OMFG people its HIS COVER he can do whatever he wants with it....he wanted to make it upbeat...its his own style. he is not trying to fill coldplay shoes or be like them..duh! a cover should be expected to be different than the original he's an artist and this is what they do they put their own twist on things. I admit its not my fave but hes still a great artist and I'm not going around bashing the guys talent cause clearly he has plenty.

I just heard coldplays original track of "The Scientist" . Conclusion reached is that both have kinda sung in different pitch voices and frequency the tone is different as well mike has tried to make a piece of his own. Just don't compare him to coldplay cuz both have different voices and the song is also having a good lyrics which mike has sung extraordinarily.

I really enjoy the lyrics, yes they are different types of music. However, I listened to the original before I found this. I know some of my friends would not listen to the original style, I shared this cover with them, and because of this style they were able to listen to it and enjoy it :D I definately don't think this version is better by any means, but it still helps the original versions amazing lyrics be heard by many!!!!

I get that some people think this isn't great because they are comparing it to the original song by Coldplay, but the song by Coldplay is just kind of boring and sounds dead to me. I think Mike was just trying to add some life to the song, which wouldn't go with the other video but his remix alone is amazing. You can actually jam to it rather than feel depressed while listening to the original version. So no it's not horrible, it's just different than the original.

Unlike you all, it sounds fine to me. Some of the keyboards, etc, sound bad, but when he is singing "Nobody said it was easy", those keyboard in the backround sort of accent the line.
