I love this song and also in the Hands of God. They are true Queensrÿche gems. What happened was such a pity.... One of my favourite bands that became mental.... It's so bad, they were an incredible band when they played together dedicated to their job and who respected the fans . I saw them in Paris (France) in 2004 They played a longer concert than originally planned because the band that was to open for them couldn't make it on time. Best of luck to both bands ...

this is an epic song that really has emotion and humanity...

This song by itself is better than the whole last Queensryche album (selftitled). Honestly this song here is pure Queensryche with the original voice and feeling. I dont care what people say about Tate, this guy has a unique voice and its the voice of Queensryche. I think that time proved that Todd is just an imitator of Tate's voice and nothing new,,,, although he has a great voice he cannot fill in for Geoff, lets be serious.Hope he ll sing with a more personal style in the new album.Good luck to the both bands. peace

It's almost comical to read the comments of all these haters that think this music sucks. It is evident that these people have allowed themselves to be utterly consumed by sensationalism and had not grown to actually develop for themselves a soul. I wonder how many of these Tate bashers also claim to love Pink Floyd, because if you cannot appreciate this music, then there is no way in Hell you appreciate Pink Floyd. And Pink Floyd has been hands down recognized almost universally as one of the greatest rock bands of all time. This song in particular, "Weight of the World", can easily fall into such a category with its emotion, ethereal creativity and drive. And as much as I have always loved Pink Floyd, this song in particular smacks of a modern PF vibe. It's sharp around the edges, has good dynamics, and is yet easy and relaxing in its rhythms.

Of course, you know the Toddryche cock suckers will come on here and attack me... because QR camp have their trolls doing their dirty work for them as they sit casually with their interviews and claim that they are not even concerned about Tate's endeavors. These trolls will say that I don't know shit about music and that I'm deaf, stupid, or whatever condescending trash they will come up with. It's expected. They will also say, "Oh no. Geoff has done more than enough to trash his own career. He doesn't need any help." All while denying their actual devotions, which is nothing more than cheap demagoguery. Pay no attention to them, and just allow yourself to listen a few times ot he songs. Let yourself soak it in, and once the music actually settles... if you have a soul... you will come to realize and appreciate it fir the true artistry that this is.

Well, as happened to us, we are the source itself. I'm sending you the link to the print screen of matter that promoted the concert and a copy of the reply of the complaints we made to Groupon, which was also selling the tickets. They can be accessed on their page. The complaints in HOB were by phone and in person. So, unfortunately, we can not show them. They claimed it was a mistake of "communications adviser" of the band and only released because they did not know that the information was false. I wanted to have a copy of tickets to scan and send you but at the time, everyone who chose to take the money back, had to return the tickets. Oh my!!! They need to change your "marketing team" urgently so that things do not worsen further.
I wonder how a band whose members are accustomed to the best marketers, for 30 years, were so "careless and naive." Poor guys" ...
I also think that if they believe in their new singer, just work hard, start composing new things, of quality and fall on the road with vigor. They need to stop comparing La Douche with Tate, forget the past glories of the real QR and reinvent itself. Conquer other public because the true fans of Ryche, who accompanied him for years, the diehard lovers, like me,, never follow this new band the same way.
I'm ridiculously excited, waiting for the new GT trilogy. I'm fascinated by that fantastic man and I will follow him forever. A big hug for you

@Rob Mason I find it ironic that you accuse me of lacking integrity when you consistently and constantly throw insults at me like a 12 year old despite the fact I said nothing of the sort towards you. That shows an incredible level of insecurity. Maybe you should take a long look at your own life before you start making assumptions about others, no? It might do you some much needed good.

Secondly, Tate is not an original member because he was not among DeGarmo and the others when they founded the band name Queensryche. I never said he wasn't the first vocalist, but he is not a founding member in the legal sense. If your going to be so anal and argue with me, you should do some research instead of jumping down my throat, lol! He came after the fact when the group was putting together the self-titled EP, and even then they were keeping the door open for others in case he decided not to stay (he ultimately decided to once the EP began gaining traction sales-wise). That's been documented on numerous occasions both on the band's official website and multiple interviews over the years. Don't like it? Too bad so sad.

Still, you (like every other hardcore Tate fan I've met) always avoids answering the key question in all this: why should Geoff Tate deserve any respect at this point beyond the albums he did with the band when they were actually all on the same page and Tate's family wasn't trying to turn Queensryche into the "family" business at the expense of everything else from the 2000's onward? Should I respect him as an individual for trying to oust the rest of the band and sell off the Operation: Mindcrime rights to an animation studio for his own personal gain? Should he get a pat on the back for lashing out with a knife against Scott Rockenfield in Brazil back in 2012 after the band took steps to protect themselves from the Tate family attempting to steal their livelihoods? Maybe we have different definitions of "integrity", but Geoff's behavior doesn't strike me as anything worth respecting. If your going to follow him because you like his individual musical direction, that's fine....but please don't lie to yourself and to me and tell me that he's somehow the one in the "right" in the whole split situation, because anyone who bothered following the court case and associated details knows Geoff fucked up at every possible level both professionally and otherwise. It takes a lot of effort to screw things up so much that you divide the band's fanbase into the equivalent of the Republican and Democratic parties, but that's how badly he handled things.

As far as the voice training stuff goes, why are you calling me a "whiny bitch" when you went ahead and validated what I said? Geoff Tate has had more professional vocal training than Todd from both his pre-Myth years and also going forward into his 20's as well. As far as I know, Todd didn't have any of that. He's pretty humble about it, but very few people could have stepped up the way Todd did. He's a more traditional sounding metal vocalist than Geoff, but he works really well. The only people who would have been better would have been Lance King or perhaps Chris Salinas. Hence, my point still stands. It looks to me like your the one being a "whiny bitch" because you don't like the overall implications. I'd tell you to grow up, but I'm not going to make any assumptions about your age or situation in life. Guess who wins in the integrity department? Hint: It isn't you.

So, as a real fan who has no illusions about being "big", and also as an individual who could care less about the insults you throw at me due to some weird inferiority complex you throw around over YouTube, I'll throw your own words right back at you: if you can't handle a real conversation, then you need to piss off and take your overinflated ego with you. I've listened to this CD 4 or 5 times. Each time going into it hopeful ; but the end result I feel disgusted when its finished.  Each time I told myself I wouldn't listen to it again, but here I am again.   Never again!   Time to go listen to some real Queensryche.

Great song. It is a pity that Chris Poland did not permanently join the line-up. He would have fitted in perfectly, musically. And Geoff is still one of the best vocalists in all rock. I would like to hear this song live!

I can't believe Geoff has turned Queensryche into a modern day Yes! Didn't you learn from their mistake!! To all others, doing business with family is a mistake! Also a band isn't one person! That's why you have solo albums! To do what you want to do on the side! As a band you do what the band wants to do as a whole, unless they are writing something that you physically can't sing. If for example the notes are much too high...

It's the same as Ace Frehley wasn't the original guitarist of KISS because they had Ron Leejack in Wicked Lester but as far as I know QR NEVER had a singer before Geoff.

Without a singer, the core group of Mike, Scott and Ed tried out different people in the band like local Bellevue guitar shredder James “Jim” Nelson, and played some parties without a singer. Eventually, Wilton reached out to his former Joker bandmate Chris DeGarmo to see if he and his D-H-W singer Mark Hovland wanted to jam. With Hovland deferring to Eddie Jackson on the bass, Hovland became the dedicated front man vocalist in CROSS+FIRE.

CROSS+FIRE went on to play a few local shows. They did excellent versions of Krokus covers like "Rock City" and "Headhunter.” Hovland left soon after because he had to commute quite a ways from the Renton area, and wasn't as fond of Iron Maiden as the others (being a Maiden fan was kind of pre-requisite in those days).

The year was now 1981 and CROSS+FIRE re-named their new band “The Mob,” after the Black Sabbath song. With the new company I formed called M-80 Productions, I promoted the first of many multi-band rock festivals in Bellevue around that time. I was 19 then. The first one was called METALFEST '81. I offered both Babylon and The Mob two of the three prime time slots at the show. The top headliner was Adam Brenner's new band TKO. The only problem for The Mob was that they had no vocalist at the time.
With the big show coming up, the guys in The Mob gathered up their courage and called Jeff (Geoff) Tate to ask if he could sit in that night and sing one set with them. Tate very graciously said no problem. He figured it would be cool to sing with two bands in one night.

Tood could NEVER come up with a piece of art like this, if Geoff would have took his time and put together a better band and worked a little more on the songs this could have been a damn good disc instead of just ok, is this the KK solo? kinda has his riff style.

The K.K. solo is on "Running Backwards" (such an apt name for a song, as it describes the current state of Tate's music career perfectly), and it's the only good part of the song. Matter of fact, it's one of only three or four good parts of this entire shit album.

As for Todd not being able to come up with a comparable piece of art, listen to "A World Without" from the self-titled QR album. This song is okay (for a Jason Slater-penned tune, anyway), but "A World Without" blows it away. Has far more of a traditional QR sound to it.

I'm thankful the guys met long ago to write and perform great music. I hope they work it out. Airing someone's dirty laundry seems cool until its your's.

I saw them twice on the same tour at Birmingham Odeon with Dio and have seen them many times since. The last time with Tate on Priests last tour (he was truly awful). And again last week where they were amazing, a breath of fresh air and playing like a band, not a singers support band. This track is a plodding meaningless mess.

Geoff tate is Queeunsryche and this is indicative of that.Saw them live in 1984 on their debut tour supporting Dio(ironic in itself really) at the great Hammersmith Odeon in London and I remember thinking to myself that this was one of those rare bread vocalists that will be around for a very long time and beocme an icon in the genre.So for all the haters you should wake up and realise that this is a dying classical artistic great of a now bygone era.Appreciate his talent.there aren't many left

I have LOVED Queensryche since the first time I heard them way back in the 80's but, while very strong as the bands voice, Geoff has always been an ego-trip waiting to happen. Chris DeGarmo did all the good writing back then, Geoff got all the credit. I can see why Chris left. Most people just listened to the voice. They never heard the music...Now the truth comes out.

Correction....Queensryche has been done since Chris DeGarmo left. Geoff Tate is just trying to cling to what should've been. The rest of the band is doing it still. I was a HUGE Queensryche fan back in the Degarmo Days. Geoff was a god then. Sadly, all that remains of what was once a stellar band are two plain facts... 1) QR has never been any good since Degarmo's departure and 2) Tate has completely lost it. This whole album is nothing short of mindless drivel and fodder for the refuse heap.

The only track on F.U. I liked. Why couldn't the rest of the album been at this level or better? It's not even that great on its own (on par with some of the better stuff on Tribe maybe), but at least it proves that Geoff's not a complete lost cause. Maybe there's hope yet...

In any case, listened through the new self-titled: blows F.U. right out the asshole and down the toilet. Better luck next time Tate ol' buddy...maybe you'll learn something from this.
