Queen - Father To Son Lyrics
A word in your ear, from father to son
hear the words that I say
I fought with you, fought on your side
Long before you were born
From father to son, to son
And the voice is so clear, time after time it leeps
Calling you, calling you on
Don't destroy what you see, your country to be
Just keep on building on the ground that's been won
Kings will be crowned, the word goes around
From father to son, to son
Take it sonny, hold it high
You won't understand a word that's in it
But you'll write it all again before you die
A word in your ear from father to son
Funny you don't hear a single word I say
But my letter to you, will stay by your side
Through the years till the loneliness is gone
Sing if you will -
But the air you breathe I live to give you
Father to son
Father to, father to, father to son
Joyful the sound, the word goes around
From father to son, to son...
Kings will be crowned, the word goes around
From father to son, to son...

Mr Brian May and the others used to listen to Led Zeppelin and Judas Priest? Or were the Led Zeppelin and Judas Priest listening in secret to those young boys?
A word in your ear, from father to son
Hear the word that I say
I fought with you, fought on your side
Long before you were born
Joyful the sound, the word goes around
From father to son, to son...
And the voice is so clear, time after time it keeps on
Calling you, calling you on

Just keep building on the ground that's been won
Kings will be crowned, and the word goes around
From father to son, to son
Won't you hear us sing
(te de de de de de de de de de de de de de de)
Our family song
(te de de de de de de de de de de de de de de)
Father, father, father, father, ooh yeah, father, father, father, father
(te de de de de de de de de de de de de de de)
Now we hand it on
But I've heard it all before
Take this letter that I give you
Take it sonny, hold it high
You won't understand a word that's in it
But you'll write it out again before you die (yeah yeah)
A word in your ear from father to son

青春が…蘇る!🙌☺🙌👍🙌👌‼️♥❤‼️
I have yet to hear a terrible Queen song. Thankfully, "Father to Son" is *not* one of them. 😁
is this chrono trigger ?? xD
I would sell my soul to attend one 70s Queen's Concert
The best queen song
At the beginning of this video that's my favorite photo of Brian.
Holy shit this fuckin slaps
So much Nostalgia!
Some Queen song I don’t understand, Great, amazing that means they did an amazing job
Best part 2:41 to 4:04
Is anybody with me in speculating that Brian had just been listening to Cat Stevens when he composed this song?
And again: Brian May is underrated guitarrist
The REAL underrated boy of Queen was John Deacon. Brian isn't unterrated I think, everyone who knows about Real music, knows how great is Brian as a guittarist
Limitles cap 9 final 🤣🤣🤣🤣
esos detalles mágicos
I just love hearing the snare just punch its way through the guitar and bass like that
My favourite Queen album 💕
3:27 is so awesome, pls wear headphones!
"See the best of Freddie Mercury, Brian May & Roger Taylor right here on YouTube."....WTF #QUEEN, WHY DEACON IS OUT?, DONT FORGET JOHN WROTE A LOT OF JEWELS!!!!, #BrianMay #RogerTaylor....DON´T BE UNGRATEFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bri popped off
Songs that has made Queen legend. Those dirty guitar sounds...
nice heavy riffs !I think Brian May will keep his long curly hair until they put him in to the grave
Se me engancho la canción gracias a mi padre y no me arrepiento de nada❤️🙏🏻
Feliz dia do pais!
Beautiful <3 Queen rocks, love it!

My letter, literally is history!
The storey's that have been built...
I dedicate this song to my son Keegan, who will be four months old July 1st.
I wish the best for your son, and for you!! I think you're a great father! <3
4:13 fucking geniuses
LOL, this song has the exactly same intro of
Dream Teather "surrounded"
And
Toto "Better world"
3 amazing songs anyway😍
This song came before them, in 1974
guitar drowns the great Mercury voice--
What is this song about?
special bond between father and son
The perfect Father's Day song! This is for the dad's everywhere, including mine.
What a wonderful, inspiring ditty with Queen's early, unbridled experimentation. Almost sounds like kids should sing it in church or something like that. Joyful the sound, the world goes around, father to son to son. As opposed to, fat bottom'd girls make the world go round. Forget Jazz, forget News of the World. Queen I, Queen II, A Night at the Opera, A day At The Races, Innuendo, period.
If you listen to the ending, it segues to White Queen.
I too am a Queenaholic....
Again, Joyful the sound....
best Queen album, no lies
the drumming is awesome
Brian May is the worlds best guitarist added br reactionandgamer not the wolf channel
СпасибО !
Уносит в чудную юность

May be ,in part anyway, Father To Son, has it's lyrical roots within Brian May and his fathers' relationship. It's worth checking out the interviews where he speaks of it. As well, each Queen member were /are very intelligent, well educated, motivated, determined people, continuing to grow in talent and awareness, and often making the point that many of their songs were meant to touch the listeners into making our own interpretations. Regardless, I love this song. Each band mate contributing their usual excellence. Freddie's incredible voice...
This album is a MasterPiece <3
the woo
“Joyful the sound”....
This song is fantastic not only the meaning of the words but that incredible guitar playing by May. Wow!
Magnífico
temazo total.
Русские есть?
just hear that roger's drum opening at 2:40 for the brian's riffs goossebumps and of course freddie's vovals only queen and pink floyd can reach that level of musical experience something for which i dont have words to describe amazing one of my favourite queens songs ever that solo at the ending over those harmonizing vocals i can write about this song all day every second of this masterpiece is pure gold and lets be honest this is queens the most underrated song and that is a fact another song
Back in 74 I was driving the record stores nuts waiting for the release of Queen two...and then I got a call from Round Records in Toronto that it was on it's way and I was there to get the first copy...I thought the record sucked...but kept listening over and over and songs began to make sense as this lp was so complicated no repetitive riffs a true masterpiece one of my all time favs
15: Flash
14: News of the World
13: Jazz
12: Hot Space
11: The Miracle
10: A Kind of Magic
9: Innuendo
8: Queen
7: The Works
6: Made in Heaven
5: Night at the Opera
4: The Game
3: Sheer Heart Attack
2: Queen II
1: A Day at the Races
my personal opinion
Jazz and News so low? Jazz is very underrated, it´s full of hidden gems, but I do kinda agree with the News as it seems to be too based on the two megahits We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions, though Spread Your Wings, It´s Late or The Melancholy Blues are good songs too
@Droosy1 1 Yeah Jazz is pretty good with songs like Bicycle Race but I think the others have more good songs and Mustapha is horrible in my opinion, News of the World is overplayed and is missing the magic of Queen during the years 1973-1976
This is probably one of the only queen songs where the comments aren’t infested with quotes from the movie
sent this song to my son, As a tribute to our relationship!!! So Awesome!!!
How did Brian write this song when he was so young? It's uncanny. Makes me cry as it did 40 years ago. His dad helped him build the red special.....after being some sort of boffin who helped win the war. There is something terribly English about it. " A word in your ear" that's a very middle class expression you don't hear anymore. It's that old fashioned, reserved stiff upper lip England trying to communicate across the generation gap. There is so much empathy in this song which is why I find it so moving despite it being a very refined bit of heavy rock.
Master of feedback and echo too. Q2 is my favourite album.
I love Queen but I do truly hate how petty they are. I mean, not even acknowledging John Deacon? Give me a break.
Maybe he doesn't want to be mentioned here, or maybe it's because he doesn't have solo songs. Either way, the band has talked about him positively interviews recently. Not seeing any pettiness.
Awesome song. Thank you for this comfort over many years Mr. May.
I love this song!
Roger´s drumming is so on point - the rolls are heavenly
una increíble cancion
"Funny, you don't hear a single word I say"
I fucking love you queen, and thankyou Brian, for writing this art.
This song is great!
Masterpiece
I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of the first LP. I turned everyone I knew onto it . I always made sure we smoked a couple joints of Red Bud first though & then I made each of them put on my good headphones & soar into the land of Queen. The first 2 were the best ever imho. I likes the more psychedelic semi-progressive era. Also saw them right after Sheer Heart Attack came out & again during Night of the Opera. The first show was with Mahogany Rush & Kansas. $6.50. Crazy Right?
beatiful.
This is a PHAT bop
From Harold to Brian.
