Poppy - Fashion After All Lyrics

I'm working every angle
My lipstick is a staple
My hair and makeup make you envious and want to die
I'm mother to so many
I'm saving every penny
I'm in Japan and Africa and I don't need a guide
My wrists are terrorists
My lips gave you a kiss
My consciousness thinks this is making me feel fabulous

Do what I want
Say what I want
Wear what I want
Talk how I want
Walk how I want
Get what I want
Wear what I want

It's fashion after all
It's fashion after all
It's fashion after all
It's fashion after all
Fashion after all
(La, la)
(La, la)
(La, la)
(La, la, la)

Give me a second to think
Give me something cold to drink
Give me a reason I should listen to another word
I'm revolutionary
Relatable and scary
I'm making plans to save the world and I don't need your help
I'm on another level
There's nothing I can't handle
I'm watching you watch me the way the devil watches angels

Do what I want
Say what I want
Wear what I want
Talk how I want
Walk how I want
Get what I want
Wear what I want

It's fashion after all
It's fashion after all
It's fashion after all
It's fashion after all
Fashion after all
(La, la)
(La, la)
(La, la)
(La, la, la)

Do what I want
Say what I want
Wear what I want
Talk how I want
Walk how I want
Get what I want
Wear what I want

It's fashion after all
It's fashion after all
Fashion after all
It's fashion after all
Fashion after all
(La, la)
(La, la)
(La, la)
(La, la, la)
It's fashion after all
It's fashion after all
It's fashion after all
Fashion after all

    Dear Poppy,
Women have their views on how sexy is defined, with an emphasis put on appearance, along with their views on men and relationships, distorted and corrupted from the time they are little girls by various means and methods, one significant example would be Disney princess movies. Cinderella teaches the woman to run away from the man and if he loves her, he'll chase her. Other movies teach that the man has to slay the dragon to get the girl, or else it isn't true love. These fallacies have been deeply ingrained into the ideology of women, and have had a massive impact on American culture. Men are never able to meet the programmed expectations that women have, and so, met with disappointments and dissatisfaction, feminism capitalises this, by instilling the narrative that women are superior, reinforced by points of life experiences, deepening the corruption to push the feminism agenda further. Now, this creates a divide between men and women. Also, the superiority complex is also seeded by modern fashion, and the definition of sexy which has been programmed into the minds of the people, via make up, the porn, the film industries, and modeling. Women are taught that arrogance is sexy, and so become the perfect victims for feminism to prey upon, implanting an ideology that women are superior to men, when in fact, we are all flesh and blood- none are inferior nor superior, everyone dies and this is an inescapable fact. Death equalises all in a world of illusion where superiority is portrayed as something legitimate, thus creating an ideology which is manifested and expressed in the people, cruelly.

Did you not get that she is living satire? She's making fun of pop culture

    C.... R....

@Cakey Rat yeah, I read an article that had her interview where she talked about what living in Hollywood is like, and that's kinda what inspired this song and a few others off this album I think.

    C.... R....

Cinderella doesn't teach women to run away. She had to run away because the magic would wear out, and stepmother would find out and abuse her even more.
