One of my favorite QR songs that stands the test of time

I don't think this vid is "Bad". Ok. QR were a different band by the time of III. MH broke thru b/c, IMO, they were a one hit wonder of sorts. I remember this. MH blew up b/c of Randy's connection to the band. Also, that album was hot, smoking with good, hooky songs. Catchy. Rocking. Enough that ppl got into it. Along w/ Def Leppard in 83, QR was THE hot band of the moment. But, LOTS of Hard Rock was coming on. By 84, Motley, Ratt, WASP, others, were taking over. Def L went on hiatus, QR came out TOO SOON w/ Condition Critical. And those interviews Dubrow did, bashing other groups, ruined it for QR. III sold around 400,000 from what I remember reading in 87. WOW; 6 million for Metal Health, 1 Million for CC, 400K for this. And the QR 1988? Probably 50K. FAR FALL OFF!

Anyway this is what happens when the original vision of your band is compromised with yes men, divorce settlements, hasty studio production deadlines, bloated tours, movie producers directing your videos, investing in Clydesdale horses, and yes, shall I mention coke mixed with.lots of cocaine. Fast forward to July of 1993, Quiet Riot is back again at the starting line to create their original musical formula, produces and releases the "Terrorized" album (with minimal success) yet a great album with songs and arraigning we would expect from Metal Health album era. But the dismal results of "Terrorized" comes to no surprise in 1993 ...... for now it is the landscape of Grunge which was already flannel hot.

'You shouldn't be here,' said Theophilus Largeheart, wizrd extroardinire of the Guild of Wizards and Witches of Eternya.

'And you shouldn't practice magic. It's a sin,' replied Archangel Michael, looking over the land in the valley below. He was not far from the top of a hill which had a wizard tower in the Vale of Aldur tradition from the Belgariad, which was Theophilus' home. Theophilus had come down to see the strange visitor who was on the edge of his land, in unclaimed territory, not yet settled, in this area of Eternya – just the way he liked it.

'Isn't Zionistya enough for you Michael?' asked Theophilus. 'I had felt the judgments on the issue were sound enough, and that separation of covenants was the best solution. We were getting along better with separate communties. Why would you want to change that? It's working ok now.'

'I don't intend to change that,' replied Michael. 'Not in any major or significant way. But Eternya is middle ground, and I have judged that at this stage, this far out from centrepoint, it's fair game for Zionistyans to start settling, and competing with the other communities.'

'You are in your legal rights,' said Theophilus, stroking his chin. 'Eternya is a different kettle of fish, of course. It probably won't bother us much if that is what Zionistya wants to do. But Eternity will not like it much. You surely know that.'

'I don't expect them to, and I don't expect that will bother me much, or change the agenda. We'll claim what authroity we can in the end, through perseverance and getting what we can from life. Saruviel and Daniel won't have it all their way.'

'Argue that with Samael of Infinity. He doesn't let eternity up much. They often find it challenging when they do, and we don't like it much up there at all. Very strict and much expected. Far more happy with Eternya's pace of things. We don't judge nearly half as much. Why I expected you guys not to care being at the bottom anymore. Figured the suffering servant has had enough and is over it.'

Michael continued surveying the valley. 'We generally are, if you must know. I'm making a more rationale decision in that respect. Logical ways of furthering our postion from, forgive me, an eternal mindset. What works eternally well for us.'

'Eternya will probably accept you,' said Theophilus. 'But I personally like the peace and quiet of my region. I know you are probably going to buy that valley down there. I can see it in your eyes. But futher along is a lot of nice greenery. If you do build here, promise me only a quiet hutlet, with maybe some levites. Rabbis I can live with. They are sedate enough.'

Michael looked at Theophilus. 'Ok. I agree to that. What is your name?'

Theohailus of the guild of wizards and witches. Typical Belgariadian style.'

'I understand,' said Michael. 'I will be building a castle down there, and a middle ages village will settle. I see your stylings, and will go with your general flow of things.'

'Thank you for that mercy,' replied Theophilus, and turned and started making his way up the hill. He paused, and turned to Michael. 'Come and visit once you are settled in. We'll have a feast of turkey and things, and chat about things. I have much knowledge you might not yet know.'

'Sounds good,' said Michael, and Theophilus smiled, continuing his way up the hill.

Michael looked at the valley again. 'Life moves on,' he said himself.

And the wind blew in the leaves of the trees nearby.

The Twilight Hotel Album by Quiet Riot - Based on songs about the guests of the Twilight Hotel. Similar in ideas to the album Welcome to my Nightmare by Alice Cooper and 80s QR songs. The classic lineup, done in the impending World to Come.

I remember this video! I thought it had the guy from Quiet Riot. I haven't seen this since.....1988...? I was like 8 years old and my older brothers always watched MTV. All I remembered was some mean little girl who kept this guy in a shoe box and dudes were banging their heads on a wall. Finally found the video!! Thank you for uploading this! I had an awesome childhood growing up in the 1980s. Being a teen in the 1990s sucked ass with grunge killing rock/metal and then gangsta rap (and all the wannabes and wiggers that followed) and hip hop becoming...and staying...mainstream pop culture.

i can't agree more. always knew it, but ya know, the wannabes like it that way. sad

Oh well. Just makes it more of a treasure to us.

No fucking way, they finally posted this amazing and creative video on youtube! For the longest time I'd have to go to daily motion in order to see it. This song and video is what got me into Quiet Riot. Kept seeing it on Metal Mania when it was still VH1 Classic.

I liked the Quiet Riot from the US 83 time. I wasn't listening to them by 1984 they lost it fast for my taste ..Party All Night and shit like that..... and to be fair I never really listen to them except for a couple of rockin tunes from somebody's tape... but they have some great rocking stuff ...this song just leaves me disappointed...and I got zero negativity for them, they rock.... I bet you their management and the record label turn them that way... Carlos, the guitar player probably did not want it to be that way..but...at least he was talked about at the time...for good and bad...but at least was talked about....not now..except for Ratt history fiasco... This song was not in heavy rotation in 1986 for a reason....when Guitars Ruled the world...Carlos missed out...he could have been bigger, Carlos sure could've had bigger moments. Anyway good vibes to Carlitos Cavazos for his work. Im giving this a thumbs up.
