I remember them opening their show in Montréal in 2008 to this song. I thought to myself "They're playing it a little too mellow, there's something missing". It was my third time seeing them at that venue, and the energy level seemed to me very low.


Then 2:25 happened and all the lights went on and that bassline resonated through the crowd and my bones. And it was perfect a perfect opening to an unforgettable night.

These guys are amazingly sharp, I don't even like most live versions of songs I like but with Radiohead the only difference is Thom's ad libs hit rapper level!
Radiohead could have played with James Brown and not been sued.

It's a bullshit "live" thing obv. The cut from the bass (which is badass) to kneeling is apparent. But I like how Tom's trying to throw a bone where it belongs.

This song starts with a techno feeling, then with the second drums played it feels groovy and with the guitar it gets that caribbean reggae feeling. Sheer artistic brilliance.
