Raitt, Bonnie - You Got To Be Ready For Love (If You Wanna Be Mine) Lyrics
You got to be ready
You got to be ready, yeah
This woman don't like no nonsense
I like lovin' every day
To proove you're giving my love away
What more can I say
Except you got to be ready for love
If you wanna be mine (ready baby)
You got to be ready for love
If you wanna be mine
You got to be ready
You got to be ready
And I don't think one look is a fellony
And I don't appreciate no rubberneckin', no
'Bout a man, when he's with me
Out in the street
Except you got to be ready for love
If you wanna be mine (be ready baby)
I said you got to be ready for love
If you wanna be mine
You got to be ready
You got to be ready
Ready for love
Ready for love
Got to be ready for love
You got to be ready
You got to be ready
You got to be ready
You got to be ready, yeah
You got to be ready for love
If you wanna be mine
You got to be ready for love
If you wanna be mine (be ready baby)
Can't be a cold lover
Just like my old lover
If you wanna be mine
You got to get ready
You got to stay ready
If you wanna be mine (be ready baby)

Raitt, Bonnie You Got To Be Ready For Love (If You Wanna Be Mine) Comments
I'd already been into the blues trenched soulful Bonnie Raitt sound before Streetlights and to be honest wasn't ready for this up town style but this whole collection is so well produced and years down the road, it fits. Having "Taking my time" just before this it was an eye opener but it also showed a side of Bonnie Raitt, she was such a great singer and could tackle so many styles, "What is success," man, such a gifted singer more polished than its predecessors and she was choosing different producers that Warner Brothers attempted to generate more attention(and sales) but Bonnie took Angel from Montgomery as one of her show stoppers on stage. All these years, STREETLIGHTS still sounds so good. James Taylor's Rainy day man and Joni Mitchell's "That song about the midway "took these covers into another place and kept Bonnie evolving into the interpreter singing with few peers. Jerry Ragovy production from the 70's stands the test of time, different for Bonnie but still a gem...
This girl can sing anything. This song is unabashedly in the rhythm and blues or soul category. She does blue grass country and pop... An amazing artist.
This whole album is fabulous....gotta find a copy of it!
