When I first heard the studio version I was like "man I don't know about this". But on the second listen I was like" this is so fucking dope". I can completely understand though why he left it all Purple Rain and replace it with the beautiful ones. Where exactly would it had fit in the movie? But it is a solid track and unfortunately it's one of those songs that actually sounds kind of dated. It sounds just like the 80s. But man the 80s never sounded so good!

We all know that this is no were close to the divine magic that's was captured when he did this live under those blue lights. But this version does make me smile. My first thought upon hearing this was: 'Uncle P' your weird ass.' Those in & out sounds of high dense notes. Gotta Love him. He was so different & he would surprise u. I really don't know what you guys are complaining about this version is better he sings the song with more emotion passion and expression you don't hear that in the live version at least I didn't. it's a very sexy song and he's not singing in his normal way people are you use to hearing him you wouldn't immediately think oh that's Prince and then when you hear it it would come as a surprise!

Love hearing all of the versions. The live 1983 First Av. version is the best so far in my opinion but this is cool. I would buy CD's of every song if it had a progression of the songs on it. Cool the way he changes it up. Prince was a genius. Wrote and played and produced constantly.. amazing.
