Ray Price - Lonely Street Lyrics

I'm looking for that lonely street
I've got a sad sad tale to tell
I need a place to go and weep
Where's this place called lonely street?

A place where there's just loneliness
Where dim lights bring forgetfulness
Where broken dreams and mem'ries meet
Where's this place called lonely street?

Maybe on this lonely street
There's someone such as I
Who came to bury broken dreams
And watch an old love die

A place where there's just loneliness
Where dim lights bring forgetfulness
Where broken dreams and mem'ries meet
Where's this place called lonely street?

Maybe on this lonely street
There's someone such as I
Who came to bury a broken dream
And watch an old love die

A place where there's just loneliness
Where dim lights bring forgetfulness
Where broken dreams and mem'ries meet
Where's this place called lonely street?
Where's this place called lonely street?

Sorry people but Andy Williams sings "lonely Street" better than anyone can, Ray Price has his songs that only Ray can sing better than anyone can!!

I'm checking his version next. Vincent brought me here. Thanks for the suggestion!

    E.... N....

yea but ray was a better man then andy .ray told his son to walk in his own dirt when he's in trouble . while andy bailed and paid for his ex-wife to get out of jail free for murdering a spider.

R.I.P. Mr. Ray Price. My mother played your records over and over when I was a kid and I grew to love your music as much as she did. Wonderful memories!

  34. S.... R....

RIP Cherokee Cowboy...Thanks to the Hound for liner notes on Night Life CD

  35. l.... b....

The best version of this classic right here folks.

    l.... b....

This one came out in 1963, not 1957 for his concept album titled "Night Life".

    l.... b....

since you know everything how bout you tell me when crazy arms came out

  36. p.... ....

gene vincent does a great version too

  37. L.... L....

Another artist who always seemed to improve from one year to the next. My favorite song of his is his upbeat version of 'San Antonio Rose', performed with backup singers. Great sound.

  38. S.... K....

I love the steel. Is there anywhere I can hear or see you playing? Oh yeah, Ive been a fan of Ray since I was a kid too. Going to see him in Branson in June. Cant wait!

  39. S.... ....

Sounds good, but not his best. City Lights tells same story, much better use of his voice.

  40. G.... M....

This recording was done the same year I was born, I was so fortunate to be born into this period of wonderful music. It took talent to do this music. If I'm correct this is one of the first recordings with the pedal steel guitar as it is known today in 2012. Greg

  41. J.... W....

great. Nothing else to say about it.

  42. E.... C....

    The incomparable Ray Price...................
