Radiohead - Super Collider Lyrics
Super collider
Dust in a moment
Particles scatter
Parting from the soup
Before the heavens crack open
Thin pixelations
Coming out from the dust
In a blue light
In a green light
In a half light
In a work light
In a B-spin
In a pulse wave
Outstepping
To put the shadows back into
The boxes
I am open
I am welcome
For a fraction
Of a second
I have jettisoned my illusions
I have dislodged my depressions
I put the shadows back into
The boxes

Radiohead Super Collider Comments
when i first heard this i was like....f off radiohead you dont speak for us
One of the best Radiohead song I've discovered yet. I thought I had heard em' all!.
My husband’s body is a work of art in all its pudgy slender berry otter twinky hairy shaved wigged femme bitchy figures glory
My fav Radiohead album. Bloom and Staircase and Supercollider, and my favorite song of all time no matter who the band Seperator.
The King of Limbs is an absolute triumph!
After looking at the comments about the Radiohead v Muse battle, i'm irritated . I love both bands and one of the reasons why Showbiz sounds like the bends is because they were produced by the SAME guy, John Leckie. However, once Kid A and Origin of Symmetry appeared, both the bands took different directions in the music. Muse just was inspired by Radiohead at the time. Have you even LISTENED to Muse's past 4-5 albums before making the assumption that they rip-off Radiohead every song they make!? If you listened to Absolution and HTTF, Black Holes and In Rainbows, the 2nd Law and TKOL, and Drones and AMSP side by side, they are quite different. This whole who-ripped-off-who is ridiculous.
I love this song make me fly <3

9. Codex
10. Give up the ghost
11. Separator
fav Radiohead song!
I always think of a cool ass caterpillar undulating its way along the earth towards the end of the song. Listen for the wormy bass line that comes in. It's great. Def happens somewhere around the 5:00
I don't really know why, but this's one of my favorite song from Radiohead.
This and Staircase, their best single imo.
You know that feeling sometimes you have that imagination that you don't believe in god and just, but later that you explore that god is real and you are invited to heaven. I feel that unideantified feeling, like "what did I do to deserve this".
i remember summer of 2013 tripping out on lsd in my room all night with my studio headphones listening king of limbs and the bends disc 2...
Holy fuck... wish i could experience euphoria again...
Supercollider, dust in a moment - Super acceleratore, polvere istantanea
Particles scatter - Sparpagliamento di particelle
Coming up from the soup - Che risalgono dalla folata
Swimming upstream - Nuoto controcorrente
Before the heavens crack open - Prima che nel Cielo si apra una crepa
Thin pixellation - Sottile trasformazione in pixel
Coming up from the dust - Che risalgono dalla polvere
I put the shadows back into the boxes - Ho rimesso le ombre dentro le scatole
I put the shadows back into the boxes - Ho rimesso le ombre dentro le scatole
I am open, i am welcome - Sono libero, sono gradito
For a fraction of a second - Per una frazione di secondo
I have jettisoned my illusions - Ho abbandonato le mie illusioni
I have dislodged my depression - Ho rimosso la mia depressione
And put the shadows back into the boxes - E ho rimesso le ombre dentro le scatole
I put the shadows back into the boxes - ho rimesso le ombre dentro le scatole
I’ve seen the angel hanging over the balcony - Ho visto l’angelo sospeso sopra il balcone
This is my favorite Radiohead song

Now this is interesting :)
There's no such thing as best song from Radiohead.... They are all best songs, every body agree

Mi ha completamente rincoglionito
I heard Thom blew apart the English language. So now the witches are out, the brew is cast. 'Will I hold the Earth English-Lexicon most high, and prove to you that there is nothing in it, and so nothing to fear?'
It's never old ever thank you Tom yorke
This sounds like the music that would play in a flying level in a sci fi video game.

I’m a traveler of both time and space. Your dreams are manifesting in front of your face.
It’s morning time and your still in bed?
What time will you conquer your, faith?
Don’t be manipulated by them.
Open the door and brake away.
Whats this from?
And someone's doing another one, right now, as you can see, black and white scribbles.
I did one of these versions of Radiohead on a PS 3.this is the very one in fact..the butchers

I've noticed myself recently, especially with radiohead, reading the comments on the videos. Never a bad word. A few crazy comments but all good. I like to see people appreciate the greatness that is Radiohead and music in general. ♥

Best band in the last 40 years
Lol when I saw 7:01 on this I shit myself.
I can hear a little of Stand up sit down in the background
Is The Butcher is an unreleased album or something?
02052017
Master.
To listen to Thom play this live on piano is amazing!
give it a listen, it's lie a totally different song!
Why does Radiohead upload such crappy quality stuff on their channel? I don't get it. This is only 240p.
Radiohead's consistency is amazing. Most other bands don't have that. Even if you're talking about all time greats such as Floyd or Zeppelin. I will admit, the only time I was slightly underwhelmed by one of their albums was The King of Limbs but even that isn't a "bad" album. It just felt incomplete after 4 years.
I just rediscovered the more electronic songs from Radiohead, I missed out on a lot of good stuff!
I am open

: )
Does anyone know the name of the the instrument they play on the beginning of this song?
daaayyum! best band hands down. radiohead themselves might even disagree but they'd be wrong!
Supercollider? I just met her. Then they built the supercollider.
Is Schrodinger's litter box both fresh and soiled simultaneously?
Where's the rest?
On the staircase.

Wow one year gap to each reply
Been listening to these guys since The Bends, but recently really discovered what fantastic musicians they are. Bought every cd I didn't already have from ebay. Fuckin bad ass!!! Blows me out of the water with the talent!
why 240
My copy of this and the butcher is on clear red vinyl
Anyone know about the travel show Globe Trekker (neé Lonely Planet)? Well it had a super triumphant theme song, one of my absolute favorites! This song sounds so much like it!! Has the same chords, albeit in a different.
Anyway! I tried fusing the two on my SoundCloud, it's a simple 4-minute acoustic guitar cover recorded on the phone. It was super fun to figure out and play. :)

"I have jettisoned my illusions

jesus
J Rock posted that on Facebook and my dad thought I was fucked up again and called right away to check on me.
What does that mean?
IMHO, Thom has let go of the habit of expectations and the assured disappointments that usually accompany them, and he is happier having done so.
moonwalker — ライ I think it's more positive, given the overall positive vibe of the song. Thom is saying he's let go of all the negative things that we make up to cloud our lives and distract our minds, and in doing so has found happiness. As he says in the song: "I put the shadows back into their boxes."
man i wanna buy the supercollider/butcher EP but i dont have a vynil player and theres no cd/digital download version
i dont wanna torrent it
[on piracy] "Well a lot of the time, it think the reason that people pirate is they want access to good music and they don't get it because the radio is so shit. And I... I think there's no access to people, you know. The little indie store's shut down like four years ago and people can't buy the record they wanted to and they have to swap music with their friends 'cause it's the only fucking way to do it 'cause nobody wants to, you know, nobody touches the weird shit. So in a way, you know, for us a lot of it is kind of, you know, pre-emption of the radio. You know, they started playing it on the radio here because...it was out the net." -- Thom Yorke, E! Interview, 9/302003, Los Angeles
I will always love this song...
This is literally the greatest song, period.
After being slightly disappointed by how flat The King of Limbs sounded, this, The Daily Mail, Staircase and The Butcher, were much needed. 4 Beautiful songs.
I love TKOL. For me, it was a pretty good album. My favorite Radiohead albums are:
- In Rainbows
- Kid A
- Amnesiac
- TKOL
- Hail To The Thief
+ These are my twisted words
Where is your OKC? Where is your fucking OKC you twisted fuck? I'm just kidding. Everybody has their own likes. I kinda like all their albums except Pablo Honey.
I don't know...so far I'm enjoying the actual album more, but I've also only listened to these extra songs once each, so my opinions are bound to change.
@Climbing Up The Sounds I can never rate Radiohead albums, the ranking always changes depending on how I feel. My top ones are definitely in rainbows, hail to the thief, amnesiac and kid A though. If TKOL had these 4 B-sides it would be up there too
This is essentialy Backdrift's big calm brother. Love both of them to bits.
perfect description
Sure, but "Backdrifts" had a superior drumbeat. lol.
i would look that up if i wasnt sure it was just some video game
epic song!
beat sound melody voice poetry beat silver rainbows of sound
well they sure as hell did it better than Megadeth
@Humpasaurus Rex beat it, kid
This gives me Donkey Kong soundtrack vibes, same with Backdrifts, that's very nice.
radiohead meets latin music. Groovy.
+Darío Gómez I dont see how this has something to do with latin music
+Anthony M. oh, I was talking about drums and bass pattern, and well keyboards and rhythm in general. It's definitely something not coming from europe, or the USA. So, it's pretty uncommon to find this kind of rhythm in Radiohead's music. Maybe not strictly latin, but afrobeat-ish?
+Darío Gómez Im latin myself and I can say that the beat doesn't sounds like something made here, but I see your point, great song nonetheless
+Anthony M. y por qué mierda hablamos en inglés? :V me refería a que me suena entre cumbioso y afrobeatoso ^^ raro en radiohead. Y sí, es una gran canción.
can I just melt with my blanket
GRACIAS POR ESTO!
I only have to say THANK YOU! Thank you for making this beautiful and touching music!
When I was 14 years old I had panic attacks on a daily basis. This song never helped me but hey, it's a good song.
Karl Irwin how were you able to find peace?
@michael stillwell damn
ZER0TV You had me going there. Very funny!
They didn't invent the calendar yet when I was 14.
Sometimes I come back to this song just to read this comment again
Should have been on TKOL
To be fair, it shouldn't have. Not that it's a bad song, I actually like it better than every song from TKOL, but it would have messed up the point of the album. This song sounds drastically different than everything from TKOL, so even though it is better it wouldn't have worked. I think they should have completely scrapped TKOL tbh, that album was a huge miss compared the rest of their discography, and just made an album like this.
For those who are not aware, SuperCollider is a language that allows you to program audio synthesis. It's pretty cool, and pretty difficult too U.U
You just blew my mind, thank you. For the record I think he was inspired by both, the lyrics reflect CERN, the music is almost defiantly algorithmic
Particles scatter coming up from the dust i guess JT is right
and sadly pretty old already... rather check out Sonic Pi, FoxDot, Tidal Cycles
Well I think it's fair to assume that this song could've been made with Supercollider. Radiohead has done plenty of programmed music before, and Johnny Greenwood has talked about how it's something he enjoys.
@dap those arn't lyrics to the song, what are they from?
J T No Doubt!
I see the angels hanging over the balcony. Either that or I am properly baked.
Their B-sides are better than most bands best stuff IMHO. Hard to believe this didn't make the cut along with Staircase, Daily Mail, The Butcher, These are my Twisted Words, etc.
+Sam Dracula
one of the most significant statements in respect of longitudinal recent music history. the 80s, 90,100's. well said that man, you have put into words what many millions have thought!
+Sam Dracula Staircase, mostly, that song is a fucking masterpiece
Staircase is an amazing song
sounds like the globe trecker tv show intro
The greatest band in the last 25 years, no doubt
+71hammyman Gonna say Radiohead is the best band of the last 25 years over The Beatles......mainly because the latter broke up in 1970 ;)
Certainly in the top 5. I'd put Phish up there too.
In the last 125 years
not just one of the greatest but one of the most important bands on the planet!
Everytime I hear Radiohead, its kind of painfully beautiful, like stargazing listening to melancholic tunes. All in my head!
Pardon my French but this is fucking amazing. So uplifting.
We are the all-seeing all dancing crap of the universe.
If you're referring to the Fight Club quote it's all singing, all dancing.
Absolutely Amazing!
This song is about overcoming depression.
Wow! I still have a lot of Radiohead songs to discover. :)
Tell me about it! I've been listening to them since 1993 and I still frequently find 'new' stuff here. Thanks Youtube.
I was foolish enough to think I'd heard them all... missed this EP somehow
B-sides my man, B-sides
Lucky you! 😄
[Worrywort ][Kinetic ][ Pull/Pulk Revolving Doors] thank me later sir :)
The comment sections of these videos are just amazing as the songs they comment about.
I've come to love radiohead over the past few weeks. Somehow I'd missed out on is band. This song bough, it seems like it's about CERN. Idk what to think about that.
