Can you see what makes this particular video so unusual, in terms of production?
It's a single shot, no edits, done on a Steadicam rig. 16mm. The lip synching is spot on, really supreme. Princess Superstar was rehearsed and prepared. All the dancers, action, and wardrobe changes were choreographed by the director, Peggy (forgot her last name!). Peggy did a great job, she worked in the production arm of Sony Records, although this was not for them but for the label 5thBeetle. Peggy and Concetta called in all their favors, and got a very rich supporting cast. I was the producer. I think we did 17 takes, of which we had 4 complete takes. It was shot in a low budget studio in Dumbo, before it was Dumbo. I think the total spent was 6k, but that's deceiving, because only when you've done a lot of production can you maximize a very small budget.
Peggy... (Margaret) Jameson! It is a masterpiece.
