For blasting this track at a party, this is the version to play. For hanging out with a couple buddies smoking some trees, the original is better, it has MUCH better ambiance and the sounds have more balance overall. In this one, the drums take over the foreground instead of blending in with the rest of the music. Not a great remaster but still good.

@Kristina Ramos: It's a sequenced pattern of a synthesizer sample. Basically, you record the pattern or melody you want on the synth & use a sequencer to repeat the pattern on a loop. Hope this explains it!

It's probably some kind of xylophone or bell patch on a keyboard.

As much as I love Gavin's drumming I totally agree with this statement.

This Band with this masterpiece, with this incredible rythm & solo wrote the (Greek) tittle Synesthesia high on the list of best songs of Rock History.

One of the best PT songs! Both versions are excellent IMO.
