Price, Ray - Burning Memories Lyrics
(Burning mem'ries burning mem'ries memories of you that I can't lose)
Tonight I'm burning old love letters photographs and memories of you
Hoping somehow I'll feel better and when the smoke is gone I won't want you
Burning mem'ries teardrops fall while I am
Burning mem'ry burning all the memories of you that I can't lose
Into the fire those dreams you've shattered
And when the smoke is gone then I'll be free
Burning mem'ries teardrops fall while I am
Burning mem'ry burning all the memories of you that I can't lose

Great memories
I love this song to this is what I grew up on pure country as I get older I just these old songs back in the 50s and 60s I would listen to these songs doing homework
Some of the best voices and songs in the County Music Industry. I was teased and called a hick because of my choice in music. I was county then and thanks to the music and the voices of Price, Jones, and Strait, I will take county music to my grave.
I am here because
when I listened to
the version that is
given precedence
by you tube and
popped up when
I spoke the song
title, I thought that
the recording had
the turntable pitched WAY too
high. So I wanted
"a second opinion," so to
speak. As soon
as this video began, I could hear that Ray actually had is voice pitched up
high. I like him
better in a lower
key. Surprised he
pulled this song off so well with
the additional
burden placed on
his
vocal chords of
pitching his voice
up so high. When
I used to play records on my turntable, I often
would reduce the
pitch to slow these guys down
into a more appealing lower
key...Johnny Tillotson, The Everly Brothers,
and others, depending of
course on the
circumstances
governing the
production of the
recording. Usually
I miss a pedal steel guitar in country music arrangements, but
Ray, the chorus, and the violins kind of made a
pedal steel guitar
superfluous. Now
THAT'S TALENT!
As opposed to some singers who
haven't been blessed with a
magnificent voice
like Ray, but a virtuosic pedal steel guitarist saves the day!!!
Box Car Willie and
Vernon Oxford,
for instance.
One of the biggest honors I had was meeting and introducing him at the Tucson Symphony Hall in Tucson, Az. That was around 1979 or so. He used the Tucson Orchestra! Incredible when he sang "For The Good Times". This is one of my favorites too. Loved all of Ray's stuff.
😍😍😍😍❤❤
Timeless!
Nothing better, nothing.
