That's just it. It's meant to be generic [The entire song, not just the lyrics] - it's going to sound like a lot of songs you've probably heard before :P It sounds familiar because they're literally using the core of what a lot of other songs in the same genre use.

Blues Traveller did something similar a long time ago with a song called "Hook". There's also a group on Youtube who showed that most pop(ular) songs are the same 4 chords, just played at different tempos, usually.

@Zap Gun I listen to a lot of music. I have the complete discography of Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park, The Offspring, and Anti-Flag, and the complete soundtracks to Burnout 3 and Burnout Revenge, and I listen to all of them regularly. What I need is a good book stuck in my head.

This really needs to be on the radio...

This band is metalcore even when being when not parodying it. Only some metalcore bands suck, and those are usually hybrids of metalcore, post-hardcore and pop emo.

I was mistaken about Tool, Nirvana used it for heart shaped box and a couple more songs on In Utero and don't push your opinions around as fact. Some people like post-hardcore and metalcore, myself included.

Tool uses Drop D, Nirvana uses E Standard, and Post Hardcore and Metalcore suck.

Chevelle, Three Days Grace, Tool, Nirvana, A lot of Metalcore and Post Hardcore
