Presley, Elvis - Mansion Over The Hilltop Lyrics

I'm satisfied with just a cottage below
A little silver and a little gold
But in that city where the ransomed will shine
I want a gold one that's silver lined

I've got a mansion just over the hilltop
In that bright land where we'll never grow old
And some day yonder we will never more wander
But walk on streets that are purest gold

Don't think me poor or deserted or lonely
I'm not discouraged I'm heaven bound
I'm but a pilgrim in search of the city
I want a mansion, a harp and a crown

I've got a mansion just over the hilltop
In that bright land where we'll never grow old
And some day yonder we will never more wander
But walk on streets that are purest gold

Presley, Elvis Mansion Over The Hilltop Comments

I believe Elvis is in Paradise awaiting the resurrection of the departed Saints and the changing of the living Saints (referred to as the "rapture" ) for the meeting with Christ in the air ( see John 14:1-3 & 1 Thess. chap 4-verses 15-18 ) and in glorified bodies accompany Jesus Christ to Heaven. We certainly will be rooting for Elvis singing for Jesus Christ in Heaven and throughout the galaxies giving GOD all the glory and happy to serve forever!

    Isaiah chapter 7: verse 14;
Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign; Behold, a virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call his name Emmanuel.

    John 3:
16 For God loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

I believe Elvis Presley loved Gosple songs better then all the songs ,,,he had a calling by God a rejected it when he was younger to work for Parker. I believe when he got older he had many regrets a was changing. I believe he was asking God just where is that I fit into your master plan.

How is it possible, that a human being could sing a song that beautiful. Elvis Presley, will never have any one, his equal. To listen to his song, you have to pinch your-self, to make sure, that your not in heaven.

    K.... G....

What a wonderful song, sweet and gentle sung by Elvis. Nobody else can improve his version The tone, the voice, the lyrics and the music are a whole. I'm full with emotions and gratitude for having the chance to listen his fantastic voice once again He will always be the King 😇🙏🏻😇🙏🏻😇🙏🏻😇🙏🏻

  19. G.... B....

ELVIS has sung the original lyrics correctly, but the lyrics given is wrong: "where the ransomed will shine" should correctly be, as sung by ELVIS"where the ransomed dwell shine"
another one is : "I want a mansion, a harp and a crown", should be as correctly sung by ELVIS: "I want the mansion, a harp and the crown".

    G.... B....

Here are the Lyrics found on line. I just copied and pasted. Look it up yourself and don't be to quick judge and correct others.
    "Mansion Over The Hilltop"

I'm satisfied with just a cottage below

You should not correct others without checking your own spelling, ELVIS should be spelled, "Elvis"  You did this 3 times

    G.... B....

+Ges Barundang I'm not sure what you're getting at, but the correct lyrics are"where the ransomed will shine" and also "I want a mansion, a harp and a crown". These are the correct lyrics and if you look up the lyrics on the net, you'll see all the websites have the ones I listed above.

    G.... B....

Listen very carefully, to the way Elvis sang that song, and study that lyrics you've got from net....I still stand by the lyrics that I mentioned in my comment aforesaid is confirmed as correct, as Elvis sang it.

    G.... B....

+Ges Barundang if you really listen to the lyrics also, there are TWO words you are saying is wrong. "WILL" that you say should be "DWELL" and "A" that should be "THE". Now, lets look at the word before these words from the lyrics that came from the CD and is all over the net that you say is all wrong. . "Ransomed will", Elvis carries out the "D" from  ransomed and sounds more like a slur into will. That makes it sound like "dwell". "Want a" Carry out the last letter of want and to slur t into a and you have that "the" sound. I stand by the lyrics on the video, the lyrics that came with the cd and the lyrics that are on the net.But when you write and criticize 2 very small words on a video, well, enough said.

    G.... B....

Even If he has sung the lyrics wrong Elvis gospel n religious music is heartfelt. And if they make us feel closer to our Lord that's more important. Would love to see Heaven the way he's pictured it here. And see him too singing to glory the Glories of Heaven

We buried both my grandmother and then my grandfather with this song. This version is so simple and pure, and really conveys the comfort that the older generations hoped for... Thanks for sharing.

  26. R.... H....

One day I came home from high school to find Mom crying while listening to Elvis's Gospel Lp she once bought. She said Elvis died that day which upset me terribly even though I was not an Elvis fan. I sat and listened to this album which was his best album ever. Beautiful gospel music every song. I started to cry with her because I then realized why Elvis was so tortured in life. His mother was a devout Christian and I know now how he must have struggled between Jesus and the world every day.
