Pop, Iggy - Girls Lyrics
I love girls
There all over this world
Hah!
Like to look at ya
They're all over this world
Some have beautiful shapes
I wanna live to be ninety-eight
Yeah, somebody to talk to
And I like to look at you
Yeah, somebody to talk to
And I love to look at you
'Cause you're a real fine girl
Last week in Paree
I was hanging down with Suzee
That crazy French magazine
She turned me backwards to a new scene
'Cause she was somebody to talk to
And to tell my troubles to
She was somebody that's so fine
Worth my looking in to
She's a beautiful girl, girl, girl
Summertime
Oh, and the living is easy
The girls are jumping
And the cotton is high
Your daddy is rich
And your mama's good looking
So hush little baby
And don't you cry
'Cause you're a real fine girl

One of the killerst bands of all time
Que temazo...!!!!
Saludos desde Monte Grande, Argentina!
Happy Celestial Birthday, Ron Asheton.
I love Iggy. He rocks so hard, but at the same he makes me laugh. You can't judge a book by its cover: James Newell Osterberg, Jr. is a brilliant man.
I love how he can laugh at himself
She was somebody that's SO fine, worth my lookin' INTO!!!
Iggy expresses his appreciation for girls. And of course his backup musicians do a bang-up job of pushing that sentiment forward.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I wouldn't like to experience such a long extent of my live and age, because I heard that the erectial abillities are not like in their best age (I'm thirty, not even on my top. It'll be in 40th. I'm Ana's husband, she doesn't have the erection, exept the clitorial one).
Jus another Punk.....
babies U R fucking guys .... New Values album is the best One of Iggy story
So many great "girls" songs- David Johansen (NY Dolls) has one, Motely Crue-"Girls, Girls Girls"- Elvis Presley- Duran Duran "Girls On Film".
And The Dictators: "Cars and Girls" - G-g-g-g-girls!
I WANNA LIVE TO BE 98!!!
great song, [and the 'double-play' cassette], it is not listed yet in Discogs.

wmprokipchak, thank you for really summing this up. I just saw Echo & the Bunnymen--they had this in their opening mix of songs before going on--everything you said was so right on track....every crazy thing going on in this track is just amazing and shows the brilliant songwriting, as you said, a seminal song! It was full of delight.
New Values is definetely Iggy's best album. Yess I agree
This is probably imho the greatest track on a seminal album by Pop, out in 1979 and truly visionary, already seeing the new decade of the 1980s (the idealized side, not the eventual greedlocked reality), out of the decadent cynical 70s. Only drawback here is YouTube's rendering lacks the all-powerful dynamic on the original vinyl: it's a song to play loud, it's puissant, Iggy's uber-masculine deep tones saying it all: conveying what beautiful women effortlessly do to a red-blooded man. O well.

Thurston!!
Great, somewhat overlooked gem of a record.
Thurston makes this album great!
backwards to her machine
Sweet to the extreme. Lvoe this tune.
New Values is definetely Iggy's best album. Love Scott Thurston on guitar, too.
just a brilliantly constructed song. Great spoken intro...tasty guitarwork every single second on every layer..great riff ...one of a kind talk/sung/growled/purred Iggy vox..brilliant & tasty guitar solo break at 1:45..then "Summertiiiimmmmmmme oh and the livin is EEEEasy". Can't listen to it just once=this album is brilliant all around but this may be THE pinnacle of the entire album. Five+ stars****** even 33 years later.(and I had to listen to it yet again)
