I don't think it has anything to do with 'being Scottish' and even less to do with being a 'West Coaster'.......I think its more a social class 'thing'. Its exactly the same thing people all over the country ask, and I have travelled a bit myself...

That was the one and only question I was asked at my very first interview as a 16 year old "What school did you go to?" Terrible this bigotry is still so rife in our country.
