Project 86 - The Sanctuary Hum Lyrics

Smile, wave
Convince the sanctuary, our charade
Though you're the object of my deepest rage
Just counterfeit this holiness for me
And everything will be OK

My sweet one
You tell no lies
The greatest reason to be despised

But we must pretend
Your broken wrist
Just happened when you fell off your bike

So this is
The reason
The sanctuary hums
God save us
God save us
From your chosen ones

Smile, wave
Protect his pulpit from all suffering
He'll make celebrity the end game
So much more valuable than family
Not even violence can betray...

As long as
You keep your lips
Locked up til the end of this age

And even
If you won't
It's your word up against what he'll say

Cry, Girl
Become the wails of victims unheard
Your tears have given you the calm nerve
So if they're asking you to hide your bane
You just keep screaming to the grave

You'll be
The reason
The helpless celebrate
He takes us
He takes us
From our violent shame

Project 86 The Sanctuary Hum Comments

I can only speculate, but if an atheist were to listen to any Christian band, one that calls out the church this loud seems the best fit.

Choosing not to listen to a band because of their religious beliefs makes sense if all the band does it talk about it, but these guys dont mention a thing about it and im pretty sure the band has stated they may have christian values or whatever but that they are NOT a christian band. Even if they were, they would still be one of my favorite bands of all time.

I disagree. I'd say regardless of what they say, music is personal to everyone, even the artists who write it. You don't listen to something because you agree with it. You listen to it because it hits the right marks. If a band decides to talk about one thing and make that the focus of their music it doesn't devalue their ability to make music, nor does it stop you for enjoying it, because music just speaks for itself. Music is a very raw artform in the sense that it's primarily based on what you expect to gain from it (either a good time, a calm conversation, a sermon, a call to arms, a motivator for outdoor activities, an accompaniment to a dinner). It's basically a soundtrack to your emotions and daily life, and Christian Rock is no different from any other genre in that aspect.

I'm an atheist but I love Project 86 songs, there are epic as f*ck !

Atheist as well, but I love this song! In fact, I enjoyed this song so much, I read this song's lyrics for an assignment in my speech class in college. The professor seemed visibly shocked and impressed, told me that standing with at a certain angle to the audience made me seem too aggressive, but I think it was just the lyrics lol

Well, I have my own beliefs and I don't feel ashamed by listening christian rock. Good music is good music. But the point is: even if they are christian, they are NOT a christian band. The singer even stated that out.

@Wqube you shouldn't be ashamed man, we still listen to atheist songs, and we aren't ashamed (unless satanic). because God has given people musical talents. Just because people are from a different belief doesn't mean you should hate them, cause we don't hate you.

Why is this flagged christian rock?

"Damn im ashamed of listening to christian rock as an atheist "

Comments like these wouldn't have to be if that segment wasn't added.

In my opinion, every band makes a decent or a good song (at least one). And this is the only good one they have made, i don't like the band but i do like this song :P

Damn im ashamed of listening to christian rock as an atheist :$
