Queen - She Makes Me (Stormtrooper In Stilettoes) Lyrics

I love
She makes me
She is my heart
She is my love

I know
I'm jealous of her
She makes me need
She is my love

Who knows who she'll make me
As I lie in her cocoon
And the world will surely heal my ills
I'm warm and terrified
She makes me so

I know the day I leave her
I'll love her still
She is my love
She is my love

She knows where my dreams will end
I'll follow as they grow
But the world will know how long I'll take
And if I'm very slow she makes me so

She is my love

What is this song about? my thoughts were that he wrote aboute a nurse the 'stormtrooper in stilettos' who cares for him during his hepatitis infection (because it was around summer 1974 and there are sirens in the background like in a hospital)

  2. B.... L....

Darth Mercury vs the Master Farrouk Bulsar
    Darth Deacy vs John Deacy
    Darth Taylor vs Rogers
    Darth May vs Moff Brian

  3. k.... s....

Erm, this is fucking AWESOME!!! :) Shabba! It's 2019, lets drum on and rip off said very cool tunes!! :) xxx

  4. M.... S....

There are loud ass sirens but all I hear is Brians beautiful breaths

  5. T.... G....

    Amazing song

  6. E.... C....

Sadly, 4 decades later, I just discovered this song for the first time today. All I can say is.... when Brian May gives you a piece of his mind, what a piece and what a mind. 🙌🏽👑💕

  7. A.... G....

Good song by Queen sung by Brian May. Many people wouldn't believe it's Queen when they hear it. Sheer heart attack is a good album but some songs are weak and don't fit the album. Brighton rock is a great start of the record.

  8. R.... G....

    John May

  9. a.... d....

I suffer from anxiety and when I am in a crisis , unable to breathe, this song makes wonders for me. It sooths my soul and helps me to deal with the panic. Best medication I could ever find

  10. W.... L....

Oh my Brisus....... I love it so much ❤😘

  11. S.... C....

349.472 wievs??? THIS ALBUM IS SOOOOOO UNDERRATED !

  12. A.... O....

    _Rogerina has entered the chat_

  13. o.... ....

lol this song doesnt match the title.

  14. S.... H....

    🎵She makes out with me...🎶

  15. C.... ....

I think i heard this clearly in mother love

  16. M.... S....

The last bit of that song.... Brian really didn't care about the effect he caused in this poor fangirl's heart.

  17. M.... P....

Where is the breathing sequence at the end of the song? You cut out an iconic part of the song.

  18. c.... ....

The harmonies from 1:02 to 1:17 are stunningly beautiful.

  19. C.... M....

This song makes me so calm ☺️

  20. M.... R....

July 8 2019 at 4:12 PM, and this song only has 331,753 views?!?

  21. G.... N....

How can Sheer Heart Attack be so perfect? My favourite albums are still Queen II and Innuendo, but sheer heart attack has a very special place in my heart...especially this song, in the lap of the gods and the medley

  22. T.... W....

This really sounds like their favorite band was The Beatles. ✨✨✨

    T.... W....

Brians favorite band was/is The Beatles

  23. i.... 6....

    it's like a Beatle song...

  24. L.... H....

    My favourite song forever! ♥️♥️♥️

  25. P.... ....

For some reason, I would have imagined Brian's singing voice to be deeper than this.

  26. M.... A....

I wonder why Brian has never been asked what the somg is about! but maybe is better that way.

  27. M.... F....

Why is Brian so underrated ugh. People should really pay more attention to Brian, Roger, and John and not just Freddie.

    M.... F....

For all that people complain about the "new fans" and the "new fandom" of Queen, I actually think this has been a big positive - lots of the newer fans have attached themselves to Roger, Brian and John rather than just Freddie, likely because Roger and Brian are still around and active, and so there's a better spread of love.

    M.... F....

    @GladiatorKnightGhost Well said

    M.... F....

Freddie died young and beautiful. For all their talent, Brian, Roger, and John can never top that brilliant career move!

  28. W.... k....

The breathing at the end. I THINK I JUST EXPLODED

  29. L.... M....

I was so in love with Brian in 2009 and this song reminds me of that. ♥️

  30. E.... L....

This song is very Beatles-esque. So are many of Brian's other songs. He is a huge fan of them anyway.

    E.... L....

Yes, Some Day One Day is Beatles-ish. Even Smile songs esp. April Lady sounds like a Beatles song.

    E.... L....

    Who is not? 8-)

    E.... L....

all of Queen were huge Beatles. they have said themselves that they've got song inspiration from some of Beatles songs

  31. t.... ....

I honestly get a big "Crimson and Clover" vibe from this.

  32. K.... J....

    '39 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mD36Yd4xM_g

  33. B.... L....

That almost ringing on the left side towards the ends keeps getting me. Almost sounds like when one of my ears ring, just deeper and not obnoxious.

  34. F.... C....

    I love brian songs

  35. M.... D....

Let's get this song over 1M+

  36. I.... M....

this sounds like something that paul mccartney would write. it actually really reminds me of him (not hating i love this song so much)

  37. S.... ....

    Wow I love Brian

  38. J.... W....

Good song to take a rainy afternoon snooze to! 😴

  39. 1.... ....

The first time I heard that "last breath" at the end of this song I nearly lost my breath.

  40. M.... S....

Is this song referencing Brian's contraction of hepatitis while on tour back in the 70s?

    M.... S....

I think it does, he was ill during the recordings of this album. And it sure is feverish

  41. S.... A....

I cried the whole night after listening to Brian's voice. I'm eternally.. Unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him ❤️🔥 and I'll take this love with me when I'm gone.

  42. C.... W....

Somewhere along the line ive deeply associated this song with someone i care very deeply for, every line fits really, my jealousy, the fact that ill never get over her, my false hopes... she makes me so

  43. D.... T....

I wish Brian would put out a record of all the songs he wrote and sang for Queen.

  44. J.... D....

Those harmonies from 1.00 to 1.20 are gorgeous. They give me goosebumps

  45. J.... D....

Queen do some outstanding vocal harmonies

  46. L.... M....

Brian May, a wonderful guitarist, sublime songwriter, dreamy voice and ethereal good looks. He's like a dream come true.

    L.... M....

Look at the big brain on Brian....hes a doctor too!

    L.... M....

PhD in Astrophysics and he was invited to Stephen Hawking's funeral.

    L.... M....

    You couldn't be more correct.

    L.... M....

He also campaigns for animal welfare. How good is this man?

  47. S.... B....

    worst queen song.ever.worse than misfire.

    S.... B....

    I hate you. Die.

  48. r.... ....

    Very Beatles.

    r.... ....

    i thought that!!

  49. a.... ....

who titled this song and can i have what they are having

    a.... ....

alexiane250 Brian did. He was hospitalized for most of the recording of this album and wrote this song whilst heavily medicated. Prophet's song from ANATO also came from a dream he had whilst in hospital. If you really want to hear a song where everyone seems on drugs search Dead on time from Jazz album

    a.... ....

Harrison Parpillon why was he in hospital??

    a.... ....

@Asher Grant I believe he fell ill with something while on tour and his arm was nearly amputated, but he made a miraculous recovery after a very nerve wracking surgery that could have had very serious consequences

  50. B.... Y....

    This album!!!!!!!!…………………………...

  51. .... ....

    Who is the last breathing?

    .... ....

    김슈바 Brian

    .... ....

    @Harrison Parpillon thanks

  52. H.... H....

This is the only song on SHA that doesn’t really do it for me
though the harmonies and back ground vocals are great

  53. B.... M....

Rick Astley released a new song with the same name...I love them both

    B.... M....

The Meme King stormtrooper in stilettos? That's the best part of the title. If it's simply entitled"She makes me" I will pass

  54. a.... d....

you can hear that his favourite band were The Beatles

    a.... d....

beatles suck, please dont compare .....................

    a.... d....

@giovanni pilu both are awesome in their own way and you can't compare them

    a.... d....

@giovanni pilu the Beatles don't suck! Queen isn't the only good band in the world you know...

    a.... d....

@Colin Moreillon I agree with that, but they never said Queen was the only good band so.

    a.... d....

@giovanni pilu Brian May's favorite band is literally The Beatles.

  55. o.... ....

    This song is SO underrated

  56. c.... ....

I'm warm and terrified, she makes me so

  57. M.... ....

    Roger wrote the lyrics.
    It's about his car.

    M.... ....

    Wrong song :D

    M.... ....

It's true, all the love songs Queen ever came out with are all secretly about Roger and his car

    M.... ....

    Luvcatz88 😂😂

    M.... ....

    @Rogerina's Bra 🤣🤣
    Now you're just being silly.
    I like your name there.
    Rogerina's Bra.
    🤣🤣🤣
    Fantastic!

    M.... ....

Can I please have Rogerina’s bra? Please? She was actually how I found out I like girls...

  58. K.... ....

The melody of this song is so beautiful. Brian May really was underrated as a songwriter.

  59. S.... ....

    ohh nice song.

  60. E.... B....

I love this song. It's been stuck on my head for a while

  61. H.... T....

Who's breathing in the end? I need to know.

    H.... T....

    Brian's 😊

    H.... T....

Brian breathing at the end was absolutely haunting! And it shows given the circumstances around the time that the song was first recorded. 😳

  62. G.... J....

Brian May is a great musician in his own right.

  63. v.... ....

Sounds like something Stone Roses could have covered.

  64. D.... ....

    Love this song!

  65. C.... P....

    Excellence.  Music Royalty.

  66. a.... j....

brian is so underrated as a singer and especially as a songwriter. tbh i think queen is still underrated overall but at least freddie is really appreciated. people should pay more attention to brian, roger and john.

    a.... j....

@Tony Stark And yet everytime I hear it, it come the movie scene in mine.

    a.... j....

Brian is a god. He could crush you with proto-metal songs like Father To Son, Tie Your Mother Down and It's Late, then bring you to tears with songs like this, White Queen and All Dead

    a.... j....

    ana júlia specially John 🤠

    a.... j....

Freddie is such a show man that anyone around him seems pale . That's the problem with a star: every one else around look small.

    a.... j....

    Especially Deaky

  67. Z.... ....

The first time I heard this back in the 70's on the Sheer Heart Attack album; which is a GREAT song also, I was hooked! The Beat, Bri's vocal ease, the whole Acoustic aspect....AWESOME SAUCE! Some of their BEST songs are the ones they didn't play on the radio. That's how you know you're a TRUE Queen fan. When you know their stuff but NOT from the radio.

  68. T.... T....

This has always been a very haunting song. The meaning has never been clear, i've read everything from it being an ode to one's mother to an ode to a dominatrix in a star wars uniform (the album predates Star Wars by 2 or 3 years). What i always envisioned was a mortally wounded soldier lying in a battlefield(stormtroopers-WW2, stiletto knife, not the heels) expressing his undying love for his girl back home as he lay dying. Help is on the way, as he hears an ambulance in the distance, but it's too late. The echo you hear at the end of the song was his last breath. Maybe my analysis is way off, but that's what i've always thought. Regardless it's just as chilling hearing it now as it was way back then.

    T.... T....

    Tommy Turner Great analysis
    Seems reasonable

    T.... T....

The sound effects towards the end, sirens etc, are also a reference to what Brian remembered from when he was lying in a hospital bed in the US with hepatitis.

    T.... T....

this song is wide open to interpretations and by this makes the song a sheer work of art.

    T.... T....

    Tony Stark my poor Bri

    T.... T....

@Tony Stark he nearly lost his arm to grangrene and it was nearly amputated

  69. N.... L....

Simply a beautiful song. I think it's clever and simple at the same time... the way the shifts occur is magical... the repeating chordal pattern simply does not get boring to me. I struggle to pick my favourite Queen album... between this and Day at the Races maybe... the music world changed in the 80s and Queen went with it and produced some nice music but the early/mid period is beyond pop music. It's artistic exploration of the human spirit. Thankfully we can now look back on the diversity and sheer beauty of the Queen back catalogue...

  70. I.... Q....

I love the breathing at the end...

  71. s.... p....

when I listened to queen in the late 70s and I was around 12. they were like amazing its like I could not get how incredibly talented they were - butt over the years - I get it brilliant. end of story

  72. M.... F....

    „.. and I don’t like star wars⚡️🎸🤟🏻“ 😂😂😂😂

  73. H.... A....

I really love brian may voice :")

  74. G.... N....

i wish if i get married my husband will sing itu to me

  75. S.... G....

OH MY FUCKING GOD, I'M SHAKING BC I HAD THE BEST ORGASM IN MY LIFE (till now 7u7) AND IS BRIAN MAY'S VOICE!!

  76. D.... C....

More people should know about this song. Queen have so many underappreciated gems.

  77. m.... ....

    without synthesizer unbelievable

  78. I.... T....

I believe there exists version with Freddie

  79. R.... E....

Props to Brian. For a moment I thought it was Freddie singing.

  80. A.... C....

beautiful song, haunting, but the line "I know // the day I leave her // I 'll love her still" is, I dunno - out of place and kind of kills it for me. Also, I wish there would have been another verse to extend the lyrics out another minute. Oh Well.

    A.... C....

interesting, i think it fits... i feel that he was afraid of death at that time. i dont know if thats what he was singing about but thats my perception anyway. definitely wish it was longer though lol

  81. B.... ....

May doesn't sound so great, his note-hitting isn't that great either- but that actually makes the song sound better. I'd rather have Brian sing this than Freddie or Roger.

    B.... ....

i think his note-hitting is fine, his voice doesn't sound as strong as the others' though? but idk

    B.... ....

I love Brian's voice. I prefer it to Roger's tbh.

    B.... ....

Having listened to a lot of Brian lead-vocal songs, I actually think the slightly-strained sound is a deliberate artistic decision. The rest of his vocals are warm and round and smooth and lovely.

    B.... ....

    @GladiatorKnightGhost I agree ❤

  82. L.... C....

i just realized the drum beat sounds like someone walking in stilettos

    L.... C....

    ProgHeadLou Yea, probably Freddie 😂

    L.... C....

    BGFSSS 😂😂

    L.... C....

I'm so glad you pointed that out. That's awesome.

    L.... C....

    Good one!

  83. G.... f....

1974-1980 The wonder years for me Thnx Queen

  84. N.... ....

  85. A.... ....

I dunno why but if I didn't read in this song Brian May's on vocals I would always think that Freddie Mercury sings it!

    A.... ....

Ashgardore The sound at the start sounds kinda like Freddie

    A.... ....

Tbh if I didn't know Brian was singing this, I would've thought it was Paul McCartney.

  86. D.... ....

If someone else than Brian May had written this I’d think it was about drugs to be honest. It’s the perfect metaphor. Plus the song has an energy in it that makes me think about The Velvet Underground. Or maybe Pink Floyd. Love this song.

    D.... ....

Floyd I can accept. but anything as essentially vapid as VU - nah

    D.... ....

Kwinquark1 yeah valid point, I think it’s the rythm though, makes me think of like Venus in furs or something

    D.... ....

    Acoustic Pink Floyd

  87. C.... W....

I was listening to this song in humanities class and the teacher (who was watching on their computer to see what sites our computers were on) actually called me over to their desk to compliment my taste in music.

    C.... W....

Then everybody clapped and obama came to shake your hand and give you a medal

    C.... W....

    salami
    Sounds very nice to me.

    C.... W....

Cristián Silva u literally don’t know anything about teens these days do you?

    C.... W....

Go cry on social media about it.

    C.... W....

Claudio Cruzat I was born in the wrong generation

  88. B.... M....

    This is so..... rock

  89. R.... R....

Magical? Mystical? Fantasy? Or bollocks? Early Queen were probably all of these, but most of all they were brilliant!!

  90. d.... o....

    Splendid

  91. A.... L....

    now i'm sad

  92. A.... M....

What a nice song. Really enjoyed it. Love you Queen 👑❤

  93. c.... ....

    Star Wars?

    c.... ....

camiller8 About three years before Star Wars.

  94. R.... W....

is this song about his wife?

    R.... W....

He wasn't married when this came out - none of them were, and Brian wouldn't be married for another two years.

  95. A.... B....

This song makes me cry every time I listen to it. It's so underrated.

    A.... B....

    I know it's shit isn't it

  96. I.... T....

    What is it about?

    I.... T....

    Roger's car.

  97. n.... ....

    No Freddy no queen...

    n.... ....

nallly Queen wouldn’t be Queen without Bri or Rog either. It wasn’t just Fred who made the band great.

    n.... ....

Lara Patzel Excuse me, you're forgetting Deaky.

    n.... ....

Henry Jackson what I was saying is that queen still exists without Fred and Deaky

    n.... ....

Idiot child - go watch some Erasure

    n.... ....

@nallly This song is great. This song has no Freddie. Ergo, Queen can exist without Freddie.

If what you mean is that they were better with Freddie, then I'd agree.
