Quicksand - Dine Alone Lyrics

It's a cinch
To, pass the time with you
But hard to pass the time alone
Can you take it
And it's true
True, the couple next to you think you look strange
Alone, what are your aims
Or do you have any

Avoid confusion
You always know
Always know how much your paying
I concentrate on
On, what the people say
The couple next to me

Pass the salt
Pour it in my wounds
It looks like you have no friends
Can't keep up with the new trends
Sorry, sorry, for myself I don't agree
No, I always go out eating with my best friends
It's less than normal

Avoid confusion
You always know
Always know how much your paying
I concentrate on
On, what the people say
The couple next to me

Avoid confusion
You always know
Always know how much your paying
I concentrate on
On, what the people say
I think at times

"Pass the salt, pour it in my wounds..." I received this cd for Christmas (as well as Pearl Jam's second album) of 1993. I'd no clue who Quicksand was, but caught on effortlessly. I wore this particular song OUT.

    Michael Weaver

their best song, in my opinion

    joe strummer

Well, the guys in the band are all older than you. And let's face it...no one under 35 is even watching this anyways

    8591aic

+joe strummer wrong, I'm 26. Saw the cassette at a thrift store and bought it for the cover art judging the music would be good just because of that. Wasn't disappointed.

  81. astronomerorama

    eeleven reach out

  82. TheGreaterGood80

Back when post-hardcore meant good and original bands instead of a bunch of moppy-haired douchebags with stupid tattoos whining over dumb breakdown riffs.

    critical of onions

    Amen to that

    Garrett Wilson

+dhoulmagus11 White Lung-Deep Fantasy is a really good modern post-hardcore record

    AJ the Marauder

Now post-hardcore means pierce the veil and a day to remember. Fuck that bullshit! lol

    reptameuck

oh my, that's the real definition of nowadays post-hardcore :0
    (so sad...)

    lonewizzard

Love it, still own and listen to these classics, pure genius bands from that era, timeless in every sense of the word.

  87. Michael Gallegos

    Love this band.

  88. Phillip Richardson

Gosh, I still remember the first time I heard this song. Went and got the album the next day. Totally blew me away. This band never got the respect they deserved. Totally sucks they called it quit after only two albums.

    Natural86

    they're back!

    Memento Mori

I’m glad they’re back. I’m not young but I knew about them from the new album on Spotify

  89. Jason Kranzberg

take it from an old man.  one of the most influential bands ever.   this is a fact.

    Bickel Louis

    You stare correct

    MrLeadghost

@Brian Barby i saw them as moondog once back then and i think i might still have the 45 somewhere

    Edson Hernández

    For sure

    Luca Tricky

@Anihilist I KNOW WALTER personally since 1989 during the Gorilla Biscuits days, i was staying with the guys when Quicksand played one of the earliest gigs in august 1990 at the Ritz in NYC. Walter is so a talented artist and did not gain the deserved attention.

    Reverend Benzo

    You're senile.

  90. Pix saoul-hunter

    it's a fucking song !!!!

  91. Contrariwise37

Starting to think most 'modern mainstream rock' groups are just ripoffs of Quicksand. Especially Chevelle.

    justin ellis

Now that I go back and listen again in the first time since the 90s. I totally agree!

    mark spannar

    Chevelle who?

    Chad deez

I can think of about 5 bands from the early 2000s including Chevelle that were heavily influenced by Quicksand. I hate to say "ripped off". Every band contributes their style.

    Edson Hernández

Chevelle is a really good band as well as Quicksand

    Ed Nards

It is why these guys sound a lot like the recent bands.

  92. Nathan Petersen

    Sergio vega !

  93. Kaleb Brady

My friends uncle is friends with the lead singer so i might be able to meet him one day!

    Scott Stephens

Did you ever meet him? lol

  94. FRED RODRIGUEZ

Awesome band with 2 great albums imo there second album had an even better collection  of songs on it but was not recorded as well as there first and the fact they stopped recording realy sucks

  95. Modimus Prime

so this is where korn got their idea for a sound, huh?

    Marco Peláez Fernández

Korn is making mediocre music now. First and second album are legendary imo..After those everything became more and more mainstream..

    Parkway Driver

Modimus Prime korn had best sound in 1999

    Kolby K

+Precious Moments Yeah, Korn is pretty bad.

    sebas

    Yes, but poorly applied.

    bassage13

    Ewwww. Korn was always garbage.

  96. Eric Dahlstrom

love this a band..and rival schools. even handsome.

  97. samdavjunjun

my god I wish they still made music.

    Chris Wootton
