Porcupine Tree - Lips Of Ashes Lyrics
Paralysed
Lips of Ashes
Synchronised
Blue vein crashes
Idolised
Black Eyes fading
You and I
Connection failing
I drill down inside

Porcupine Tree Lips Of Ashes Comments
Does anyone know what they're using to make that percussive echoy chimey sound in the background? It almost sounds like a steel drum
I always thought that was some exotic string instrument with a lot of reverb added later but I'm not sure.
Toprak I’ve heard it’s a hammered dulcimer.

This song defies genre classification. It sounds like something off of pink Floyd's album more

Was here
I had one of the most powerful experiences of my life while tripping mushrooms to this song.
Why does everyone that does drugs listening to a song have to comment about it? Do you realise how utterly uninteresting it is for others to hear this shit? Unless you saw E.T while tripping, I'd like to hear something else from you about the song, not the drug trip you had.
Yea it sounds good, just dont think about the meaning behind the lyrics, cuz its about rape and murder
@Toprak Porcupine Tree (especially early albums) is heavily inspired by psychedelic music. That kind of music is trippy on it's own, but listening to it during actual trip is a whole another experience. And, unsurprisingly, literally the first thing that comes to your mind during this process is to tell somebody how good music sounds while tripping.
@Diamond Dawg Regardless, it is still a completely pointless conversation. I can't imagine ever being interested to hear about what drugs combined with the song made someone feel.
@Toprak you should take drugs more often, maybe then you won't participate in meaningless conversation in the comments on Youtube.
