I heard this on Pandora at work in a channel exclusively dedicated to cover songs. I liked it, so obviously I came here. As somebody who grew up listening to most of Phil Collins' music, this is an excellent cover. Not everybody will agree, but that is my view on it.

Not everyone likes this version, but I do. Mostly because of the instrumentals that convey the overall feeling of the lyrics. That of course is my interpretation, and I already know someone is going to whine about it. If you don’t like this version listen to the original and relax.

I'm a bigger fan of Phil Collins than I am of The Postal Service but yes the instruments and the over all feel of the song fits the mood much better in my opinion.

This rendition isn't mainstream enough for a lot of people, but that doesnt mean it isn't good. The instrumentation and beautiful countermelodies match the emotional tone of the lyrics far better than the original.

These guys should just cover nursery rhymes or something completely old school just to make them relevant again. Not knocking Sir Collins...he's about 5'-6" of musical magic, but Postal Service is like real butter: just makes everything better. Glad to have found them on Pandora a while back. AND THE BAND'S GETTING (GOT) BACK TOGETHER! So that's always a plus. :o)
