.

  49. d.... ....

Ohhhh Raymundo, you do it everytime! And do it so well. You embrace the lyrics, gently caress them and deliver the writer's sentiments with beautifully understated yet dedicated emotion with that voice and your distinct tone and timbre. That singular voice and smooth styling that sets you so far apart and beyond all the others. From the young through the middle-aged to the seasoned older version -  all of you were GREAT. What a legacy of wonderfulness you left us all Ray. RIP my friend until we meet again bye-and-bye in that great afterlife. The curtain in my window never waved goodbye to you Ray, it keeps a-flappin' in the breezes sayin' 'see ya'...see ya''

  50. E.... W....

God broke the mold after Ray

  51. N.... B....

  65. p.... s....

    Johnny Paycheck wrote this song.

    p.... s....

No, Johnny did not write that song, he took credit..."Words by Johnny Paycheck" . My father actually wrote that song after he and my my mom divorced in the 60's. He sent it in without giving his name because he said he was imbarrassed , thinking it was not that good. He sent another song in as well called You took away my Happy.

    p.... s....

    Donny Young

  66. H.... H....

One of the greatest country singers of all time. I do mean country, not what is being produced today. In a career that spans decades, Ray Price stands alone in his ability to entertain his fans with the kind of music that can touch your heart make you feel like you are sitting right in front of him when you aren't. I am 70 years old and I have been a fan for many years... and I will miss him. Rest well old friend... you have earned it.

    H.... H....

Herb Houston Yes, Herb, I have been a big fan of Ray also, for many years. They certainly don't make them in the same "mould" now, do they?. Ray sings directly from his heart & will never ever be forgotten by true Country fans. D.K.

    H.... H....

DITTO. I join in your sentiments and I'm all over these Ray Price comment boards here. I first heard Ray while in the Navy in the Pacific back in the latter days of the 50s as I was tweakin' an old AM radio in the middle of the ocean! HA...I've been with Ray longer than Mose Calderone was. Since then many, many moons have come and gone as I. now - standing in the comfy shadow of 80 - still won't stop listenin' and singin' along with him.

    H.... H....

Ray Price and Faron Young are like no other. Amazing entertainers.

    H.... H....

Thank God we can still hear him on our records and internet.

  67. t.... ....

Why can't they make this music again? True country for sure!

  68. a.... ....

Ray, I never met you in person and you'll never know what your music has meant to my family!!!  You were truly one of a kind - The greatest talent ever...I love you and I will miss you!!!

  69. m.... s....

  84. j.... b....

First and only time I saw Ray Price was in 1953. I was about 13 and Ray was appearing at our football stadium. Also on the show was George Morga, Minnie Pearl, Red Garrett and a few others. Before his set Ray was underneath the bleachers, fly casting. Ray is an avid fisherman. I recall him joking that he had just swallowed the biggest bug I thought that was funny.. I was impressed with his laid back personality.

  85. B.... E....

I HOPE I CAN SEE THIS WONDERFUL LEGEND IN MT. PLEASANT, TX (KLTV) - The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation is pleased to announce that it will host country music legend Ray Price in concert at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, April 2.,. 2011

  95. C.... ....

Excellent! The masters voice and the master's strings. Sounds like Buddy's steel could sustain forever. Thank you so very much for posting, MrPete222.

  96. T.... K....

My father actually wrote "Touch my heart" and sent it in anonymously , he was too embarrassed to put his name on it, he and my mom had just divorced and he was
having a hard time with it. He is now 78, and I bought him the CD last year, he had
never heard it, but knew that Ray Price had recorded it and I think Johnny Paycheck took the credit for writing it. If you note, it says "words" by JP, not "written by.."
