Raspberries - I Wanna Be With You Lyrics
If we were older
We wouldn't have to be worried tonight
Baby oh, I wanna be with you
So bad, (yes, I wanna be with you)
Oh yeah (yeah, I wanna be with you)
Well tonight's (tonight) the night
We always knew it would feel so right
So come on baby, I just wanna be with you
Someday's a long time
And we've been waiting so long to be here
Hold me tight
Our love could live forever after tonight
Close your eyes and be still

Raspberries I Wanna Be With You Comments
How did I miss out on this band.Just discovered them now here.UK should be shot for not playing this groups music.
Amazing tune! <3
I agree. I think it was their best song. But they did a lot of good one's, just came along 10 years too late.
Are you going into a studio with the 16 track master tape? What is the source material and what do you use to make it different? It certainly sounds better than my 45 which was beaten before I got it... It was not only scratched but had a terrible warp.
I don't know what gave you the impression that I have a studio with 16 track master tape. I just made a copy of their song from my CD and added instrumentation, vocals and percussion on top of the original to expand the stereo imaging of the song. I don't know what kind of recording equipment was used on the Raspberries songs cause most of them are not good recordings.
This is what I do on my channel as a hobby by taking old classics and reworking the original audio to make them more enjoyable to listen to.
Some of these aren't that good because I slapped them together in a short time and they need to be redone with more care in the future. Kenn
Super C00L🎶
This song played as I left the wedding the reception with my bride, waving the just-signed marriage certificate to the in-laws.
72 HS Freshman with all the cars, rock, and the girls. Great time to alive.
A great song to sing along with the chorus - never over Eric's lead!

I honestly thought they were Already put in the Hall of Fame??
Eric Carmen at least for sure.
💯
1:21 "Anyone missing a flashlight??"
Seriously now, this is one of my favorite power-pop records of all time. It's as if the Byrds got together with Phil Spector to record a Carol King song.
One Fine Day?
I just want to be with you.
Eric's pipes ... Amazing🎶😎
They were a truly superb powerpop band!!!This here is a great song!
1:22 one of the Raspberries packing a cucumber.
One of my fave Rasberries songs
Kenn you always do such a superb job, many times can’t tell what you added cuz you perform as though you were in the group w the exact feel
Thank you so much for uploading this...It sounds fantastic!
I cringe every time I listen to this because I slapped it together in a few hours not thinking anyone would care to listen to it. It needs a whole new enhanced version to correct the sloppy instrumentation I tracked on. Another project for the future! Kenn
This band is rlly good they are really under rated from there album covers and there name
2:39 - Eric's hair is some of the tallest in rock 'n' roll.
Oh wow....thanks so much for that! What a great memory. I used to love that song, and I first heard it when I was only 7 or 8 years old in the 70s. I think I was too young to have a crush on the band..in fact I didn't ever *see* the band til now, as the song was on one of those hits-compilation albums, with no band photos. Now I'm too old to have a crush on the band! Lol. On the other hand, guess they're older too...lol.
I am sorry to say that I think the "enhancement" is a disaster to the groove and easy flow of the original performance. The drums sound awful, digitized and distracting from the rest of the song. I have no idea what The Music Enhancement Channel is trying to accomplished. The original record did not need such tinkering.
Eric Carmen, one of Ohio's best artists.
MUSIC ENHANCE, WOULD YOU STOP THIS MUSIC ENHANCE SHIT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT! 60'S MUSIC SOUNDS GREAT AS IT WAS RECORDED, IT DON'T NEED ENHANCING! SO "STOP"✋IT MOTHER F****R!
Yes, I'm still listening to this at 58, and my windows are still rattling.
Check out the visual at 1:22: "Hey, is that a pickle in your pocket?!?!" Not sure what made me focus on that. Great 70's rock pop!
nice video
This band always to me sounds like a British band
Touches my heart every time I hear this song❤️
Mike&Gail
I heard that Eric Carmen opened for America years ago. Lots of folks weren't familiar with his work with the Raspberries. They thought he was going to be a power balladeer. He played this song and Go All the Way. The crowd was blown away and made him do a couple of encores. I'm not sure how well America liked that since they were headliners!
Dave Owens I went to see that show in Pittsburgh in 1975. It’s amazing that you knew that, unless you’re thinking more recent.
This song , Go all the way and Tonight have 3 of the best intro's in rock history. Wally could rock that V.
I was lucky enough to see them at Walt Disney World for New Year's Eve. It was awesome. Thanks for posting this.
Had all 10 of their singles in the early 70's - BUT this is the one that really needed enhancing (nearly mono). Thanks so much!
OH how I loved Wally Bryson.
I have an odd memory but a good one. About a year ago, I was trying to get my get my go kart started to drive it in the snow. I pulled it a few times but it wouldn’t start, and I accidentally yanked the kill wire off the coil when I was pulling it, which was behind the flywheel. As I was trying to take the flywheel off, I accidentally boogered up the threads on the crankshaft. As I was sitting there, so frustrated I could flip the whole go kart over because I didn’t have a large enough die in my tap and die set to fix it and it was in the middle of a snowstorm so I couldn’t get another one, this song began playing on my father’s Pioneer radio as our local radio station in NEPA plays the “Forgotten Oldie” every day. I stopped what I was doing, sat in the go kart seat, and just listened to the greatness of this song for the first time.
Erike.carmen.muito bom
Love those songs by the assberries
NIce job. Could you do "Its Cold Outside" by The Choir. They were a Cleveland band and several members ended up in the Raspberries.
1972 a freshman in HS the cars, mini skirts, and the music. Epic
And in the spring, the girls in shorts and halter tops ....
Yep, had to be there to understand.
Cool song i remember this back in the 70s
Easy on the compression ! Sound is muddy. Computer speakers O.K., but awful with good headsets.
Nate Ruess did a cover to this song and it’s so good.
1972....ten years old.... listening to AM RADIO KHJ- LA and rocking be out to The Raspberries. My favorite song that year Good times....good times
I grew up in Valencia CA and listenef to 93 KHJ as well. I always thought the Raspberries were so under rated. What a shame they didn't continue longer.
So good! How do I get a copy this???
Wonderful bubble gum! Thanks.
Love this song
Bubblegum? No way. It's just a great kick ass, rock and roll song!
Definitely my favorite by this awesome group. Anyone remember the "scratch & sniff" raspberry on their album cover? A classmate of mine back then said Playboy should do the same for their monthly centerfold. One of the best (and funniest) ideas I'd ever heard. We laughed our you know whats off!!!!!
Always loved Eric and the Raspberries!
Me also
fantastic!!!
The center could stand to be a good db louder - the outside is louder than the center, vox not as loud as original. Fellow engineer .02.
.
Your video is as good as audio, FREAKY🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
This makes me want to procreate
This song is sexy as hell
I totally agree
A lost gem by a lost gem of a band. Thank you!
"close your eyes and be still?" love the song.
hate to ask..but any The Archies...songs..would lke to see what ya can do with things lke Jingle Jangle or Sumer Prayer for Peace..or one big Family..thanx
I don't have Archies classics on CD but if I come across them I'll be sure to do a few. Kenn
Great work, keep them coming .
Raspberries music was energetic.
Yeah--blistering power of guitar, drums & vocals! They were a beautiful combination of power, artistic composition and beautiful tight harmonies and
melodic themes. This is completely missing in today's trashy, mediocre
garbage!
Dale. It still is. I listen their music all the time and I become energized to do yard work LOL.
Just great....Thanks!!!!
Sounds great! Much of The Raspberries catalog doesn't sound great.
I love this song!!!!
Like it except you took all most of that wonderful Rickenbacker 12 string out ???
me like, asssome
you had to be there at master!! perfect?
fell instantly in love when I first heard this song..was 13 going thru puberty..after all these years it still brings a smile
This in my opinion was their best song-----the pinnacle of 70's power pop! These guys were so under rated
@edriant1916 They were a really good band. I really think we got lucky. Our parents listened to Armstrong and Sinatra who we grew into and we got Motown, the Stones, Frampton, Clapton, Springsteen, the Ramones and even the Sweet and our kids got what? Boy did they get ripped off. The Rasberries were a good band.
@Huawei is a criminal organization. totally agree-----It's sad , a lot of people know the song, but have no idea who sang it
@Huawei is a criminal organization. I agree 100% ---- our generation saw so many great phases of music. Or should I say originality , today is just pathetic-----everyone sounds the same
@NM156 modernly, the formula drivers are calling the shots for what they think will make them money, BUT ... sooner or later the musicians will get fed up ... As I say, the kids of today really got the shaft! ) -: Want to know a secret, trap your kids in the car and it gets brainwashed in. I did that with my kids, the Beach Boys, jazz, Motown Sam Cooke, and a few others. Most of it stuck. Especially with the younger kids. A funny trick is what they are currently doing with kids movies ... the soundtracks. What they put in there is different from the old days when it was scored for each movie. They are dumping the 70's (primarily) in there. That is how my daughter discovered Springsteen, Reo Speedwagon, Journey, "Come and Get Your Love", "Brandy", ABBA and others ... even the Beatles ... there's hope brother! There was a lot of crap in those days too, it's just way worse now.
LINDO SOM, MUSICA LINDA , TEMPOS MUITO BOM.
Si, tambien'
damn good band
This is Rock and Roll. Not that crap Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath.
Nittany America Zeppelins real real good Sabbath. Ehh but Zeppelin is great lol I respect your opinion though
Nittany: I like the Raspberries. But, I can’t agree with your definition of R&R. Many people consider Led Zeppelin to be the best Rock band ever. No offense intended.
great song!
They need to be in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame! They're a Cleveland band FFS!
freakin' Cleveland put out a ton of great bands back in the day !!...I remember in high school driving with friends all the way from Brooklyn (67') to see a bunch of bands like " The Outsiders" ( time won't let me) .. what a road trip
AWESOME HARD-DRIVING ROCK!!!!!
Still wonderful today!
I saw Eric do this at the Cleveland Agora in December 1975. This the best version I have heard since.
Oh I'm so jealous! LOL. Anyone know if he or they play out anymore?
What a great job man...killer song to start with. but this makes it better.
Awesome band. Way underrated
this x hippi says cool man lol
hippies didn't like this music !. lol 👍
blast from the past ...
Thank you, it sounds so great! I always loved this song!
great job remastering, killer song
Great song!! You did an excellent job of re-mastering. How long does it take you to do one?
The average is about 6-8 hours for the audio then about 2 hours to gather photos for the video. Kenn
cinematic35, wow, appreciate all your hard work !
Rene LaPlante *
What did you change from the original?
Why?
*
Another great job, KENN!!!
This is excellent work!!!
Glad you like it Phil! The Raspberries were quite rock and roll act and I just try to push them up the ladder even higher!
+cinematic35 you have brought a smile of joy & happiness to many with your skill of remastering classics..bless you
1972 I wanna be with you!!!!!
excellent work sir!!!
Great work! How about Eric's "She Did It" or "Make Me Lose Control" or R'berries "Crusin' Music" ??? Can't imagine the expertise and inspiration that goes into your craft. My hats off to you, Kenn! Much appreciated!
Wonderful re-mastering...thanks for posting 😀
Kenn, can you do "She Loves You" by the Beatles?? Please? Your ENHANCED VERSIONS ARE THE BEST!!!
I made an enhanced stereo version of "She Loves You" and a bunch of other Beatles early classics but I've been told they are all blocked by the record company! Kenn
Great job! have you done any Grass Roots???? the other greatest band ever!
No I haven't done any Grass Roots and they have great classics. Too many great groups and songs to choose from!
The Grass Roots did not play the instruments that were heard on their records. The instruments were played by professional studio musicians. They had several great songs. But, “the other greatest band ever” ? They weren’t really a band.
Nice work!
WOOOOHOOOO!!!!
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it! Thanks!! Awesome timeless song. Now it's clear.
Glad you like it. I wish I had spent more time in tracking out the drum part better.Kenn
it's a shame The Raspberries originals are pretty muddy sounding, but you have done a good job cleaning them up
Man, those images are BOSS, daddy-o!!!
like this song from my childhood but it always sounded like they used poor equipment when it was recorded this sounds much better thanks for taking the time to clean it up.
Had this 45 record as well as "Overnight Sensation". Then bought the album cut out around a picture of a basket of strawberries (Side 3 was the name I believe)! It had the song "Tonight" on it. Finally bought my favorite song though "Go All The Way" way after it was released!
Sounds really great from a band that should have been even bigger than they actually were. Very good re-mastering job!
This sounds great!
