Queens Of The Stone Age - Long Slow Goodbye Lyrics
Where have you gone again my sweet?
Everybody wants to know
Where have you gone again my sweet?
Everybody wants to know
Where you gone?
I'm just a ghost, i'm on your street
Waitin', when you comin' home?
Gone so long
Where you gone?
On a long slow goodbye?
On a long slow goodbye...
In every voice, i hear you speak
Waitin' by the telephone
I close my eyes, i just can't sleep
All night long
Where you gone?
I close my eyes, i just can't sleep
Where have you gone again my sweet?
On a long slow goodbye?
On a long slow goodbye...
Goodbye

Queens Of The Stone Age Long Slow Goodbye Comments
Agora preciso de pessoas como eu: de verdade. Somente e apenas.
When I was little my dad would show me music like nirvana, foo fighters, and queens of the stone age, and he would play guitar and to this song, and i would play the tambourine. Now my parents broke up after arguing so much and I miss him, he's still alive but he's never really there for me...
What an incredible song!1!! The falsetto, the lyrics, the music compliments it all, tying it together!! Bike. Ur. Drive
Playing this at a party and the people love it
What makes this song so special, Is if you sing along with it and are within a few cents of the tones, the sound vibrates in the air enough to shake window glass. It's the notes used. The same thing can happen if you nail Caribou by Pixies.
Hauntingly delicious
one of my favorites
i got the queens as a tattoo. this band never stops for me.
Miss Bourdain so much. It should have never happened. Cool tribute.
Very John Barryish, QOTSA style.
It's still so good
the glitch at 4:10 is magic
RIP Anthony Bourdain just saw a video where Josh played this song for him after he died
A piece of beauty in this overworked horrible existence that we currently reside within. True love.
Wandet -} nice band
Exquisite masterpiece. Ingenious tribute to a man as fine as the song.
Rip Natasha rip Anthony
με αυτο το τραγουδι ερωτευτηκααα παιδιααααα, αντε γεια μεμεεεεε.....
Miss you LB... will never forget when we trail blazed the earth....
Here is the solo acoustic version, amazing
https://youtu.be/FeGpQDQvkK8
RIP Tony
Tony Montana?
I'm sure this band has single handedly made musicians from their innovative music. These guys kept their vision. Also the chemistry they have is pretty remarkable.
Played at ×1.25 is some jazzy shit man.
Thank you CNN for giving this song new life, a forgotten gem.
It sounds like brian jonestown massacre... Both kickass!
They use this on CNN for Anthony Bourdains final episodes. Such a perfect song.
I've been looking for this song for a couple days... I'm so glad I finally found it.
Ryan Cadogan same
Such a perfect choice. *cries*
Not happy my favorite band was used on fake news. Kmsl
@Subliminal Living bet you're ok with right wing bullshit though
REST IN PEACE ANTHONY BOURDAIN!
I play this to go to sleep.
It's better to have loved and lost...apparently. then never loved at all. The ghosts of old exs grab my tonsils from within whenever I try singing this song. Gone but not relinquished
Tonsils pulled. probably your adenoids.
Phone off the hook at the end...Perfect
It's also how the song starts if you've ever listened to the album.
funeral song
I think this is my fav QOTSA song.. It IS underrated in my opinion haha.
RIP Anthony Bourdain
All good music is underrated, gives us music junkies something to do.
My lifestory
RIP ANTHONY BOURDAIN
RIP Tony!

Gipsy chica con culo gordo...!!
I love you Gipsy Girl!! :D <3
Making love at the end of a
breakup.Long slow goodbuy, beautiful
you missed the end.
There are only a few people on this world listening to this music. And the others missed something in their life.
i dont know what to be more upset over, your friends dislike of QOTSA and anything-Homme...or his blatant lack of disregard for the english language lol. I almost cant figure that one out....sounds like one of those black dudes with marbles in his mouth and pants down to his knees....Drake is greatest ever to them lol.
I am glad I was born with brain-cells and a taste for good music (that sounds sorta elitest I know but...) lol I grew up on all the classic arena rock bands of the 70s, punks early roots, classic 60s rock...everything from Floyd to Radiohead. 60s through to the 2000s. I worked at a record shop for years....love watching live bands (I got to see Alice in Chains with original lead singer Layne Staley in 1995, a year before their unplugged and eventual hiatus. I've seen Metallica live many times (Metallica's 1986 album "Master of Puppets" was the first actual CD I ever bought. ....(their first Austin, TX show was shit) but....they are ok. I got to see RUSH. Phish, Gorillaz, Daft Punk, Cage the Elephant, Black Sabbath Reunion tour, The Wallflowers (Tom Petty 5 years ago before passing away recently). I've seen Foo Fighters, I was a huge Nirvana fan growing up....I was born 1978...so in 1991, 1992, 1993 (grunge era) Smashing Pumpkins, Early Weezer, Mudhoney, Sonic Youth, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Bush, Days of the New, SIlverchair, all of that. early The Cure , all the way to present Modest Mouse (I've seen them twice). Great band (love Isaac Brock). From 2002-2007 this album Lullabies to Paralyze the album before it (2002's) Songs for the Deaf and Radiohead's 2007 - In Rainbows and Radioheads 2003 "Hail to the Thief" along with Mars Volta (2003) "De-loused in the comatorium" and 2005's "Frances the Mute" those albums dominated my CD player for years. Modest Mouse's 2000 album "The Moon & Antartica" is great as well. I could talk albums and bands for years...I'm 40 years old now...music has always been a big part of my life...
It's people like your supposed friend (I hope your not being sarcastic) like Franklin from GTA or some shit lol but if your friend really talks/responds like that....it doesn't give me much hope for the future. lol
They are okay but Kyuss ( another band not well known) kicks their fucking asses. Just my opinion.
TIME IS THE ALCOHOL ON MY SELF INFLICTED WOUND...
So true. Right
Your godamn right!
If I ever become a fugitive in Australia on the run I want this song playing in my Jeep as I travel through the Australian outback while wearing myself a straw hat and having a straw in my mouth with a bottle of XXXX Gold in the beer holder.
Very wolf creek of ya
hold on, beer holder? you're driving
@lil pingy xxxx gold is mid-strength, sloth lord is being responsible
Jeep (incorrect, ute), Straw in mouth (incorrect, dart), Beer holder (incorrect, hand or mouth), XXXX Gold (incorrect, Daewoo)
classic
When I die, I've asked to be cremated and have my ashes made into a vinyl that plays this song.
oh, that's really cool!!
I love the meta of that idea
Let's do it together, bud...
Oh...
Hot.
Sheer class.
I don't know who you are but I... I think... I love you.
Singer's voice in this song reminds me of Chris Cornell
I love Chris. I love Josh. You're nuts.
+Travis Dorsey I'm with you Travis...love both singers. just not close to sounding similar.
He sounds a little bit like him but still very far off as both Josh Hommes (The lead singer of Queens Of The Stone Age) and Chris Cornell are both very unique singers often sounding very different. Not to mention, both do different types of music as Josh does music that is all Bluesy and completely encapsulating the whole desert experience while Chris mainly sticks to Alternative Rock as well as some Heavy Metal here and there during his career.
I think it's the song. Chris Cornell would have sung this really well
What a Bad Ass song by a BAD ASS BAND!!!!!!!!!!!
N
A fucking CLASSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is a skip at 4:12. This is unacceptable.
+TheVikingDoctor fuckin bullshit, fuck u Vouyon
2/10 day ruined
Good ears, man. There was an mp3 that went around years ago that had the skip, this is that mp3.
Lol, l had that one too and I've always been thinking that was supposed to be there.
This song is so underrated.
Its so mellow, yet epic.
what the fuck does that even mean? franky speaks like ''faggy dawg shit''.
This album was underrated!

Houve um tempo q ansiava por um pingo ínfimo de qualquer coisa. Até q um dia acordei e percebi Ser imensa demais pra qualquer migalha.
This song explains josh's situation of kicking joey out kind of ...
@Todd Gobbett There ya go.
@Fin Todd This one is for Natasha Shneider , she had cancer and Alain ( her husband ) wrote it .
This song is about Nick. Boots Electric confirmed it to Nick on one of his Spreaker shows. Along with the lyrical content and Josh actually choosing to play the bass part on the song, Josh put the disconected phone line signal at the end as a refrence to the phone message from Nick accepting the offer to join Queens you can hear at the end of the first record. There's a lot of symbolism on the record as a whole.
+Carlo Von Sexron wow
Thanks, it would be nice to have Nick back on QOTSA but Mike is great too.
This song haunts me. And that's a good thing.
I close my eyes, I just can't sleep.
Where have you gone again, my sweet?
Yeah, we heard it the first time in the actual song.
+Picnicolas lol
This is a masterpiece
I don't normally go for ballad-type songs, but this is one of the most beautiful songs QOTSA has ever created imo
They have a few ballad type songs that are effing outstanding. :)
Barry Schoolcraft I was gonna say! QOTSA ballads are like no other. Into the Hollow & Fortress (from the new album) are also wonderful
I want this at my funeral
Sam Goethals ...Like Clockwork fits the mood better. Long Slow Goodbye should be when your coffin is being layed down
during the funeral one should play feel good hit of the summer on repeat
Has a lot more meaning for those you left behind.
We had this at my friends funeral...
Where's the intro? :c
The intro is there but maybe you mean the hidden outro. That, that I have no idea, I believe it's on a special version of Lullabies to Paralyse.
every song on this album....blammo.
Agreed.
honestly i think this is from the only good album they ever made, wich is more than we all will ever accomplish in our miserable lives. jk
there??? girfriends? or their girlfriends?
In every voice, i hear you speak
Waitin' by the telephone
I close my eyes, i just can't sleep
Roll & tumble all night long
All night long
Where you gone?
Long Slow Goodbye and I Never Came have both been played on the Like Clockwork tour! :D
When the guitar comes in the chorus for the first time, those high notes strike my soul wide open.
This song is for all the bitches that frighten me at night .|.
These people speak to my heart and liver !!
Dat choruusss . ohhh yeahhh
do,nt does it to do and to let it be or go ghost ,fame stress breaks up
well don,t tell josh ,but it,s fuckin true they are all answers ,drugs and female,s hahaha
Apparently this song is about Nick... Maybe 'long slow intermission' was a better title... JUNE BABY!!!
it's funny how this song was such a cornerstone of their live performances at the time but will probably never be played again. this one, i never came and the blood is love will probably never be played live again. what a drag!
I've always loved this song. One of the best on Lullabies, just fantastic. I miss these guys. Forever one of my favorite bands, up there with Led Zeppelin and The Doors!
ha, coulndt agree more
You wish.
yet 'tis better to have loved and lost, than to have to live with that bitch the rest of my life..

What a fantastic song from an amazing album!
you cut off the awesome hidden track sorta thing lol.
I went on a road trip to America earlier this summer. All I listened to was QOTSA. Imagine how good it felt.
bike or car?
I can. I did the same this summer.
@Jimi Hendrixx I crawled on my hands and knees
Love it for Christmas :)
I love this track
If you don't think this song is upsettingly beautiful, I will fight you.
I couldn't agree more... BUT I'LL STILL FIGHT YOU.
very under rated band josh is a pure musical genious with a distinct sound! Come back to CANADA!!! cheers guys
And it was uploaded on my birthday...Creepy and fitting.
I've already told all of my friends that when I die, this is the song they carry the casket out to. I will say the same thing if I make it to 89.
On the album version of the song, there is an outro with an orchestra. Anyone know more about that? I don't know why it's not included in this version.
