Queen - Mad The Swine Lyrics

I've been there before
A long time ago
But this time I wear no sandals
Ages past I gave all you people
Food and water
Three feet tall, so very small
I'm no trouble
I bring thunder and lightning
Sun and the rain
For all the people in the land
A message of love
I bring you from up above
All you children gather around
Come join your hands and sing along
They call me mad the swine
I guess I'm mad the swine
I've come to save you
Save you
Mad the swine
Mad the swine
So all you people gather around
Hold out your hands and praise the lord
I walk upon the water
Just as before
I help the meek and the mild
The believers and the blind
And all the creatures great and small
Let me take you to the river
Without a fall
Then one day you'll realize
You're all the same within his eyes
That's all I've got to say
Just like before
They call me mad the swine
Mad the swine
Come to save you
Save you
Mad the swine
Mad the swine
So all you people gather around
Hold out your hands and praise the lord
So all you people gather around
Hold out your hands and praise the lord
Don't ever fail me
Mad the swine
Mad the swine
Come to save you
Save you
Mad the swine
Mad the swine
So all you people gather around
Hold out your hands and praise the lord
Hands and praise the lord

Queen Mad The Swine Comments
  1. C.... B....

After ONE year of listening to Queen I found this

  2. B.... H....

    agggggg i loveeee <3

  3. D.... G....

This song makes me think of Larry Norman and the Jesus People movement of that time. Love It!!

  4. R.... R....

He has a very youthful sounding voice in this song

  5. K.... C....

This song is awesome and so catchy! Definitely should have been included on the album, but at least we have it now

  6. s.... ....

I personally think "Mad the Swine" is what the high priests called Jesus. So Jesus, who is the speaker, is introducing Himself as what they refer to him as.

  7. R.... B....

    So mad the swine..

  8. M.... A....

    June 2019?

    M.... A....

    September!!

    M.... A....

    October!!!

    M.... A....

    @Елена Харциева haha 😎

  9. S.... M....

I think I know why this was not on the album. Its absolute shite!

  10. T.... S....

This is probably Queen's most underrated released track. Recorded for their most underrated album in my opinion.

  11. F.... -....

¿Porqué esto no fue incluido en la versión final del album?, o hubieran puesto esta y quitar la deno Seven Seas of Ryhe

    F.... -....

Es cierto, deberían haber incluido este tema en el disco.

  12. A.... C....

They should have released this on the original release

  13. 9.... ....

    Madness Wine! LOL! :)

  14. H.... H....

The first song in this serie of B sides and demo’s that’s actually worth listening to

  15. S.... S....

Como cualquier persona Freddie buscaba una respuesta en las religiones y una de ellas fue la católica cristiana fuera de su país de origen asi como The Beatles fueron a la India

  16. R.... B....

    Think to Mad..

  17. C.... T....

The way Freddie say water !!! Melts me 😩

  18. K.... W....

Sorry we missed this song for so long. It made me catch my breath.

  19. K.... ....

  20. E.... A....

I didn't get this song when I downloaded this song. 😕

  21. J.... A....

I'm glad this was left off the original album! As great as Queen was/is, not everything they did was golden.

  22. D.... T....

    Few people know this song

    D.... T....

I am proud to be one of them. Wish you health and happiness! Love yourself!

  23. C.... ....

A message to love...Hendrix legacy, uh

  24. J.... T....

I’m in love with this song about Jesus’ second coming. Only Queen.

  25. G.... n....

    fucking great song

  26. G.... M....

Who re-mastered this in 2011? Has it appeared since the 1991 release on the Headlong CD single?

    G.... M....

It's on the 2011 deluxe (2 disc version) remaster of Queen's debut., remastered by Bob Ludwig. That's the only appreance of the song that springs to mind since Headlong.

  27. J.... V....

Yo compongo una canción cuándo oigo esta Hermosa canción
    😍😘

  28. M.... M....

I love this song. Freddie was great! And he believed in God and good!

  29. M.... K....

I think this song should be on the debut album instead of (unfinished) Seven Seas of Rhye.

    M.... K....

    @magiicw As well as...

    M.... K....

It was supposed to be in between Great King Rat and My Fairy King.

    M.... K....

It was not a matter of quality, it was a matter of rights of one of the composers.

  30. A.... B....

this is the b-side to headlong

    A.... B....

Adam Bendelow Yes!!!!!!!!! but it was recorded in June 72

  31. F.... S....

No se si fue la producción del disco o las peticiones de regrabacion de las canciones, pero han quitado mucho material realmente bueno de esta banda en este disco, que es de lo mejor que tienen

  32. B.... ....

    Wonderful song !

  33. m.... t....

freddie was a genius, apparantly never read a book in his life and the words he came out with, UNBELIEVABLE guy

    m.... t....

mark taylor he read a lot. And he studied at school, where he studied bible too. In his house there were many books, and he liked to read

    m.... t....

Мария Мальцева I've read on the Peter Freestone's blog that Freddie actually didn't read books but loved to read some auction catalogues or something :)

    m.... t....

Aneta Nováková Freestone lies. Freddie was very educated person. He had a lot of books at home (i saw them on garden lodge tapes). And his songs are fool of words from poetry. So beautiful words! I think Peter wants to make a stupid person of Freddie.

    m.... t....

Мария Мальцева I'm not saying you're not right, but why would Peter lie about that? Freddie was his friend and I've never heard Peter mocking him

  34. K.... ....

why did they release it so late? lol Release Date: 1991

    K.... ....

KrayzSrgin they were afraid to realise this song becouse of critics. they thought people wouldn't understand it.

    K.... ....

    @Maria Maltseva Makes sense

    K.... ....

Maria Maltseva I thought it was because the band and Roy Thomas Baker has disagreements over the percussion parts.

  35. k.... ....

I met Brian May at Fat Tuesday's jazz club when he played with Les Paul in March of 1991 and he mentioned that this song would be on an upcoming CD remaster. But when he told me the name, it being somewhat strange, it sounded to me like he was saying Madness Wine. I asked him a couple of times to repeat it and then I just let it go. Only until the actual disc came out did I realize what he was actually saying. Love this song!

  36. R.... ....

I think that Freddie was fascinated with Christianity at the time...

    R.... ....

Sebastián Valdenegro it's a song about how jesus cast out demons into pigs and the pigs commited suicide. Hence the name Mad the Swine

    R.... ....

@Dakota Word never thought about that to be honest but you could be right

    R.... ....

@Google Pluz plus The Jews do not believe in Jesus
    .

    R.... ....

Jacob Adiv Arts They do, they just do not acknowledge him as the Son of God. Jesus is a historical figure, but thinking he is God is something only Christians do, yeah.

    R.... ....

@Google Pluz plus Speaking as a Jew- we don't call Jesus that. Typically among religious circles he's called either "Yushka"- I'm pretty sure it's the Hebrew name he would've actually been known by; or "Yayshu" which is an acronym for...not Mad The Swine, but nevertheless something I won't be repeating. (Which was only a name that was coined for him long after the biblical times, and not necessarily slander on anything Jesus himself did, but sort of blaming him for being the catalyst of all the horrible mass violence and cruelty done in his name throughout history. Though Jews don't believe any of it, not even Christianity, was ever his personal intentions. It's sort of viewed as a cult that he started as one thing that blew up way out of his control into another thing entirely, and mostly after he'd been killed by the Romans.) Don't hate me, I'm not trying to offend anyone or their beliefs here.

  37. j.... j....

Freddie wrote alot about the bible during this period.

  38. S.... ....

Wow. After 41 years I only just now heard about this song. I wonder how it would have sounded on the album?

I think the way the drum fade out of "Great King Rat" runs into the first "BIP!" of the guitar of "My Fairy King" is a classic moment, and this song may have ruined it. Although the guitar at the end may have segued into it well.

On first hearing, it strikes me more as a non-album B-Side. But it seems Queen didn't think it was even good enough for that.

  39. E.... ....

One of my favourite Queen songs

    E.... ....

    Elizabeth same

  40. P.... ....

This has oddly, always been my favorite queen song.  i am partial to the line "a message of love, i bring you up from above". Freddie sure could sing.

  41. D.... ....

I really wonder why it was not included on the first Queen album. And why did Mercury call it "mad the swine"? mocking Jesus Christ? Opinions?

    D.... ....

I just listened to it again, for the first time since my original comments over a year ago and it's growing on me. His high notes in the first few verses show how absolutely beautiful and liquid silk his voice was in those days.

    Much better than *BAAAAAAARRRGGHH-CELONAAAAARRRRGGGHHHHH!!!*

    LOL!

But the lyrics seem to be about the Second Coming and maybe had nothing to do with _"My name is Legion for We are Many"_

    >:8o

    D.... ....

told you twas a good song, but maybe they thought wasn't album material

    D.... ....

    i cheated and goolged this......
Recorded during sessions from the debut album and originally planned to be placed between Great King Rat and My Fairy King, but dropped due to disagreements between the band and Roy Thomas Baker, mostly over the drum sound and percussion.

    D.... ....

Jesus made the davil into swines and they went into the sea. So many people call jesus this name (who doesnt like him)

    D.... ....

mark taylor this song should be the last on album queen. You are right

  42. F.... D....

Nice song ive never heard this one before from Queen..

  43. E.... Q....

    better than the "Jesus" song

    E.... Q....

I like both of those songs

  44. I.... G....

Queen were (and are) great from the start!! Love this song!
