Protest The Hero - The Divine Suicide Of K. Lyrics
I better think of my answers now
because I know the questions will be asked
Like if I brought the joy I found
in the confessions of a mask
The tip of my tongue's already
It's meaning manifest in mercy
burning down, burning down,
burning down, burning down,
burning down, burning down,
burning down the house
It's true that tactless teem totem-poles
turn tolerance to tired taboos
It's true that a bullet never knocks on the door,
it's about to come crashing through
I walking one last mile in big steps as your alter-wine
I'm doing it in tattered shoes that aren't even mine
Because my own are in a box locked up with possessions I can't have
Like the gunman with his future and the prison priest's golden calf
Walking one last mile
Walking one last mile...
Blindfolds aside I'd probably still close my eyes
And try to feel a trembling fetal life inside
that shotgun barrel that's about to make me bleed
Like an ulcer in the stomach of the beast
Like a little girl on a bed that was years ago deceased
Resurrected last night with a letter she can't trace
Resurrected to be killed then maybe born again
I'll always be Kezia as long as any hope remains
Resurrected to be killed then maybe born again
I'll always be Kezia as long as any hope remains
Resurrected to be killed and then maybe born again
I'll always be Kezia so long as any hope remains

Jadea Kelly. damn.
waaaalking one last miiiiiiiiiileeeeeeeee
Resurrected to be killed
And maybe born again
I'll always be Kezia
(Cookie Monster getting pounded in the ass in the background)
Who’s the female vocals at the end
Emergency_ Duck kezia
at the end where they sing " resurrected to be killed and then maybe born again, ill always be Kezia as long as any hope remains" the screaming during this part they are saying "It's true that tactless teem totem-poles
,turn tolerance to tired taboos"
the outro to this song blows my mind
Dawn Leaf same do you know who the female vocals are?
@Emergency_ Duck Jadea Kelly
I remember in 2006 my friend gave me this CD and I couldn't get into it too much. Till 2:07 "blindfolds aside, I'd probably still close my eyes" I heard that line it caught my attention.
Needless to say this is my favorite band, favorite album, I have spent countless hours learning their songs on guitar, have scurrilous' album cover sleeved up on me.
Oh.. and I will be naming my daughter kezia. Kezia Rose Andreana.
Protest legitimately shaped me to who I am today and will be forever.. weird how music has that effect on people.
2:21 ha love that minor on the word "bleed". Such a good song and fucking brilliant band 😆👌
3:00 to 3:09 is sickening to think about. its mind boggling really.
This is one of my most favorite songs of all time. It holds a very special place in my heart
This is beautiful. I wish I could sing like this.
This band makes the best songs I've ever heard.
Beautiful piece..
Fuck you. Protest this duck.
I have a small dick.
Triforce?
its amazing how assholes like Justing Beaver and all those bitches doing hooker noises can get so much famous and have so much "self respect" for what they do and people usually agrees
and then we see Protest The Hero a band of talented, humble, artists .they dont take themselves much soriously, they dont fall in "safe spots" or "magic formulas", they just keep experimenting and getting better
fuck as a musician i expect i can one day respect myself as much as i respect these candian bastards
does anyone know what the backing screamed vocals are during the resurrected to be killed part... i've looked everywhere and can't find them
Why hello there, I'm 5 years late but I guess I'll write this for anyone else who sees: I could only understand the second line, but I'm 99% sure it says "and live to die another day". All I got from the first line was "until my death has been ???"
epic would be PTH meets Globus!
@leerey14
really? its not that big of a deal -_-
@XurakuXookamiX ATR still kicks ass :-D interestingly enough though, that's two times I've heard of that band in less than a week, have they come out with a new cd? I heard em once and was like eh... haha
1:58 goosebumps commence
Something I love about watching a PTH video: the comments are mostly intelligent, since most PTH fans actually read and attempt to discover the meaning of the lyrics, or the concept behind them. Keep it up.
Something I hate about watching metal videos on YouTube: some people really like to show off how "cool" they are by listing other bands they listen to, in comparison of some unrelated subject to this video, hoping to gain recognition from their fellow headbangers that they do indeed, have an "awesome taste in music". And then, to indicate what bad music is, they bring up Beiber. Seriously, shut up.
@leerey14
amazing how the topic of creativity comes into your posts after someone else introduces it.
anyway, i guess i'll leave you with my original statement:
lol
@leerey14
man, you're more creative than -
actually, there's a problem, no matter how sarcastically uncreative whatever i listed was, you'd still possess less originality in any statement you've ever made than the item (which is potentially inanimate, even) at hand.
@leerey14
lol
@xThunderThumbsx
it seemed like it, but i don't know if i was around for that one.
anyway, yes, this entire conversation is pointless and directionless.
@xThunderThumbsx
Well, i was simply going to leave it at "wat", but seriously, I'm baffled.
so, I leave you with this
wat?
@xThunderThumbsx
>implying using dead memes in their intended fashion will somehow revitalize them
@ugoodHomeBoy
>implying I have emotions
@ugoodHomeBoy
elsewhere.
@ugoodHomeBoy
>implying that, without the least bit of emotional investment in this discussion (unlike you; your obvious anger demonstrates the strangely high stakes for yourself), i still manage to establish myself as the one who knows that K stands for potassium, and, accordingly, the only one whose IQ has the potential to be over 75.
Therefore, we can conclude that, while I might still be legally retarded, I am far superior to you, and your insult "pseudo intellectual" is best applied
@ugoodHomeBoy
>implying that I wasn't implying that your joke sucked
>implying you're not mad
>implying that your joke even made sense (which it didn't, with the aforementioned egregious error)
>implying implications
@ugoodHomeBoy
>implying that K isn't the atomic symbol of potassium
>implying that ketamine isn't C13H16ClNO
I hope that if I ever have a daughter I want to name her Kezia such a cool name!
@fLKommotioN word. i agree, except i don't like btbam. but other than that i hate when people do that crap
@loismustdie175
you replied to afropuffjake's comment about something entirely unrelated to comparing bands, and then you come in and ejaculate fanboy "PTH is the best" everywhere. He's like "I listen to these bands as well, and that proves that I listen to screams" and you're like "PTH is farrrr(unnecessarily large amount of r's) better than all those bands, you can't compare them" even though that wasn't at all what he was saying. That's what I'm talking about.
@fLKommotioN what are you talking about? lol
@loismustdie175
wtf? you do realize he was previously talking to someone after said person flamed him when he asked what a certain set of screamed vocals was?
am i seeing this? I mean, PTH is fucking unbelievable, but you just insulted BTBAM. Mindlessly. As a fanboy. On a comment unrelated to whether or not PTH was good.
Learn to read. Fuck i hate this shit.
Yeah, I mad.
@afropuffjake you cant compare those bands though to PTH, PTH is farrrrrrrrrrr better
@Blademan525 0:00-5:12 beautiful
The woman singer is so perfect in this song (as well as the other 2) and compliments Roddy so well. Takes what is already an amazing album to another level.
Walking one last Mile
Blindfold Aside, I'd propably still close my eyes <3
While I think, "I promised to close my eyes" would have been a nice line, too.
One person dislike this they must have did it on accident.
1:34-2:27 beautiful.
@ihavenoname93 beiber
@Dooplez
What exactly does that pertain to? Me saying Protest the Hero has superior music to Taylor Swift? haha. i was referring to the technical side of things.. taste wise, obviously people will like what they will. that said, music that is "good" to one person does not make it good from a technical standpoint. ask any jazzer what his take on radio music is..
@fLKommotioN No, that's just you being narrow-minded and elitist.
@SatanicAntichrist Opinion. Opinion. Opinion. Music is subjective like art. Because there are no rules set in stone that every one piece must follow and because there are so many medias to work with, no one can truly say that there is bad music and good music. Quality is an observation, there is no measurement to that. Did you skip out on science in school?
@JuanpiTheGunslinger this album is totally concept. It tells an awesome story of Kezia, who is about to be executed. The album is broken into three parts, each part tells the story from a different persona's point of view. There is the prison priest, the prison guard and Kezia. It's genuis...
@SatanicAntichrist true and your name is a bit redundant hehe
omg..that girl duet sounds smexy..i love how this whole album is a deep story
@afropuffjake i see what you mean bro its hard to tell what their screamin
4 min 12 :D :o awesome
SIKTH FTW!!! didn't think anyone actually listened to them. Maith an fear!!
I listen to both The Black Dahlia Murder and The Beatles, to both Florence + the Machine and Machine Head, to both Lamb of God and Linkin Park, to Taylor Swift, Thrice, Slayer and of course Protest The Hero.
@fLKommotioN I like this guy..
Thank you. You speak truth.
First off, already did. I just can't understand that last part. This isn't the first time I've listened to screamed vocals, I also like bands like All That Remains, Between The Buried and Me, and Blessthefall. Nowadays I can usually just pick up what they're saying the first time I hear a song but with this one I'm just having trouble with the two vocals at the end. So fucking sue me for seeing if someone could actually help
there is definitely bad taste in music.. it's not like all music is equal. don't tell me a four-chord Nickelback shit-pile is equal to any BTBAM song.. or that anything taylor swift has ever done compares to PtH.. or that kanye west compares to SikTh.. etc..
The only semi-objective standard we can use for popular music (any style) is performing skill. I agree that Nickelback or Bieber's music is generally a shitpile, although Chad Krieger can sing. Probably the majority of the public isn't looking for challenging or innovative music like Protest the Hero. They get what they're looking for.
Sorry I spelled Chad Kroeger's name wrong. Damn autocorrect!
^^ Walsh couldnt be anymore right. If someone asked me who I thought was the best singer out there I'd say Rody Walker, or Freddy Mercury. Compared to if someone asked me who is my personal FAVORITE singer I'd say oh "Bradley Nowell from Sublime." we all get what we enjoy and enjoy what we get. Not everyone's mind is so over complicated that you require crazy technical skill for something as simple as listening to a tune lol. Most of the world is simple. If you enjoy something this skillful casually, then maybe you too have a potential path in music.
@Patonator1337 what is good music... as far as my knowledge goes there's really no bad taste of music...it all depends on what you're into... my brother just showed me this band right now to see if ill like it... i thought it was alright but ill just stick to what I'm into... which is more like black metalish/power metalish/metalcore. but i did favorite this song because i love how it just changes melodies consistently throughout the song. ^^
@afropuffjake why don't you just learn the lyrics...
i tried. couldn't tell. sorry.
ok so that's for the first part but what about later when he's screaming while Rody's saying "I'll always be Kezia so long as any hope remains"?
9 years later... they are saying, " It's true that tactless teem totem-poles
turn tolerance to tired taboos
"
arif just growls letter she can't trace again. that's all. it's rody: "with a letter she can't" then while rody says trace arif says "letter she can't trace".
Ok so this song IS F**KING AWESOME and the lyrics are badass but I STILL can't figure out WTF they're screaming @ 3:17 and at the end!! anyone PLEASE care to explain?! I mean I might cover the song and it's more likely that what they're screaming is just repeated from somewhere else on the song or the album but yeah some help please =-)?!
np holmes.
Finally someone with a good taste of music. Thanks for putting these songs up.
and turn soonest to the sea XD
he's still first.
awesome
awesome song 10/10 stars
AWESOME song. Thanks for finally being able to upload it (along with the Divine Suicide of K)!
I should remove your comment right now.. :P
no problem. i'm just glad it stayed up this time. :)
thx for uploading. I was really wanting to hear all the songs of Kezia
o! sry. :P
