Preston, Billy - Hey Brother Lyrics

Hey, brother
Where you goin' with that stick in your hand?
He said, "Goin' over here
Goin' to destroy another man's land"

'Cause one man but nothing to other man but all
Together we stand and divided we fall
It's sad to know today
People aren't willing to show a little love for you

(Love)
And we need more love
(Love)
We all need love

(Love)
That sustains enough love
(Love)
Gimme some love

(Love)
Callin', buddy, I want love
(Love)
'Cause

I loved the most, I paid the price that cost
Too much for freedom
Look, just understand, I'm a man
I come from that same mother called nature
Yeah

I'll tell you what's wrong, I'm was born to be strong
To be tied down, I can't stand it
Listen, wrong or right, black or white
We all deserve an equal right

Hey, brother
Learn how to live with one another, ya
Hey, brother
Hey, brother
Learn how to live with one another
Hey, sister

@PlusMusicMan you can't just sue because a song sounds like another one. Music is a science that never needs to argue. If we wanna sue for ripping off folks, then all COUNTRY & ROCK songs need to pay all the blues & jazz folks that paved the way....remember....that was a Hendrix joint, so I imagine a lot of those musicians knew it sounded like Hey Joe, but the message is the point...we needed it back then.

@Billyprestonmusic, Hey brother/sister, cool it! All I said was "Somebody shudda got sued".

The history shows, Billy Roberts wrote the original "Hey Joe", copyrighted it in '62. Jimi had it on the Apple label in '66 and Billy did the same progression with a very similar melody melody named "Hey Brother" in 1969 on the That's the way... album I bought and enjoyed and gave my opinion.

Seasoned musicians know that the cycle of 5th's is as old as the hills. Don't shoot, I'm just the messenger!

@PlusMusicMan It's become somewhat of a rock standard, Jimi didn't come up with the progression. Hell Jimi didn't even write Hey Joe.

    Hey Joe, or Hey Brother?
    Somebody shudda got sued!
Sounds like a clear rip off to my ears.

    'Hey joe' in disguise?
