Prince - In Love Lyrics

Ever since I met you, baby
I've been wantin' to lay you down
But it's so hard to get you
Baby, when you never come around
Every day that you keep it away
It only makes me want it more
Ooh baby, just say the word
And I'll be at your door

What more do I have to say?
I really wanna play in your river

Fallin', fallin', fallin' in love
I'm fallin', baby, deeper every day
(In love)
You're breakin' my heart and takin' me away
(In love)
I'm fallin' baby, girl, what can I do?
I just can't be without you

Ever since I met you, baby
There's been somethin' inside of me
That keeps me wantin' you
Baby, won't you set me free?
Take off these chains, girl
And I'll take off yours
There's no one in the world, baby
That I wanna love more

What else do I have to say?
I really wanna play in your river

Fallin', fallin', fallin' in love
I'm fallin' baby, deeper every day
(In love)
You're breakin' my heart and takin' me away
(In love)
I'm fallin' baby, girl, what can I do?
I just can't be without you

I'm fallin' in love
I'm fallin' baby, deeper everyday
(In love)
You're breakin' my heart and takin' me away
(In love)
And I'm fallin' baby, girl, what can I do?
I just can't be without you

I'm fallin', I'm fallin'
(In love)
I'm drownin' baby, in my love for you
(In love)
You're breakin' my heart and takin' me away
I just don't, I don't know what to say

In love
In love
Oh baby-girl, you're takin' me away
Oh baby, baby, oh baby, baby
In love
In love

  53. K.... ....

This was during a time when the music is what mattered .the synths, the chords the arrangement and harmonies were everything . I love hip hop .but now days it's about how loud your bass is ,almost no instrumetaion except for drums and no song structure. I'm glad I grew up in the era that I did. These kids will never understand the importance of artist like Prince. And when it come to hip hop all they say about the pioneers is oh they are old and boring lol no respect for the ones who started it all and paired the way for you to do what you do .respect the music

    K.... ....

I agree. Still a timeless song and debut album 40 years later!

    K.... ....

I used to, (in my mind) do an entire video to this song... chains and all!!! Lol.

  54. f.... w....

    Favorite album 💕😘

  60. T.... B....

    ♫♫♫♫♫

  61. B.... ....

Prince first album is one of his best. He produced and played all the instruments himself for his debut record. He is a musical prodigy. This is a timeless classic.

    B.... ....

@G Jackson yea and did you know those fools was so jealous of this 19 year old kid knowing exactly what he wanted and didnt need ANYONE else to be pressent!
They actually wanted Maurice White to produce Prince,Prince said HELL no!Can you imagine that all of Prince's,tracks wouldve sounded like earth wind and fire lol

    B.... ....

@Hakim Clarkson cool little short story she seems like a very deep person and im sure you guys had an awesome relationship!

    B.... ....

He was indeed the Mozart of his Royal purple Reign. The kind that comes along once a generation. I hate that he didn't leave biological heirs behind so his bloodline could have continued.

    B.... ....

@Starr Company You obviously don't think much of Maurice White. He would have never have cramped Prince's style.

    B.... ....

He let his feminine size to show up.. love it !!!!

  62. A.... C....

this was the 5th album I bought from Prince and I loved it. i have always loved the intro to this song!! I got into Prince towards the tail end of Purple Rain. I remember...... I was off to the record store (it always smelled like cherry incense in the store) I headed to Prince's vinyl section with the honest intent of getting his new offering, Around The World In A Day -- boy, did that one blow my mind -- but ended up getting Dirty Mind instead.....LOL

I really miss Prince : ( I keep him in my prayers always and ask God to bless him every day.

    A.... C....

This was my second album purchase of Prince as I had bought the 45 of Soft and Wet then I went back and bought this album and was completely blown away by his musical genius!!!!!
All my friends kept saying that he must be gay but I never thought about that as I truly appreciated his music then and will forever!😑

    A.... C....

I love This Song Prince was Hella Young when He came out with His First Album For You at the age of 19 going on 20 back in 1978 R.I.P. Prince (1958-2016) #legendsneverdie

  72. R.... H....

    I love u so much...This I do...With love, sincerity and deepest care...A life with u I share.
This song is short, sweet and straight 2 the point. This was his intro and a prelude to what was to come. Pure musical genius!

  73. A.... W....

Never gets old - still as good as it was the first time I heard way back then. Still hitting that damn repeat button.

  74. A.... W....

I remember listening to this on cassette and constantly rewinding it over and over. I couldn't get past the first song on the first side. The others didn't matter - it was just something about this one particular song that stuck out more. But then when I got to listen to the other tracks I was equally blown away. This song right here has that Caribbean flavor to it. Like to only really comprehend its true beauty one has to be out on a boat deep in the ocean rocking out.

It was obvious even back then Prince was on the verge of some serious stardom. He not only knew what instruments worked well for each tune but his hear for how eclectic his music would be - words just can not describe. He put a hell of a lot of talent and genius into his first two albums. And it was like Warner Bros just pissed all over it - WHY???!!! Were they not listening to this man's talent????!!!!

The only song that got commercial approval on the radio was - an instrumental - "Soft & Wet". This could've as easily been the second hit. The more I listen to these old classics the more it makes me that much more inclined to think and say - the industry never knows what the hell to do with greatness such as this. No wonder so many artists go crazy and go into an insane mental breakdown of substance abuse. It's like they're so trying to feed the beast (The Music Industry) & trying to satisfy so many they're forced into a corner to beat themselves up - thinking "Am I not good enough yet?!!!"

    A.... W....

arthur workman 🙂 he produced it with alot of love💜

    A.... W....

@mace portier yeah you got that right. Ain't no doubt about that. Especially when it was his second album. But all artists are vulnerable with their music and song material. But just looking at his picture on the album cover to me it sort of signifies his vulnerability and innocence at the same time. It appears as though he's questioning if he's good enough will people like his music. But most importantly his expression says to me - "How much will of my soul will I to sacrifice to get my music out there to the public" -- of course we'd learn years later the truth of that.

    A.... W....

Arthur Workman I don't believe prince did drugs no matter what anyone says

    A.... W....

@Thor The God Of Thunder, Hoes, and Beer - Though many people still think they're may have been people who wanted him to shut up about the music industry's bad dealings. I think the drugs still played a part in it somehow. How else would you seriously silence a person - who's as outspoken as Prince about the evil bad dark side of the music business. You can't shoot a person because bullets can be traced - but drugs especially if you use the right ones like what Prince used to curb his pain with his body issues. It makes it appear as though that's the only obvious reason. Even more so if certain people are paid off not to speak out. Certain files get closed and certain people who honestly know are paid off and are threatened to remain silent or else. I do believe there are a great number of people who know something but are probably too scared to come out on camera & speak out about it. So we'll probably never know until years if not decades later. If that long.

    A.... W....

Same, my favorite. I would listen to For You as a prelude everytime.

  75. O.... K....

I LOVE THIS ONE TOO MISS PRINCE SO MUCH ONE AND ONLY💝
