Porcupine Tree - Chloroform Lyrics

Little retrograde, wonder where you are
Another motorcade, under radar
A boy in borrowed clothes, knows he is a girl
Shards of light come down, stillness in the air
Big sleeper, your deeper, too deep for me yeah
Speak clearer, can't hear you, I'm going under
On the mountain side, hold me in your gaze
But it's over now, cos I got kids to raise

    My sister, the shapeshifter...

  2. James Maher

    That bass!

  3. Pranav Phx

Amazing bass solo at the end, sounds like a fretlless bass , maybe a pedula buzz bass

    basscom77

pretty sure it's also backwards bass

  4. ROCIO ORTIZ

    So beautiful 😍
Thanks a lot for sharing ☺️

  5. Big Chungus

Thanks...These "B-sides" (feel dirty calling them that) are amazing!!

  6. Gustavo Arce

    In Absentia album extraordinario

  7. Toprak

1:46 Do you hear that pause? That's horrible.

  8. Space Monkey

the bass game here is powerful...

  9. progressiverockrocks

So delicately crafted. Pure pleasure to the ears. Elegant classy, mysterious, and sad. Shame on you for not liking this enough

  10. usmcsdi69

10 Fuck Tards NEVER heard a good song in their life... or they were looking for Justin Beiber and couldn't stand a GREAT Prog Rock song

    usmcsdi69

Connections with One Time of King Crimson

  13. MotoManiac

    steven wilson is a genius

  14. sewpahmon

6 years it has been since I heard you. And tomorrow I shall witness thy maker.

  15. SteveFrench

Is Gavin or Chris playing in this song? The obvious answer would be Gavin but this song was written by Steven and Chris so I don't know.

    Con

Ciappa Quentin No it's Gavin. Go to Neural Rust site. Chris talks about this song specifically.

    NoisyChicken85

Chris. It sounds like Chris at least :)

    Pranav Phx

    @NoisyChicken85 yep

    Mzed!

@Pranav Phx Chris wrote the drum parts. Gavin played it.

    Pranav Phx

@Mzed! That's what i meant. Sounds in the sense the crazy drum patterns. Chris s rhythm parts are very unique. Quirky is the right word. Gavin is a master and has his own vocabulary but chris s composition sound off the cuff and raw. He is like what Chris Moon was to The Who in my humble opinion. I love all 3 that i mention above and will add mitch Mitchell from Jimi hendrix experience

  16. Worsthoofd

I can still vividly remember where I was and at what time, when I heard this song the first time and 3:21 kicked in. An amazing piece of work. (For the record, the place was a highway ramp in southern France, the time was late summer, on a Sunday =P).

    progressiverockrocks

So delicately crafted. Pure pleasure to the ears. Elegant classy, mysterious, and sad.

  17. Sunny Joel

PT has a character of its own, tool I don't think is a big influence, Floyd,..yes to a Very marginal extent, else their sound has got PT signatured All over

  18. Zach Rounds

their other gem from the extended version of this album is drown with me. it's fantastic

  19. Sajal Khanna

    Too toxic

  20. dale jones

If you really listen eelis, you will hear 10cc more than anything ...Tool..no way..

  21. Nigel Simpson

Beautiful 👍 Why have I not got this special edition?

  22. eelis tuominen

Steven wilson's Tool influences are pretty obvious in this song. Rhythm is almost identical to Tool's Reflection

    TheSwordOfTheMorning

    @Carlo Damiani
Agreed. Definitely getting a Crimson vibe here.

    Ivanyi Attila

    And Pink Floyd...

    Toprak

    Everybody is influenced by everybody.

    Big Chungus

The beginning reminds me of "Fog" by Radiohead.

    James Maher

I definitely hear hints of reflection but I also hear a hint of Radiohead as well.

    WeWantYouToStay

    Same with devin townsend songs

    César Báez

    Now there are 8 dislikes...

Charles, the world is not the same as it was.

  26. Ali Minaian

That moment when you find a hidden Steven Wilson gem in youtube.

    ulfingvar1

Hidden? Hardly.. This album is well known and highly thought of..

    Chuixupu

not everyone has the European special edition or dvd-a from which this song appears, though.

    Greg Randolph

And it's IMPOSSIBLE to find the Deluxe Edition of "In Absentia" anywhere without it costing you a second mortgage. PT should definitely re-release the album with this and "Drown With Me" as the latter is maybe my favorite PT song.

    Eratosthenes

Really? I found it by accident in a local shop for 15 dollars lol

    usmcsdi69

All of his work is GEM!!!!

  27. Raghunandan Palakodety
