Prize Fighter Inferno, The - Half Measures Lyrics

Oh, that curb was yours for the moment
Alone, looking back at growing up
And the choices that led you here
The attention brings quite the excitement
But commotion will come to peace
And all you'll find left is fear
We had your back

Ooh, your mistake was giving up on yourself
And now, here you will stay for your crimes committed
You will receive everything

The words on the screen read "indicted"
The picture's a broken scene
How tough love feels, it's what you need
All these removed and reminded
Of a time when this wasn't me
And we were still the best of friends
I hope you'll be okay

But your big mistake was giving up on everyone
And now, here you will stay for your crimes committed
You will receive everything

A new world inside, where cold walls feel comfortable
Where straight lines don't curve
And oh, in the time you're gone, your cell's forgotten
Remember this: you are missed

We gave our strength, and now we have no choice
The bird's flown the coop and broke his singing voice
We can't wait for you to change, we tried
So, until that day
Goodbye

The time on the bus will remind you
Of what you had and how you lost it all
But you can't say it wasn't your fault

Cause your big mistake was giving up on everyone
And now here you will stay for your crimes committed
You will receive everything

A new world in sight, where cold walls feel comfortable
Where straight lines don't curve
In the time you're gone, your song forgotten
Remember this: you are missed
You are missed

Prize Fighter Inferno, The Half Measures Comments
  1. S.... A....

Anybody know where Mic is? Hes ok?

  2. M.... ....

This songs reminds me of the life my father lived. Drugs tore him apart from my mom, brother and me. He cleaned up but it was never the same after the divorce. Now he’s gone and all I have are memories of what once was.

  3. D.... L....

I own this on vinyl and love it so much

  4. M.... K....

I know this song is about Mic, or that that’s the general consensus, but ‘the time on the bus will remind you/ of what you had and how you’ve lost it all’ really hits me in the place I have still reserved for my ex and how our relationship formed and grew on a school bus for two years.

    Such a good fucking song.

  5. S.... R....

this song brings tears to my eyes everytime. feels like it was written about my life

  6. T.... D....

    Goddamnit, America.

  7. R.... S....

I think it's about Mic, and it makes me want to cryyyy.

  8. s.... ....

It reminds me of his Shabutie songs

  9. A.... ....

It's such a powerful song, especially to those who have loved ones who deal with addiction.

  10. C.... H....

Such an intensely sad song, I love it, though.  Get well, Mic.

  11. E.... ....

Chondra and Claudio's voices blend so well together, its so beautiful!!!!

  12. S.... ....

10 times in a row i've played this? idk, i lost track.

  13. H.... ....

For your crimes commited... You are missed

  14. D.... ....

    I love this.

  15. M.... A....

    We gave our strength
And now we have no choice
The bird has flown the coop
    And broke his singing voice
We can't wait for you to change,
    We tried...
    So, until that day, goodbye...

    :'(

  16. G.... S....

Claudio has the most amazing voice...it doesn't matter what he sings, it's just gonna be great. Thanks, Claudio....

  17. l.... ....

    Claudio is the man.

  18. p.... ....

Definitely my favourite song off the E.P although, it has taken me a while to warm to Chondra's voice. Especially on Erizo Schultz. Eitherway Claudio's still the man!

  19. x.... ....

Who fucking cares about the album art or ep art just listen to the song claudio is a master of his craft <3

  20. M.... D....

Claudio is not a satinist or illuminati puppet. The whole cover has to do with the concept beheind c and c and pfi. Read the epic itll all make sense

  21. J.... J....

The guy writes everything into a form of concept. The eye has to do with the Prize Fighter story, it's not meant anything political or symbolic to any luciferian shit.

  22. T.... Q....

Ah, gotta love when the retards are unleashed in the comments.

  23. s.... ....

and the 6 faces?!?! is he a luciferian? any and all people who follow a book or doctrine or teachings other than personal freedom are corrupt instruments of control.

  24. s.... ....

The all seeing eye goes a lot further than politics, the pyramid as well. I highly doubt he really looked into it before choosing it, or he supports it himself. Automatically defending him without knowing for sure shows worship of idols, and I'm not even religious. Mushroomhead used an eye on the cover of the first release on universal and i automatically assume they never thought about it further than it looked cool because their lyrics condemn the empirical power structure of society.

  25. b.... ....

The all seeing Eye is a symbol meaning something if it comes from Claudio. The cover has a meaning to not get lost in the corruption of politics

  26. L.... B....

    You deserve the internet.

  27. s.... ....

cmon....the all seeing eye ruined it for me

  28. C.... L....

    *Walgreens

  29. N.... ....

    Flux Fortuna

  30. M.... K....

Where?!?! I can't find anything about him except a wikipedia page.

  31. J.... T....

Big surprise, the Gardner is involved somehow.

  32. g.... ....

    I was holding my shit...then I lost my shit...Bravo

  33. D.... H....

6 people think it wasn't their fault

  34. A.... H....

    no half measures mike!!!

  35. R.... ....

I was thinking the same thing. I was watching Joey's DVD and I was like "That sounds so familiar". They clearly have inspired each other for sure. I have so much respect for both Claudio and Joey, I myself have taken so much inspiration from both of them as a guitarist, in fact I took lessons from Joey about 3 years ago...changed the way I look at guitar and music in general.

  36. M.... S....

    It is.

  37. U.... ....

This reminds of "Dead" by Joey Eppard...I wonder if it was inspired by it? Both are great songs, genius you could say. It's truly inspiring.

  38. p.... ....

I can think of many bands who are worth support. Don't you think supporting every band helps with everything? If a band deserves my money for giving me good music, then I'll give it to them.

  39. H.... ....

Hell yeah I bought this record and so much merch at the house of blues the other night!!! I will support this band until the day I die!

  40. h.... ....

    april come she will

  41. h.... ....

    i'm fighting back the urge

  42. R.... ....

    Buy it.

  43. M.... J....

    They were being sarcastic..

  44. K.... S....

aw mic oh my god crying

  45. B.... A....

You got one of the lines wrong.
"And oh, in the time you're gone, your cells forgotten"
It's actually your "SOUNDS" forgotten. You can hear it better in any of the live versions. Just saying. Beautiful song.

  46. w.... m....

    imiss mic >_<

  47. k.... f....

    hhahahahahhahahahahhahahaahahhaha

  48. r.... ....

this song reminds me of a coheed friend, Joey Eppard's song "dead".... tell me I'm not crazy. I love them both though

  49. K.... ....

this may be alil off point and i love their music but whats up with the dollar bill all seeing eye on the album cover lol.. conspiracy theorist senses are exploding lol jp

  50. a.... ....

Sure seems that way. No matter what it's about, it's sooooooo good!

  51. i.... ....

No this song is actually about Claudio's imaginary friend he used to have when he was growing up named Tic Modd but when Claudio turned 35 he realized he had to part ways with Tic after he robbed a Toys R Us.

  52. D.... F....

    no duh?

  53. B.... B....

    Shit Really?!

  54. B.... R....

How can people "kind of feel like this song is about Mic"? It obviously is did you actually listen to it..THIS IS ABOUT MIC

  55. P.... ....

Going to miss Mic in the band, I hope he gets the help he needs. This is an incredible song for him, while there's a lot of sadness here I think there is very obviously a lot of love for him. This is the first song to make me tear up in a long time, so beautiful.

  56. P.... ....

It's true, they funded it themselves, their contract ended after YOTBR. They decided to fund it themselves because they felt there was a bit too much pressure from the record company to make changes to the songs. Sure enough they released what is (in my opinion) their best album since Fear Through the Eyes of Madness.

  57. A.... R....

I am slowly starting to believe this is the greatest song he has ever written. The emotion is intense, in both lyrics and in the music.

    It's a beautiful feeling.

Real music has not died. You just have to dig a little deeper to find the real passion for it. It's right here in front of you.

  58. C.... B....

If it doesn't come direct from Claudio, I'm going to question it.

  59. J.... Z....

The Afterman is on Everything Evil/Hundred Handed, which is their own label. Year of the Black Rainbow was their last album with Columbia.

  60. M.... ....

Also I heard Coheed funded their latest album on their own.

  61. S.... S....

Dominoe the Destitute is for sure.

  62. B.... R....

Yet once again my bank account goes to Claudio and the Coheed family

  63. C.... B....

Domino is about Mic Todd. Claudio talks about it in the Billboard interview

  64. B.... ....

But legit bro I think this one is. Just read the lyrics. It's plain as day. I don't think any other Coheed song is about Michael

  65. C.... B....

Can you guys stop saying that every song is about Mic Todd now? Every PFI song and every song on the Afterman has a comment about Mic Todd. All of these songs are not about Mic Todd.

  66. k.... f....

i love when his wife sings with him sounds soo good

  67. R.... L....

    FkinTune!

  68. J.... ....

I wouldn't go as far as calling him God, but I would agree that he is no man...He is CLAUDIO :D

  69. J.... ....

No...I think it is absolutely impossible for him to create a bad song :)

  70. H.... ....

They aren't. Dozens upon hundreds of songs share a similar melody a tempo.
You could argue that Homecoming and Pearl of the Stars sound similar too but that's just how Claudio writes acoustic songs.
They're still good. Stop being so cynical.

  71. a.... ....

i find the guitars very similar, just here it is higher. like a mix between iron fist and homecoming. clearly im alone on this.

  72. M.... ....

    I don't see the similarity.

  73. a.... ....

No one going to mention how the guitar for this is almost identical to the bonus track
'homecoming" on the demos for ascension?

  74. K.... ....

In Claudio we trust! I have every album two sometimes three fold. :) Only REAL artist worth anyone's support.

  75. K.... ....

Yes a man is capable of making a bad song... but he is no man... he is god!

  76. z.... ....

    Yes. No one is perfect.

  77. N.... ....

Nevermind Konfusion. We were at the same show haha

  78. N.... ....

What did he play for you when you got in?

  79. k.... ....

Half measures can be bought on digital downloads from amazon on the 4th of december 2012

  80. k.... ....

It will be easier for you probably because no one had the box set yet so we had to print out the receipt (transmissions page) and bring it with. Yes there were a lot of people in Vip but it will depend on how many bought it in the area u are going to see them. it opened a little under an hour before the actual doors so i'd say get their early if u want time to check out the merch booth or whatever. I barely made it through the door when he started.

  81. x.... ....

    Mic, you WILL be missed.

  82. J.... ....

2:30-3:15. Gets me every fucking time.

  83. S.... R....

I was there too. It's a shame he was so sick throughout the show though.

  84. T.... S....

    That song is amazing.

  85. w.... c....

    that's bullshit.

  86. k.... ....

I saw him play this live at the Madison show Oct 20. vip style

  87. N.... ....

Is this the same neesh on turntable.fm?

  88. t.... ....

Such a beautiful song about a sad chain of events. I sincerely hope Mic can get better and they can renew their friendship. Addiction sucks but at some point you have to be responsible for your actions. It's not easy being tough on a lifelong friend, but as it says in the lyrics, it's what Mic needs. If Claudio, Josh, and Travis didn't love him, they'd overlook his problem. I doubt we'll ever see the original lineup again, but that doesn't mean they don't want Mic to get better.

  89. L.... ....

    Guns of Summer?

  90. L.... ....

who didn't get that reference though really?

  91. C.... F....

    I believe not!

  92. T.... S....

The theme of Boxers was based off of his brother, but the story of him rising then falling, was Mic.

  93. P.... B....

    /watch?v=v11nNI20tNs&feature=related

    go to 1:39.

  94. d.... ....

Dominos downfall is about Mic Todd. Claudio says so in the new bonus DVD

  95. c.... s....

OH GAWD!! It's just so sad.

  96. D.... r....

Standard tunning, Capo 1st fret. Then from there i did it by ear. USE YOUR EARS!

  97. P.... B....

I thought Domino was written about Mic.
