YouknowhatI'msayin?
So yo, the first thing we gotta do man
Is just know what we gonna do with this cream when we get it man
Right
Cause I'm not trying to just be, sitting on motherfucking two-hundred thou
And acting like I'ma just be a

Raekwon Striving For Perfection Comments
  1. W.... I....

It’s hard to believe that Raekwon & Ghostface were almost like immortal enemies! When I got this record back in high school, I would’ve never thought these two were beefin’ as hard as they were. Destroying the spirit of unforgiveness is a powerful thing.

  2. b.... d....

"Words bond, Iam the eyes out back of u kid"..

  3. 2.... S....

Lmaoo this shit different listening to it when you realize it was Raekwon that shot up ghost crib, much love to both of them.💪🏽

  4. D.... C....

When you hear Ghostface talking about his crib getting shot. Then watch the tv show and realize Raekwon is the one who did it. Mind blown...

    D.... C....

I'm still wondering how they became so tight?????????

    D.... C....

    H.... H....

    @Young Dommy
    That Wu-tang show is dope

    H.... H....

But I honestly feel like that’s what makes the brotherhood between Rae & Ghost so special. Their beef actually brought them closer together, not just as artists, but as real friends in life. Breaking the spirit of unforgiveness is genuinely a beautiful thing, and it shows here.

  9. B.... F....

Now I understand why Rae tries to change the subject when Ghost talks about his Mom's house getting shot up

  37. R.... ....

My top 5 hip hop albums ever since 1995 is still unchanged: 1. Doggystyle 2. Enter The Wu-Tang 3. Only Built For Cuban Linx 4. The Chronic 5. The Predator. But this album probably has the best east coast production of all. Ice Cream, Knowledge God, Criminology, Wu-Gambinos, Glaciers Of Ice mostly. And North Star is probably the best outro track of all time.

    R.... ....

    @cloud y
No, but I changed my taste a bit since then. I mostly only listen to instrumental versions of these albums :D

    R.... ....

    got it
however the beat of this intro is sick

    R.... ....

@cloud y dude had doggystyle as 1 ,what did u expect?

    R.... ....

Do you want instrumentals? And you don't like illmatic? It only have the best producers of the time q-tip, large professor dj premier mixed with the sickest rhymes bro its the best hip hop album ever

  38. L.... R....

i remember 94-95 on the streets of Yonkers with our block radios listening to built for the cuban links, that era was the priceless

    L.... R....

    Call me asap sonia

  39. T.... 2....

    Peace GOD

  40. D.... F....

arguably best Wu album, possibly better than Enter the Wu. Only mistake was letting Nas go first on Verbal Intercourse, because he killed everyone before they even had a chance.

    D.... F....

Liquid Swords is #1, although I respect your opinion and rate this as #3 solo from the clan( dirty as #2) I believe GZAs demonstration of swordplay is far superior and its clearly shown on LS and all album's to this date.

    D.... F....

Have we forgotten about 36 Chambers? This is great, brought me Back for another go after 20 years. But 36c is #1, then I'll hear arguments for #2.

    D.... F....

    David Foster facts!🤣🤣🤣

    D.... F....

Not a mistake at all. Nas was a solo hero, an amazing fighter from the North. The Wu Tang wasn’t afraid to acknowledge his legendary skill and let him go first. They still hold and protect the Shaolin Temple, but Nas is a legend in his own right. This was about respect. And honor. Wu-Tang!!

  41. r.... ....

Comparison to the non-hiphop music of today known as crunk, trap, drill, etc, which are heavily criticized, downplayed, and considered as degrading to Hip-hop, and is degrading to those who live by the musics' concepts: having been raised during the Cuban Link album era, I can evidently say that this album is equivalently as degrading as the music of today, lyrically and conceptually.  Thinking you can use self degrading content such as the theme of this album and applying it with numerous elements of figures of speech in your raps to convey self degradation, and then identifying your ability to rap as if it is better than the self degrading raps of today is an oxymoron.  Frankly, from this era in Hip-hop music is where the filth and horror had already started; specifically with the promotion and popularity of NWA.  If you know that RZA and GZA's singles on their first album before the self degrading content of the WU Tang Clan album were "I love you Raheem," and "Come do me," respectively, you can obviously see what occupied their state of minds before the NWA infiltration of mainstream Hip-hop.

Why do people go on YouTube just to bitch and complain about something? Its like they watch a video just to find crap to bitch and complain about. Why don't y'all shut the Fuck up and let others enjoy the shit

    r.... ....

@Nick Felix proving your own point ROFL

    r.... ....

Unfortunately, you are all either part of the lost generation of hip hop or you are not a relative of any generation of hip hop, because you don't respect the history of how hip hop originated in former gang infested areas in the Bronx.  For instance, when former gang members in the Bronx realized that street culture was degenerate, self degrading and destructive, and a one way, two roads trip to the cemetery or prison, they who are the originators of Hip Hop stop participating in street culture that includes the drug game, gangs, and terrorizing your own neighborhoods, and then involved themselves in constructive full-of-life activity that transpired into Hip Hop. Hip-hop eliminated gangs in the Bronx and eventually all of them throughout New York. Afrika Bambatta once held high rank in the black spades gang, one of the largest gangs that existed in New York.  Did he or any relevant rapper during the 70's and early 80's glamorize or promote street culture...no!  He disassociated himself from the streets and engaged in activity that was conducive to Hip Hip.  Since the mainstream promotion of NWA and the Chronic album by Dr. Dre, we lost generations of hip hoppers who degrade themselves by identifying as niggas, promote street culture, and admire gangs.  If you advocate the admiration of street culture in your raps, you can call it art as much as you like, but it is not Hip Hop.
