Ray Charles - Am I Blue Lyrics
Am I blue? Am I blue?
Ain't these tears
In my eyes tellin'g you?
Am I blue? You'll be too,
If each plan with you man
Was a time I was his only one,
But now I'm the sad
And lonely one,
"Lawdy," Was I gay? 'til today,
Now he's gone and we're through,
Am I blue?

Dammit Batman, let me enjoy this piece for once!
All you batman freaks are just sick..! Open your bloody clogged ears and LISTEN to Ray and Johnny Coles dig deep into the music.....this is music from the soul for the soul...!! I defy anyone to find someone that can sing like Ray....!!
So this is what's very precious to Batman, something he worked very hard to conceal, something when gone he can never regain, something so shattering. What a great and relaxing song!
Bruce Wayne have culture, huh?
Ray Charles means music done right,,,,,,,,,,,,, batman is a comic strip
Forget batman
This is my absolute favorite performance by Sir Ray Charles!

"No, you're black, man!" - Robin.
love your songs Ray. maybe i can play back up in the heavens wit you brotha..
After hearing Kevin Conroy's version, had to come hear Ray's.
Now she's gone and we're through, am I blue...
Happy Birthday Ray Charles 🎈
With my Edit of "Shake Your Tail Feather": https://youtu.be/Q_7WeSjbziY ❗️
im full blue!!!
La mùsica que Batman me ha hecho conocer xD
Conroy brought me here 👍
Un bel connubio tra jazz, blues e melodico poi con questa voce....
King Ray brought me here!!!!!! Long live the King!!!
You all who think batman's version is better than Ray Charles are crazy. The Kevin Conroy version has very little heart and is pretty sour too among other things. Ray Charles sings this song with so much feeling and his playing is amazing. Also, he is not out of tune like Kevin which helps alot. That brass solo is great as well. I am not a big Ray Charles fan b/c I find his recordings to sound a bit dated, but this live rendition of I Am Blue is timeless.
One of the greatest jewels captured forever
Batman sent me here
In concert or in the studio, a giant in the music world... although technically not an actual giant...
anyone know whos on the trumpet?
Sonny's Blues ...
Vine por Batman.
Who is playing trumpet on this cut?
I this on cd?
gran voz un grande
Horn is t._.
i sang it better.
batboy good job your medal is in the mail
I checked it is not in the mail.
batboy well I don't know what to say so... yeah
Ray was a treasure........
grandissimo
Gives me the chills and I feel the blues. I am reading Sonny's Blues for English class and this song plays crucial role in story. Ray Charles shared the same addictions as Sonny so this song is sung and played with the passion that I believe Sonny to have played in climactic part of story. After listening to this-find Sonny's Blues and read it and the song will take a much deeper meaning as well as if you know the life story of Ray who was on the horse for awhile before he got off.
Wonderful!!!
Noticing all the "batman brought me" stories, did batman perhaps start a taxi company?
Yes and he drives people in his justice mobile.
Yes and he drives people in his justice mobile.

Am I blue, am I blue, ain't these tears in these eyes, telling you; am I blue, you'd be too, if your dreams like your schemes done fell through,
Br: There was a time, when I was the only one, now I am, the sad and lonely one,
Was I gay, till today, now she's gone, and we're through, am I blue.
Most likely performed in the mid to late 70's as I was on the band at that time. Featured Johnny Coles on Flg horn and rarely performed by Ray but one of my favorites. The lead trumpet player Bob Cousin and I left the stage and went out front to listen one night and got fined $50 for doing so. That was the infamous Joe Adams, guess he needed the extra cash, but boy was it worth it to hear and see such masters at work. D McGurn
Hi Dan,
I'd love to add you to this list: http://bit.ly/2i0nWDH
When exactly were you part of the band (years/tours)? Which chair?
Brgrds, BOB
Genius & Soul: The 50th Anniversary Collection....1997
I believe it was from Live in Japan originally........Johnny Coles on trumpet.

FireBird- well done!
J' ai oublié : EXTRAORDINAIRE , SUPERBE !
La fin : SUBLIME !
RAY demande à JOHN de l' expliquer. Certainement JOHN HUNT (trumpet).
il lui dit aussi "JOHN YOU KNOW".
Mais c' était où et quand ? Son d'excellente qualité.
Batman brings me here. This is a good one!
kick back and let the good times roll and roll to the beat of the jazz
it is beautiful
Ray brought me here
Those of you talking about batman singing this and Kevin Conroy doing this should check out the movie on Netflix called I KNOW THAT VOICE he is in it for a while
Damn.this sound about my life....and my love.....
Am I blue? Am I blue?
Ain't these tears
In my eyes tellin'g you?
Am I blue? You'll be too,
If each plan with you man
Done fell through.
Was a time I was his only one,
But now I'm the sad
And lonely one,
"Lawdy," Was I gay? 'til today,
Now he's gone and we're through,
Am I blue?
Got a nostalgia moment while bingeing old Justice League shows. Never have I though that this was legit... but damn...
Course, that's not the only thing that's important... ;)
que gran rola , me puso triste en verdad , y batman ni se diga :/
"Sonny's Blues" brought me here.
That's great! I am unfortunately unfamiliar with a Professor Silverman, but if he or she is teaching this piece to their students--they have my full respect! :)
This version wasnt written when the story came out. Just lettin u kno.
Same here. Currently doing a paper for it. It's helping a lot. Such a beautiful song beautifully sung by the great Ray Charles.
@Black3y3dAng3L Isn't it? It's just fantastic! It captures the thrill of the ending of the story perfectly.
Same man 😁
Oh, Kevin Conroy was at the peak of his prime when Batman sang this!
Now, I wonder if Roger Craig Smith can nail it just as well!
Seems like the Kevin Conroy one is a bit better, though its a great song nonetheless
Is the best <3
batman sent me here
You all know why I`m here.
@Bruce Wayne because your parents are dead?
Sing to me Bruce.
@Sofia Berg okey i will lol
@Bruce Wayne No, no, no. You have to sing to me, Bruce :D

Is that Coltrane? ?
The other Hoagy Carmichael song.
Ray Charles is the best of the best...

Ray Charles live in Japan
Batman brought me here because he's Batman.

Justice League batman singing.
Dat batman tho
Dat batman tho
this version is almost as good as The Batman's one.......
Well this is the original song, it is thus good, duh!
HuntsmanPhantom
This is not even close to being the original. This is a very old song.
HuntsmanPhantom
As a matter of fact, Ray Charles wasn't even born yet when the song was published.
Perfecta <3
I'm thinking about doing a cover on this, what do you guys think?
thanks but i rather listen to Kevin Conroy Batman than Christian Bale version from the Nolanverse.
@skeaneable Agreed to that. Hated Bale as Batman...lol
T0mN7 Dude you made me spit out my water! 😂😂😂😂
DO IT!! JUST DO IT!!
oh yeah You did!!
NO! Linda Ronstadt has a great cover of it though! So did many other artists since Ray Charles!
Only Batman sang it better.
Indeed :)
What album is this on? I want more of this.
Sonny's Blues
